How I Paint Cute Colorful Birds - Quick and Easy Loose Watercolor Tutorial for Beginners

- This little painting is perfect for loosening up your fingers before you start a painting session, for getting back into painting after a break, or for a painting session with the children or grandchildren. We start with a rough circle, add a branch beneath the circles, and then add legs, beaks, eyes and tails to create our cute little birds.
You don't need any special supplies for this painting - a piece of sketch paper is fine, and you can use whatever three colors you fancy - there's no need to mix or blend colors for this simple project.

I meant to ask you about the paint s you used yesterday on the mushrooms, I was thinking about ordering them and wondered what you like about them . I read they dry a bit shinier and would like that but wanted your take on them. You sure make my day watching and listening to your tutorials. Have a wonderful day dear lady……oh the pink in that pallet is what caught my eye and it’s quite a lot of different colors for the price. Thanks Rita
Hi Rita, I really like those paints. I find them very liberating! I like the way you can use them either very dilute as transparent watercolour or alternatively with a lesser amount of water they behave like gouache. That means you can use them to paint light over dark, which you can’t do with normal watercolours. I haven’t noticed any shininess, except obviously for the iridescent ones, gold and silver. I like the texture that they provide, because it’s nice to embellish with ink. I’ve got another video coming up in a few days showing than being used again. Personally, I am a big fan of tube watercolours over pans, because that’s really what I’ve done for years and years, but these big pans are a different kettle of fish altogether! I don’t like telling people what to buy, but I have not regretted the €50 I spent on this set. I think it has improved my confidence in watercolour. Hope this helps!
