Lots of good Arma Reforger guides on TH-cam, also, using voice chat in-game to ask people how things work is a good way to do it. Most people in-game are helpful!

Learning curve is not that steep. Just don't waste supplies on drip and guns (and evenutally saving loadout) elsewhere outside of Main Operating Base. Make sure you confirm your kills with headshots. Bring meds and learn about heling system (super easy) so you can help yourself and revive other players. Respawning is not always meta (especially when a base is low on supplies). Don't waste supply trucks and be a cool guy and even do one supply run throughout a game; each base needs a relay/antenna and you have to capture bases consecutively, so they create a network of bases. Loosing a base in the middle or at the beginning of the network most likely will cause loosing other bases. Having a spade in your loadut is meta (you can build antennas, extend bases). Take rides with many people inside cus many people spawn a vehicle just for them and eventually 4 dudes is riding in 4 vics toward the same direction. UNLOCK your vehicles when you abandon them so friendlies can reuse them (hostiles too hehe). There's a bullet drop so caliber matters and use them wisely according to their intended use (e.g. 9x39 is bad for sniping - huge bullet drop; perfect for CQB tho). Finally - USE COMMS and use them wisely (you can set up your own frequencies so you can team up temporarily with friendlies while assaulting - yopu don't have to use VOIP or platoon coms). VOIP can be heard by ANYONE. Hope it helps. Healing mechanics and gameplay meta is the key. You should be somewhat proficient after 50-80 hrs. I'm 130 hrs right now, the game is super fun. Warnig: you will loose sense of time, so you might be antisocial becuase of this game lol. It's hard to play just for 30-60 min, when e.g. driving a BTR can take 40 min from a MOB to a point. This game is considered as a running and driving simulator but that's because of wrong gameplay - it happens when people don't care about supplies. I can recommend you W.C.S. servers - they are the most legit place to play, elsewhere people mostly don't care and they want to imitate CoD/BF so the gameplay sucks. Optionally Darkgru has good community too - but their servers can be trash, W.C.S. is more reliable in this matter.
Forgot about two things. Place map markers, almost nobody do it and it's insane how helpful they are - blue are for your faction, red is opfor. Depending on a sever, but usually squad leaders are visible on a map, so if your squad has 4 ppl, and you're the SL - you will be highilighted on a map.
I really enjoy this content. Helps me pass the time before I can play again. If I can offer some advice, be more careful when moving out of cover, especially after being shot at. Typically the enemy will chase you down to secure the perimeter. I come from Squad, but the rules of engagement are basically the same here.
You need to try Spearhead's Hardcore Road to Bakhmut! No markers, no gps, really ascetic interface (no info about rounds in mags, nades, etc.) just armbands, comms and tons of friendly fire lmao.

dude, a war would mean to have a campaign map- with no campaign map - is just a battle - indeed a large one 24/24, but not a war, just a battle. With a campaign map, we could fight endless for entire cities/ provinces, areas. Imagine that. Bohemia doesn't have this vision. Imagine having 100 battles like this 24/24 - fighting for 100 provinces / regions/ cities. Just imaging what an epic scale that would be. You could actually have the entire Map of europe with 2 factions fighting for domination of Europe / Russia.
idk if youve ever tried em but i tend to like the white phosphorus nvgs for me they tend to be a lot clearer to look through (also you can raise and lower your nvgs intensity and be able to see more/less)

The only downside and complaint I've had with not just reforger, but every Arma, is the ability to turn off the grass and render distance for bushes. Makes it very difficult to know when you're in the open on the enemy screen

Arma 3 inventory made so much more sense. Inventory space was a slider on the inventory object. Weight was a slider at the bottom. Then you had a list of items in the inventory. No stupid sorting. No spaces to try to organize. Simple, effective, very useable. This DayZ inventory system is the worst

Devs can do their thing. I dont have to participate. Arma is a tactical shooter. The more time I spend fumbling with my inventory the less time I'm looking for enemies. Being aware. Or shooting. I find it to be a bad move to make the inventory system more complex especially when you are porting it to consoles with less controls and no mouse to move quicker. So I'd much rather look at a slider on my backpack and fill it to full. Know what in it. Make sure I'm not overweight. And carry on. As opposed to playing tetris while im.being shot at and need to pick up a rifle to continue the fight
And the hands thing? Idk maybe I'm just getting old or something. Or just degenerate. But I hated the hands thing so much. Why can't I just have a can opener in my inventory. Right click the can. And use a can opener. And bandages. Dear God. have to pull stuff into my hands. Go through 5 different crafts/animations with stuff on the ground that I'm failing to understand. All the while bleeding out or running away. Like I said. Hardcore. Some kind of simulated realism I guess you could say. But I prefer even unturned. And rust is just more fun to me. But arma 3 dayz or exile? Oh baby just perfection. Inventory. Realism. Hardcore. And the original. But still not as good as arma 2 was
Mod support is better for arma 3 dayz as well. Ace full ballistics and medical realism. And I can play whatever time period I want. Whatever universe I want. Want to play DAYZ on the planet Cadia after it's invaded? You can. Want to play cold war? You can. Vietnam? Pakistan? Iraq? NI arms? Want to perform field surgery because your patients liver got shot by a bullet? Dealing with his shock and O2 stats and keeping sepsis away like some kind of doctor show. Bro it's all there. Tested. Works as well as arma ever will (insert arma bugs joke here)
It can be super painful, I've had many moments that seem to not register cuz ping (or maybe just Arma being Arma) 😅 Hoping this game blows up in Asia where I could actually experience this game in proper ping lol
bro i'm waaay too hooked. i didn't sink a ton of hours in arma 2 but this addiction reminds me of my dayz mod days. and also when i first got hooked on tarkov. same feels.
This game feels extremely refreshing compared to tarkov feel like there is way more emphasis on team work in this game and get that same feeling of not wanting to die to back track to the same position Tarkov feeling very stale as of late and disappointing with the abundance of cheating there is next to zero cheaters in reforger atm witch is very nice

What is this server guys? Like how the war is going on so long? When I played Arma Reforger, usually game could be from 1 to 3 hours max, but not like this, that's really imprassive!

when i snipe i go with no armor, makes repositioning really ez and quick. i try to keep the kit below 20kg, you sprint pretty quick
