I saw more weird ambulance car situation in Thailand: ambulance had and light and sound turned on, very bright and loud, but no one car moved to give a road. I watched it for several minutes, nobody cared, like ambulance didn't exist
Well, the struggle with the charging stations is the same as in Slovenia...just a few km souther from Deutschland. If it's not occupied with an ICE Passat or BMW 5.0 or Audi A6, it's not working or it has paying issues...
I own my BEV now for 2 years and 40.000km and never experienced a defect HPC charger or someone parking there who is not charging. But I only charge in Germany / Austria / Italy.
Hello from a fellow Slovene. Let's just speak English shall we... Last time tried to charge on Petrol Barje; 250 kW charger did not work for anyone. Trash Petrol app didn't do anything. Mercator Šiška Hypercharger 1 plug bricked itself trying to start charging with the app other one was taken. Tesla superchargers were completly full at Sheraton (it was summer so full of tourists). Porsche charger on Bravničarjeva worked, but expensive as heck with the WeCharge card from VW. Ljubljana desperately needs an Ionity charging station. This is just rediculous what crap infra we have in Slovenia. But I read that they'll build a big charging station on Rudnik shopping centre with Kempower chargers. Hopefully no trash app...
It’s common to get this kind of efficiency in a Southeast Asian climate, which is why EVs are the perfect solution here I drove a Kona Electric in Singapore and got 12.7kWh/100km
While I like the idea and convenience partly, I cannot get around the fact that pretty much all of them are way too slow and also noisy. I've seen BMW nail it in the i4 which is seriously fast and pretty silent, but Hyundai, Tesla, they're all way too slow to be practical. I could've opened it manually twice while waiting for it to open. To me, I'd rather have manual all the time. Too bad most manufacturers put this into a package where you cannot pick and choose what you (don't) want.
Charging in Thailand can be complicated. You need a lot of apps. Normally I use EV Station at the PTT gas stations because they work best - and there is always food and drinks around. I always check the app in advance. SO you can see inactive chargers and you can book a slot, too. The charging network from BYD also works quite good. But I also had problems at other chargers.
New markets should just buy chargers from brands which have proven reliable in Europe, like Alpitronic and Kempower, not ABB (always be broken) or Chinese stuff with terrible reliability and 200A cables.
Common practice in Costa Rica that emergency vehicles leave their special lights on, whether in an emergency or not. First time I was here I thought I was being pulled over as police was on my @ss with the lights in full Christmas mode, and they just kept going :O Especially disturbing in dark/rain when these light illuminate every water drop on your windows or heavy rain/traffic when you are not sure if you don't hear a siren with the lights and try to pull over, even there is no emergency.
Can't believe the variance in model versions, this one doesn't even have basic navigation, that's sooo odd. Even though it doesn't also have an internal power outlet, did it have V2L ?
In some countries an ambulance with flashing lights but no sirens means that the person they bring already passed away. Not sure about Thailand. Best country to hammer it in, if the flat 500 baht charge no matter what speed you are caught in excists.
Is it still 500 baht flat rate?.i heard it was changed to be based on speed. Last trip from Chiang Dao to Bangkok, I saw at least 5 or 6 laser controls.

The first released Ioniq 5 in Australia were 72kWh battery versions. Hyundai do weird crap with their versions in different markets. No idea why they make it difficult for themselves.
The fact that you pay only 11 € for 44 kWh on a Shell Charger is just insane. In Germany Shell Recharge is pretty expensive and you would end up at 30-35 € for the same amount of energy. Gas would cost roughly 50% more but that is still far away from the 200% markup for energy. Germany seems to be the only country where electric vehicles have no financial advantage.
Try the UK, Shell cost 85p/kwh, about €1 :( They are one of the most expensive operators here although most are pretty bad. Fortunately it's very cheap charging overnight at home.
It doesn't get cold that often in Thailand, I remember when cars shipped to S.E.Asia had AC but no heaters, because car manufactures would save a few cents per car by not installing a heater, same car in Australia or Europe (e.g. a corolla) would have heater and AC was an optional extra, So I guess Hyundai figured they could save some Won by not having heaters in cars for Thailand?
