Can't get enough of this still-life, early morning, meditative vibe. I feel like outsiders could call this pretentious, but there's a feeling that this captures that no other video I've seen does. The search for spots in a town in middle america. The early mornings in a skatepark by yourself. The dozens of attempts thrown at something techy with nobody to care around you. The one bang little pleasure tricks on small setups. Video of the year.
Interesting... it's really difficult for me to think about anything in BMX as pretentious. Then again art is often pretentious, and this is somewhat of a masterpiece. Would be interested to get an outsider's take on it though..
Thanks so much! I feel like we look at bmx pretty similarly. Those things are some of my favorite aspects of riding and it gets me hyped that the video had that impact on you. Now if only I could get out of bed early enough to utilize those morning hours you speak of..
I used to ride Bmx for about 2 years, and now i stopped about a year and a half ago, this video gave me so much nostalgia and it's making me wanna start riding bmx again 😅
This really captures what it's like to ride street for me. Not a music video or a perfume advert or an art short. Just a person, a bike, and the various urban landscapes that are reshaped by the rider's movements through them.
This is the closest anybody (myself included) has come to replicating on video the feelings I get, and experiences I have, while riding street alone. The buzzing of your cassette hub harmonizing with the endless hum of the city. Noticing random details like nails on a ledge, glass by a curb, mop buckets emptied behind a business, or a pallet in the way. The tracks your tires make on old concrete that subtlety tell the tale of what you did long after you leave. Ending the day silently watching the sun set behind an anonymous shopping plaza, somehow feeling completely satisfied. You captured BMX at its purest in this video.
Thanks so much for such a thoughtful comment. I think we're on the same wavelength when it comes to riding. This comment definitely resonated with me and it gets me stoked that there are others out there who appreciate the smaller details that come with riding bmx 👊
This is awesome!! Amazing skills with an artful mind and so peaceful. Really dug your perfect landings too. After that beyond massive hit on the box ramp! Dang!!
I can’t get enough of your videos! I watch them over and over. I love how well you tell the story of each spot with your B-roll I’ve started looking at spots differently to see how I can better tell the story of it. I can’t wait for the next video!
Man I'm going to say this and I know I'm not wrong but this is clearly a Dan thing. Watching this brought back a ton of good memories cause that's exactly what riding has been for me ever since I lived in PR, all the way to the last time I rode a couple days ago. About 99% of any footage there is of me, whether it is a single clip or a minute or 2 long edit or however long, was all self filmed. I like this.
Another wow. When I first clicked on that video I only downloaded to watch it on a flight. Just have to come back for a comment afterwards. Really loved the vibes in this video - so simple and so good. Thank you Dan! 🤗
Awesome, I really want to go and ride my bike right now, loved that you capture the beauty and essence of every trick, it's great to see you enjoy and love riding so much, it's contagious. And I have to mention THAT STEEZE THO Thanks Dan, i'm inspired now🦹
spectacular video, there is a lot of poetry both in the raiding style and in the filming, you really capture the essence of BMX street, the real one, the pure one, made only by you, your iron and the asphalt. tricks clean and consistent with the surrounding environment performed to perfection, especially the last ones on the funbox were something sublime!!!!!
Art, with a bike. Ten minutes look like 2 minutes with this type of parts. Style style and style. Just perfect 👌 (I see all around the World, tires cars song on the road, is a big problem for people just want to be caaaaaalm)
So cool man. Im in the over 40 club now. Not trying to get hurt and mostly riding with my 8 year old son around the neighborhood with almost nothing to play on. This reminds me of our little sessions together. Your obviously a much better rider than myself, but i feel the simplicity of a trick done correctly always beats the newer more techy styles of riding and youve captured that and inspired me beautifully here. Gonna push to get a 3-can as clean as yours.
Thank you! I'm 33 and am definitely leaning into simplicity more now than ever. I think it's the key to being able to do this for a while. So rad to hear you can get out with your son! I wanna see a 360 can
Meditative, beautiful art. Never seen something like this before. There is no need for music, there is enough music in the air, you just need too listen to it. I like riding the city just like this, no earpods for motivation needed - just let it flow and listen to the humming of the tires and the ratcheting hub.
it was the narration that got me withthe clean audio. it was so different at the time. it also it an emotional note for me too, i could feel exactly what you were talking about. thanks for making those. if you ever are feeling saucy.. make one more for me. id love to see it. have a good one man! long time subscriber:)@@danfoleybmx

All the slow mo might come off a little pretentious 😬. Thank you! @@gregtaylor9441

9:56 wow.. very precise. art of touch hop

Stoked you feel that way! It may be a cliche, but I love how a bike can be like a paint brush moving through a canvas of a spot

This captures it. No film has made me feel this way about my bike, validated.
this is work of art
nothing better than a solo street session
That is some amazing riding and filmmaking! I love the raw sounds of the bike and the city without music.
Thank you!
This is timeless and very inspiring
What an incredibly satisfying video. I can feel the cold air!
Cut up and raw, 100% style and genuine
The best type of video. Such great inspiration
Best there is. A welcome addition to the wide range of cinematic styles. Good work mate.

That’s awesome. Jump ramp at the end was sweet 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is awesome!! Amazing skills with an artful mind and so peaceful. Really dug your perfect landings too. After that beyond massive hit on the box ramp! Dang!!

Just brought me inner peace to watch.

Thanks! Stoked you found some motivation

Thanks! I usually go out of my way to find quiet spots and good times to ride them, so it's a bit of an illusion
