As soon as I heard that "South Africans are lazy," it was pretty clear this guy doesn't know much about what's going on in South Africa even though he claims to be from here. He's just throwing out some unfounded ideas he probably picked up from social media. Personally, as a South African through and through I have to respectfully disagree. South Africans have plenty of skills and there's really nothing that "illegal" foreigners have that we don't. The reason you see a lot of companies hiring foreigners here is because they're willing to take low paying jobs just to make ends meet. So it's not about us being lazy, it's about survival for them. That's why companies can get away with paying them less.

Unfortunately, South Africa's lack of law enforcement attracts criminals from around the world, not just other African countries. South Africa has become a haven for criminals. With the amount of excessive violent crime, I feel that most South Africans then put all the foreign Africans into the same box out of the need for self preservation. This is a very sensitive topic guys. I feel you need to tread lightly. I would like to give a little food for thought. Whilst I was travelling in Scotland, I met a Nigerian gentleman living there with whom I went on a dinner date. It was during the peak of the "Xenophobia" and Nigeria were threatening to close SA business in Nigeria. I made a joke with him and said "You know our countries are not friendly at the moment?" and he laughed and said "Yes, I understand. You are dealing with all the Nigerians we do not want in Nigeria." I, personally, do not like to participate too much in politics, but, through my personal experiences living in the CBD, I felt he had a valid point.

FYI when we were in exile we never integrated with other African or were pushed to refugee camps we never complained we just got on with it. And to this day we are the only African country that allows refugees from Africa and beyond to integrate within society, other countries banish them concentration camps yet we xenophobic.

It's imperative that we approach sensitive and multi-layered topics with the due diligence they warrant. While I thoroughly enjoy the dynamism and insight your channel offers, it's essential to ensure that when addressing issues of significant complexity, we do so on the back of meticulous research and informed perspectives. Selecting speakers on such subjects requires a certain responsibility to eschew baseless and potentially harmful assertions. We must guard against inadvertently minimizing the profound intricacies of these discussions or, worse, perpetuating unsupported stereotypes.
I believe that this content, though undoubtedly well-intentioned, seemed to have been developed with a haste that did not align with the gravity of the topic at hand. It is crucial to differentiate between the lighter, more entertaining segments such as your visits to the Farmers' Market and the profound, often delicate matters that resonate deeply within our society. I trust that this feedback is received as an encouragement for the channel to continue educating and engaging its audience, whilst always striving for content that is as thought-provoking and well-founded as it is entertaining.

I think it's imperative that we have these discussions, but this seemed a bit reckless on your part.

Especially on the eve of probably what will be the most contested elections since 1994. Foreign content creators need to stay off topics that cause civil unrest in other people's countries. Is that really too much to ask ? If civil unrest breaks out the US will put them in the first flights back home and free of charge. We don't have that option of emergency evacuation out of here.. Maybe that's why they now keep making these "SAns are xenophobic" videos and laughing about issues we don't even in the list bit find funny. Same way I that I as someone who isn't American wouldn't laugh about school shootings , gang violence, black poverty , disproportionate numbers of black prisoners against other races in US prisons or police brutality in the US. Guys we are heading to elections ! Please leave these thorny topics to political experts , political journalists , academics , real political activists and locals . Please ! Better yet go to Twitter and do your research for participants on pro SAn accounts like PutSouthAfricansFirst before doing these videos.

Most of our African brothers don't know how much we had to fight off the mistreatment from Europeans which they allow, because of desperation. That makes it difficult for us locals to fix these Europeans. Some of our African brothers move us backwards, they move against the grain... highly disappointing. I'm just mentioning one aspect. I wont even touch the drugs and crime issues, it is too heart breaking when your own try to destroy you.

I’m soo disappointed in Freedom Chasers what insult is this? That guy is not South African for starters. Secondly why must open borders be practice here in South Africa only? Tribalism and xenophobia is the same thing. South Africa doesn’t have a tribalism issue I grew up in vosloorus surrounded by all tribes and we get along very well I speak 7 languages cause we learn from each other. South Africans never went to Zimbabwe or Nigeria during the struggle of apartheid for shelter we stayed and we died for our freedom and our parents got jailed and beaten daily. We owe African countries nothing cause they never helped us with anything but problems. Angola and Libya are the only African countries that supported ANC and MKVA during the struggle. We got the highest unemployment rate in the world and you expect us to give 19 million foreigners jobs while our people suffer? Why do we always have problems with Nigeria and Zimbabweans when it comes to crime? They kill, rob, hijack, kidnap and sell drugs like no other human on earth. We got a budget of 96 Billion Rands on public health that only takes care of 48 million South Africans now they flood our hospitals like crazy all African countries run to South Africa to give birth and steal medicines. How can you give birth to 10 kids alone if you can’t afford them? Zimbabweans are tiring I won’t pretend. You need to interview someone who knows the history And current problems of SA than picking up an illegal immigrant on the street to interview. I reject this report

That man is not telling the truth when he said all Black South Africans come from congo. He is merely regurgitating the colonial propaganda which he was fed by our colonial education. This theory of Bantu expansion was popularized by W.A. Holden who wanted to justify the occupation of land in SA by colonists.
He claimed that when white people invaded SA, the Bantu people were absent and nowhere to be seen. He popularized the concept of "vacant land". He said that Blacks entered South Africa in just about the same time when whites passed the Koi river from Cape of Good Hope. If Black South Africans come from Congo, why is it that there are NO Zulus, Xhosas, Tswanas, in Congo? Our languages is related the same way a German and Dutch are related. No one knows about the past, we will simply make theories which are not necessarily true.
We are told that humanity started in SA, hence we have Cradle of Mankind. In Southern Africa that is why we have prehistoric people that you cannot find anywhere in the world. They are called the "Masarwa" in Botswana and Khoi-San in South Africa. Majority of them live in SA, but today you get too many fake Khoisan especially in the coloured community who claim to be from KhoiKhoi or San community.

This conversation. I promise you we love our brothers and neighbouring countries...but hell I understand the frustration from people who are living in abject poverty who cannot even find jobs and then are being exploited and fighting for resources with illegal immigrants and others streaming in through the borders. This speaks of a useless and ineffective government . But ultimately the fights will be fought in these communities. So I understand why people are angry. Also if you look at the violent crimes and bad behaviour ...tons of it is by foreigners.and we aren't allowed to say anything. But imagine if you as a South African try to misbehave in other countries...omw .. death penalty and harsh prison sentences. So ultimately it's about bad governance.

Another thing, tribalism, only people from tribalistic countries would look at how we interact with one another as tribalism. These People wish that we hated each other that much so that they can have something to identify with. We don't hate each other, even racists failed to turn us against each other while in their countries, where they are just black people, they were able to commit genocides against each other. We joke and tease one another in South Africa, it goes way back but I wouldn't expect a foreigner that arrived yesterday to know that.

I thought foreigners by now would understand why Xenophobia happened and acknowledge that it happened and that its not a South African issue but an African issue and add how South Africa is a United States of Africa e.t.c and not draw or adress the situation cluelessly

I thought y'all watched BBC Africa Eye documentary on Dudula and it's activities. Your response?

    • @ZuesLayza

@@samuelwainaina1155 let me reply to you ,since you watched it on Television.
      Now ,What is Xenophobia?
= Xenophobia is a dislike against other people from other countries.
Now ,What was the cause of Xenophobia.
=The Apartheid regime ,the system of laws that was introduced against blacks in South Africa made some to be close minded ,to not trust other people from other countries and to remain vigilant and suspicious of them.
Operation Dudula and it's Activities on Foreigners :
This Operation was created to get rid of foreigners who came with bad intentions to bring drugs to our society and hire criminals to do their work and remove immigrants who are here illegally and are part of those who are ruining our country.
It's the same saying when Barack Obama during his debate on Immigrants in America, that yes Immigrants will be allowed to enter and start their Normal American dream in America but only those with good intentions and with no criminal record ,same as Donald Trump ,when he said he will build a wall against Mexican and they will pay for it ,and that was created to avoid having illegal immigrants because some of them have bad intentions.
      I hope I answered you ....

South Africans didn’t come from Congo. We were here since the beginning of time. Here is a title of a book talking about Xhosa men fighting against Arabs who were enslaving Ethiopian children here in South Africa taking them God knows where: Children of Hope: The Odyssey of the Oromo Slaves from Ethiopia to South Africa
    Book by Sandra Rowoldt Shell

This man is Swati from Swaziland not a South African Swati then why is he representing SAns becoz he doesn't have the lived experience of South African Swati. Swaziland chose to be country to be its own sovereign state ryt then why does he have to represent a South African when he has, he's own country Swaziland.
In SA there is Tribalism i agree but it isn't that prevalent as other many African countries instead in SA Tribalism has been replaced by Patriotism. The last Tribal killing in SA that has ever happened between SAns was during the apartheid days which the Apartheid Govt had the third hand on it to even start with, wouldn't even necessary call it Tribal killing but political massacre during apartheid.
SOUTH AFRICANS are not lazy its just matter of cheap labour, nothing more nothing less. I dont think anyone coud be lazy when they don't have an income, in this economic trajectory and inflation. it's like people forget that in SA there are also many people living in poverty who wouldn't refuse a job just becoz they feel lazy. If SAns are really lazy then who was the majority of the working class during the apartheid from all sectors of SAn economy?? It was black SAns. If SAns are so lazy and they so energetic and smart, why can't they use their so-called great Qualities in their own countries?
2ndly South Africa has huge problem of illegal immigration which our govt has failed for years to try and curb it. One of the reasons most of the SAn crimes remain unsolved is becoz of illegal immigration, which many of the culprits are even harder to trace since they not registered under AFIS (Automated Fingerprints Information System). Just two weeks back different foreigner shop owners were arrested across Gauteng province becoz they sold expired foods to Children, some got sick, and some died from consuming these foods. Moreover, they were asked to show their passports which they failed to issue. Even a factory producing these unsafe items was discovered? what picture does that say about foreigners.
when SAns were in exile in other African countries they were kept in Camps and had curfews, we didn't do as we please but here in SA refugees have so much freedom that they allowed to assimilate in our communities with no curfews or camps whatsoever.

It’s obvious that this dude is not from South Africa because when you said African Americans was in slavery, he should have corrected you, South African was also in slavery before they were in apartheid, they got their freedom 30 years before african-Americans got their freedom,

It's actually quite simple and universal, South Africa is the most established country in the African continent so it's locals are trying to protect it from societal threats.
The same problem exists in America with its southern border with Mexico.
South Africans have no problem with foreigners who add value. Americans and Europeans are a rare sight who never cause problems so they're welcome.
Any country facing an illegal immigrant crises develops a fearful attitude towards the invaders.
I saw the other comments mentioning your guest is not a local, he's totally gonna get a hiding from the locals 😂😂😂

When I heard him said South Africans are threatened, I simply stopped listening. Please check the stats about South African, understand the nature of the country. This guy must provide his credentials. Where is this guy from....what gives him the right to even provide an opinion....His narrative is so worrisome....so superficial...my advise to provide your viewers with a well informed educated narrative, please look the well grounded and knowledgeable South Africans😢😢. Then you will have a balanced view. There are very fundamentals issues in the country but provide a balanced view and importantly the TRUTH. You cannot speak of God and yet you peddle what is not TRUE.😢😢😢
