- Today, I'm unboxing and reviewing the new Reve De Camelia highlighter and Sublimage primer from Chanel. The highlighter retails for $80 and comes with a mini kabuki brush. The primer can be used as a daily moisturizer, illuminating foundation primer or spot treatment. I hope you enjoy hearing my thoughts! xx

I never bought a highlighter from Chanel. I always thought meh, I don’t use highlighter that much. But my god, this piece is breathtaking, I could not resist this time. I will cherish this for a long time. This is my kind of jam, a subtle highlighter is what I love. I am glad I waited and bought the best piece for me that I will use and will love looking at that design. It looks fantastic on you Erin!
For those that want something similar to the primer, the camellia water cream does exactly the same, it has the same pearlescent effect, less warm in tone for sure, but it also used as a moisturiser, it has camellia Alba extract, hyaluronic acid, and plupms the skin beautifully, and best thing? Is €54 instead of €210 so there you go ;)

@@maddyfox8545 it is great in all skin types, I have combination skin and it doesn’t make my face look greasy, is super lightweight and absorbs quickly leaving a lovely radiance

I actually like to buff the highlighter before putting on blush. I find buffing it gives me a more angelic glass skin look. Plus many baked highlighters shine best and pick up best with a more dense brush

Mix 1 pump SUBLIMAGE PERFECTOR , 1/2 pump of HYDRA BEAUTY CAMELLIA WATER CREAM and 1/2 pump of LE BLANC ROSY DROP!! Try this combo as a primer under LES BEGIES WATER TINT.. it’s honestly amazing 🤩✨

Great review! The texture of the Sublimage is so gorgeous, I was blown away when I tested it. I don't usually spend so much for primer but I may just have to pick this one up!

I absolutely LOVE the Sublimage moisturizer, vanilla bean scrub and the jar foundation (although I wish it were in a pump or tube). You got me hooked on the jar foundation a few years ago when you bought your first jar. I live in N. Florida and find that the foundation is beautiful AND it is a life saver whenever my skin is dry (like been in sun or doing treatment). Just like you have said, it is the only foundation that makes your skin feel better at the end of the day. I have normal/mature skin. The Chanel highlighter is so natural. Maybe Chanel knew what they were doing by using a kabuki brush for the highlighter/glow powder. It looks stunning on you!!! I just ordered one! Thanks again for your reviews!

Omg the foundation looks so beautiful!!! I'm still waiting for this highlighter to be available in Canada 😭😭😭 I want to try the Kabuki brush on the guerlain meteorites! But I'm definitely buying this for how beautiful it is lol also I LOVE Chanel makeup! I would love to see a blush ranking because of all the new blushes that were released last year! ❤️
Still waiting for the highlighter to come in stock. Now, on the Chanel website, there is a demo of the model applying it with the kabuki brush, kind of as a powder in different areas all around the face.
This was one of your most helpful videos ever Erin. Thank you. Great great job. As you say, this highlighter is creating such a buzz and I needed to hear about it from people who really knew Chanel. You are one of them and this really solidified my view. I am going to purchase this highlighter for sure. I have it on hold to pick up this weekend. I’m in Australia and I’m not sure how to make it fit into my Autumn/Winter looks but I fall into the category of “have to have it” people 🤣🤣🤣. It will be an exception in my no buy year. A Mother’s Day gift. You seemed worried throughout the video about your eye look and whether the highlighter was working on your eyes. You needn’t have. It was and the look was one of the best I’ve ever seen on you. Absolutely stunning. I think you’re right about the highlighter being of benefit to a wide range of skin tones. Because it’s a glass type of highlighter (rather than having a shade as such) I think everyone will be able to use it, which is fab! I also like the more subtle looks, so again this I approve. Finally the kabuki brush. 🤣🤣🤣. I was actually on the Chanel site this morning reading about why they included it. They envisaged that some people would simply want to put the highlighter all over their faces, so that’s one use. And secondly, they thought others would, as you guessed, like to use it on their body (décolleté and shoulders in particular) so that’s what it’s there for. I personally appreciate the inclusion, given the price. I hope they don’t all end up in land fill and people find a way to use them. And finally the l’extait lip that you tried was also so helpful. I looked at all of the shades online over and over. I didn’t think I could find any I liked. But seeing one on somebody (you 😊) was super helpful. That shade looked lovely. I will look into it. The highlighter is a must for me, because I am very pale and most highlighters are tooooo much for me, so this one is actually pretty perfect. My previous perfect highlighter was also from Chanel, I think 2013 collection, I used it up and was looking for a replacement very longtime, making plenty wrong purchases. Happy to have it now, recommend a lot for pale type.

Great video. I think Megan Markle uses the sublimage foundation. I didn’t love it- was a bit greasy feeling for me. Much prefer the No. 1 foundation but I may try it again, I only have the sample. The highlighter is gorgeous!

Thank you for your video! very informative and nice! I have a question: I have never seen a person whose face is much lighter than her neck. Do you self-tan your body but not your face? Also, I feel when you apply your foundation it looks much darker than your skin before it is all spread all over the face, while the concealer looks much much lighter- do you intentionally choose darker foundations than your skin and lighter concealers than your skin? I usually try to match bth to my skin, so I am curious....Thank you
She does self tan and indeed not her face. She mentioned that she doesnt like the smell of it. I believe she matches the foundation to her body... and chooses a concealer to highlight/ have a brighter undereye area.

Ha - I am not the only one still hanging on to Plisse Lumiere de Chanel. I just got my Reve de Camelia highlighter today, and thought - hey, this looks like my ancient Plisse de Chanel one! So I swatched them, and they are almost exactly the same, which is great, because the older one is on its last legs.
lol My Plisse Lumiere is looking like a petri dish but I can't get myself to declutter it! xx
While I "somehow" resined myself to the fact that the new N1 de Chanel foundation is worth the $$ hearing how much that primer is makes me gasp. Lol. I stopped by a Chanel counter recently to check if maybe they got in the N1 products & asked her about eye creams. I'd tried the N1 and really liked it but was curious about what else they had. She told me how their sublimage one would be "life-changing".. At $210 I'm sure it would. Lol. She gave me samples which I'm very happily loving but unless I win the lottery it'll never happen...
I totally agree! Chanel needs to get a grip on reality...that's just way too much to spend on a makeup product!

I got this highlighter. It's more gold than pink. It's shimmery not glittery. I don't normally wear highlighter but I could use this one as it's almost transparent in color. I think I will keep it.

I’m embarrassed to say my favorite Chanel Beauty thing. It’s the Le Base Eye Lash Primer, and a ridiculous purchase considering my ride-or-die mascara is Maybelline Great Lash. The Le Base makes the Great Lash go on like silk, the two are amazing. But it’s a little crazy to buy a $32 lash primer for a $8 mascara, so I’ve been getting by on samples with purchase 😅
Hi Erin love your videos. Just wanted to say that retinols or retin A makes the skin very, very, sensitive with long term use.
I believe it's not worth it, to cause the skin to suffer. Skin appreciates gentle lotions long term. I'm speaking from experience, and concern for you.

don't get me wrong you are gorgeous but you need to get the tanner on all of your neck and the backs of your hands. It just doesn't look good without full coverage.
Actually, your comparison swatches convinced me to purchase the camellia powder! I love how subtle it is! I had talked myself out of it because I thought $80 was pretty expensive just to get that gorgeous embossing but it really does look ethereal on the face and with my fair, dry skin most highlighters give me that shadow effect when facing straight on. This really does look different to me and so beautiful! Plus it will last for a very long time applying it the way you did! My husband may not thank you but I sure do! I love the Sublimage line from Chanel, but that 3 in 1 I will pass on. If I tried to use it as a moisturizer, my skin would drink it up way too fast but it looked beautiful as a primer on you! Someone commented below how to get the same look for less with other Chanel products, so I might try that!
Edit: it was @VampMetalGlamour and she suggested the Camellia water cream since it has that pearlescent finish. I will be checking that out!
