I wrote the submission by "Claudia." It sounded in your telling of the story that my fingers typed that I was a "planter" and grant writer for the Spokane Tribe. I meant to type "planner" (community development and transportation) and grant writer. The Tribe does have staff who do plant trees, but I was not one of them. However, I'd bet some of those people have had better sightings than I had. Also, the rez is, of course, in NE WA, not NW WA, as I apparently wrote. Thanks very much for reading my less than riveting story.

Friday night my wife and brother heard a very loud tree break on the neighbors property ,so loud the neighbors heard it and they where inside their house. After the neighbors finished their flashlight investigation me and my wife walked across the little dirt road to investigate for ourselves. As we walked up I was reminding her of one of the growls I'd heard in the past and all of a sudden we got growled at. It was very intense and deep. We decided to turn around and get in the house lol. It nearly scared the poop out of us. We live in heavily wooded area by the rivers in Walker county Alabama

I have had a face to face encounter with one while deer hunting. also been ran out of the woods one night at the mouth of lost creek and mill creek here in Carbon Hill many years ago. I sure would like to get with someone and see if we can find one. I find anyone to go. LOL. Scared I guess.

It really gives me goosebumps to know they are in this region. I'm in W Tennessee and in my Childhood my cousins and I spent all our waking hours outside. In the country, and often in the trees that were a line that ran across our farm, the lane we called our driveway and on across our land and Granddad's that was next to ours. We had about 500 Acres collectively.
Wild Blackberries and Dewberries were lush along this creek, apple, pear, and peach trees were alas I plentiful through our properties. This creek ran into the Forked Deer River system that nets through NW Tennessee. We were about 30 miles, as the crow flies, from the Mississippi River and our land revealed vast artifacts from the Native Peoples o of years hone by.
Now, they likely transverse our farm, and to think they may have watch us kids play some 40-50 years ago.
      Woo ... gets my tummy!

It is sad to me that so many people keep their stories suppressed and untold for fear of ridicule and disbelief. I hope you will tell Mr. Cam your story. I have had a few strange things happen to me in my 73 years and shared them with my family and a few other people over the years. No one has openly made fun of or jeered at me, and only one person made a lame attempt to try to explain an incident away. Maybe some shook their heads and think I am weird privately, but I just don’t care. I know it wouldn’t have been a good thing for me to keep these incidents to myself for years, and you can certainly trust Mr. Cam, who I have come to believe is a fine, decent, and discreet gentleman.

When I was a kid my dad had a friend who had stayed in the Honey Island swamp for six months when he was a young man. I did the same thing after high school in a different part of Louisiana. He was actually one of the few people who I heard reference Bigfoot back then. I just remember the comment- “If there’s a Bigfoot in Louisiana, it’s in the Honey Island swamp.”

Do you ever watch the show 'Naked and Afraid?' Well, one of the episodes takes place in the 'Honey Island' swamp area. During their stay, the couple recorded these very scary sounds that weren't identifiable to them, and I believe that both had much outdoor experience. Anyways, it's a very interesting episode and recording.

I grew up in Slidell, La. in the ’60s and '70s within a mile of the Honey Island Swamp. I do laugh when folks say near New Orleans. The swamp holds many secrets and so do the locals. Creole's and Cajuns alike rarely speak of encounters, and then just blurt them out years later making everyone around them say, WTH when did that happen. I even have my own. I've been all over the world and seen some scary locations but the Honey Island Swamp is a scary place. It appears so primordial that when you're there you almost expect to see strange stuff.

Hey we used to drive across the I -10 bridge to the fireworks stands in Slidell back then they were Illegal in NOLA I used to shrimp between the I - 10 and the Rigolets . We used to come out of the Irish Bayou do you remember in mid March during those years that the crawfish would cross the 10 by the Michoud exit sometimes shutting down the freeway . Those were the days hope your memories ofbthose years brings a smile to your face when you recall them take care Hunter

I like that you don’t spend too much time planning your videos. It doesn’t have to be all planned out to be good. Just picking which ones to read is enough! And I bet you get lots, so choosing is enough work! Your images are always nice to watch but I close my eyes mostly, unless you’re filming your dogs! Then I’m sure to watch. All of these are interesting, as usual. I would not like to be the hunter sitting the tree when it got shaken. I am so totally with you on seeing a Sasquatch. If I ever do, I want to be in a car moving in the opposite direction. A glimpse would be just fine. A glimpse and a getaway car! Thanks, Cam! Also, not sure if I thanked you yet for labeling your marathons!! It helps me keep track! Don’t ever want to miss one.

@@josephdietz3446 Katrina wiped out Jazzland and the area between Hayne and Michoud, even all the way down to the parish line, is now heavily wooded. A lot of wild hogs and other wildlife. The city built a refuge area off Dwyer and we can go hiking through the swamp on elevated walkways like down on Lafitte. The area around Eden Isles is very built up, and there is a small area around Michoud that's populated, but otherwise, it's the wild wild East. The Irish Bayou Casino burned down in the last 2 years and that area is now completely overgrown. I actually love the abundance of wild life while still being in Orleans parish, but I can do without the nightly insect swarms. It used to be just termite season when we'd see swarms but this year, we've had midge flies, love bugs, mosquitoes (of course!) and this week it's some sort of moth hybrid. Ugh.
