I live in Redding and particularly enjoyed the story re: the campground at Shasta Lake. For your future reference, the Sierra Nevada mountains end at Mt. Lassen (elev.10K feet), a volcano 50 miles to the east of Redding, about 75 miles south of Mt. Shasta. Continuing northward from Mt. Lassen is the beginning of the Cascade mountain range, extending into Washington, meeting with the Trinity Alps coming west from the coast.

Hey Dixie, i am a forty plus year Master Maine Guide. And i know the area he is talking about. We Guides train hard. The education and testing is serious business. The Maine Guide Tradition goes back over 100 years. We are licensed to hunt, fish, Sea kayak, canoe, snowshoe, backpack and mountaineer ice or run rafts down our many class white water rivers. Basically, if its recreational outdoors Maine Guides are licensed to do it. Except Big Foots. Maine Inland Fish and Wildlife does not recognize Sasquatch. Figures right?
Wow!! You work hard and we out here appreciate all that you do. As a fellow listener I appreciate your input. I love when locals from the area that Cam talks about gives us all a little more insight. Thank you so much
Mowm88. I have watched two cats grow up here on my mountain. They frequent my area. Warden told me they don't recognize them because the dept would loose federal restocking funding if they successfully become a sustaining population. Its all in the numbers!
Good day Cam!! I was at work listening to “What if it’s True” and to my surprise the story I sent you titled “The Bailey Cove Incident” was read by you. Thank you so much for sharing it with all your listeners. You did an amazing job reading it. You were also “spot on” with your comments at the end. It really was the scariest experience I’ve had in my 50+ years, and only recently can look back at it and talk to the kids and wife about it. I have a very short second hand story I can share at a later date that my brother in-law confided with me about. It happened near Shasta Caverns which is on Shasta Lake and very near where we were camping. Thanks again and keep up that great work!!
Norm, I would love to hear your story about "Shasta Caverns"! I've spent many years camping, fishing, water skiing at Lake Shasta. I have no doubts that Shasta is a Sabe/Sasquatch stomping grounds. I look forward to your story. Sacramento, California.
I recently move to the Redding area and am exploring the different sights to see. I’ve been to the Bailey Cove camp ground and the caverns. So the stories are of great interest to me. I am not looking to encounter one of these huge creatures but because I love to go in the forest I want to be knowledgeable where they are concerned. I’m about two and a half hours from Willow Creek, which some call the Big Foot capital because Patty was filmed at Bluff Creek in 1967 near the town. They have a Big Foot Museum you can visit and read stories of sightings. Very interesting!
Cameron do you get any better. No, you’re the best! Loved ‘Twas the night before Bigfoot. All the other stories were great also. I guess you know you’re my hero. If not then you do now. Love you dear one! LaNita. ❤️😍🥰😘❣️❣️
Got my weave on to and I'm ready to hold on tight ,ohhh goodness I lived in Maine for 24yrs ...let's see what's happening and WHERE ...I always want to know where the town's and city's where I've lived before...NH MASSACHUSETTS AND MAINE ARE THE ONES I PERK UP AND HOLD MY BREATH!! This is a funny story about my Mother. No no bigfoot or anything. Before I was old enough to go to school Dad was a cowboy working for an outfit south of Flagstaff Arizona. Anyway, this is Mom's tale, Now I was born in 1949 to give you some time perspective. Now back then there was no running water, no indoor plumbing. Closest neighbors were about 10 miles away at a logging camp. to get there you went to nowhere and turned left. Back to story, It was getting bed time and Mom went to to the outhouse. She got about halfway there when she saw what she thought was a man standing in the snow by the path. She says she let out a scream, fell over in the snow and no longer needed to go to the outhouse. Now all of this happened all at once and by the she landed in the snow she realized it was a snowman me and my brother had build during the day. The story about the white Squach reminded me of this. 72 now and these memories pop up every now and again and are cherished because it was a simpler more peaceful time and I thought I would just share as I am pretty much alone now and no one to tell these stories to. Now don't think were really out in the sticks we had a telephone, we were part of the forest service network and our phoneline was the top two wires on the barbed wire fence. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did remembering and writing it down. Take care and remember the good times P.S. it sucks to get old alone, if you have some older relative or neighbors who are living alone, go visit them. You will both be happier.
In the hundreds of hours I've listened to this channel and many others during lockdown, I've been less shocked about bigfoot and dogman but more truly disturbed by the commonality of child abuse by Anerican children. I've been encouraged by how many times a Momma bigfoot offered comfort or the beings stepped in to help. God help us so-called humans with our humanity. God bless Dixie Cryptid & community. ❤
Good point, many characters different personalities. Bed wetting repeats = emotional trauma. 🥺Seems more aggressive types in diff region male Sasquatch vs the silver ones as wise Elders.
Awesome podcast Cam. I don't believe the stories could ever get any better or more frightening than tonight's! Many thanks to those submitters and to you, of course for your narration. Merry Christmas to one and all...
Cam, you seem like a nice man. You make me remember there are still good people in the world. We would probably all be heartbroken to know just how many children are abused. I had a real hard life as a child, but I know there are kids that had it worse! And I've met so many people in my life that have stories that would make your blood boil! Don't let the world and the bad people in it, harden your heart! It's a road that there is no coming back from
I just received my first Yeti bars order a couple of days ago. I got a bar of Glacier for myself, Violet for my friend and The Dude for her 18 year old son. All three of us just love the soaps. These soaps are so gentle on the skin and moisturizing. And the scents....heavenly! If you haven't tried the Yeti products yet, you may want to pick up some for holiday gifts while they are on sale. It only took 5 days for me to receive mine. Thanks for introducing us to these products, Cam.
@@carolinagrammy2735 I haven't tried their salve yet, but if you can afford it while it's on sale, I would sure recommend adding that as part of a gift. And a little hint...if you have a smelly dog, you can rub one of the soap bars down his/her back and it's like a shot of deodorant. LOL Although, I wouldn't actually use it for bathing pets. Hopefully, Cam will see this hint too.
@@yetibars7534 You are so very welcome. It's rare to come across products that deserve a good review these days. Yeti products earned my respect and my business. Merry Christmas and may God bless you with a strong and prosperous business and a future filled with only good things.
Becky, there’s a special place in Heaven for people who were abused. God Bless you, and God Bless your family. More great stories Cam! Merry Christmas Cam to you and yours.
There are recent findings, on bed wetting. The euretha, isn't completely developed, as some children grow older, the bed wetting stops bc the euretha has to mature. A lot of people, thought their child was lazy and didn't want to get up to use the restroom... sad. Very sad.
Cam thank you for all your hard work, and to all you brave brothers/sisters for sharing your experiences. This is truly a place where you can explain and not be judged.
I just can’t get enough of these stories! Your voice is so comforting! Thank you for taking the time to make people happy to see the Dixie crypted logo show up as a notification
I used to live in Redding. Yes, it's in northern California. Shasta Lake has an extensive history of sightings and from what I've read, many of them do not seem to be what you would call "friendly" encounters. I have read of at least one other incident at Bailey Cove Campground, which if true, was witnessed by many. The story is on the Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization's old website. It's kind of a long story, but basically around 11:30 p.m. on June 18, 1980, something large started circling the packed campground, getting closer and closer, all the while emitting bone-jarringly loud howls and grunts that from the description, were probably similar to the famous Ohio Howl recording. It woke up the entire campground and brought everyone out of their tents, campers and RVs. At least one camper actually saw the creature for a moment by the edge of the woods, reportedly exclaiming, "There it is!!! God, it was huge! To hell with this!" The man was so shook-up, he entered his camper and returned a moment later with a shotgun, firing it into the air three times to drive it away. It apparently worked, because the creature went silent for several minutes, before resuming its howls from further away as it retreated back into the woods. Soon, all was quiet again, but by that point, everyone in the campground had had enough and were already hurriedly packing up to leave. Nobody wanted to stick around, just in case the thing decided to come back.
Cam, Don't stress on how u pronounce names and locations. Everyone's an expert n know it all online. It doesn't hurt ur stories at all. Thanks for making a bad work day better.
I love the stories and look forward to them. The longer the better ♥️ once u see a Bigfoot u can never unsee it. It is with u forever. My sighting was when I was very young but after 60 yrs it's still fresh in my mind . Thank you for what u do .
Cam, I agree 110% ! There's a difference between a spanking and beating. Anyone who abuses children need to be dealt with in a very specific and intense fashion.....I'm sorry she went through that as a child. I appreciate her sharing with us and I hope she shares more. Be blessed folks and Happy Holidays!
I live about a half hour from the Maine share at the beginning of the video. I have had a handful of experiences in the small town on the coast of Maine that I cannot explain by any other known natural things. One being a very large hand pushing in on my tent in the very early hours of morning. I have hunted fished camped and explored the woods of Maine for over 30 years. I have even encountered a mountain lion in my yard and about 12ft away. I could sense something stalking me multiple evenings as I was working late and would do yard work after till after midnight on our new home. It took me a couple weeks to actually believe that I had the encounter I did. There are large places in Maine that are practically untouched by humans. I enjoy the stories that are shared here and a couple other sites. It helps me to know that I am not the only one that these things happen to.
Yes cam several people are saying longer is better and I agree listening to you for hours cause I have your cast go from one to the next to the next so yes the longer you want to make them the better.

I’m in the U.K., Spend a lot of time wild camping on Dartmoor, Seen a lot of strange things on the Moor, Dartmoor not known for Bigfoot but have seen things that I won’t put out in public for fear of being a laughing stock. Absolutely love the account on these podcasts, I’m a big believer & I intend to proof what I have seen on the Moor with trail cameras, No ones done it yet so hopefully I can come back with my own accounts for you.

I have to just say, that story by Becky really touched me. Having had a painful, abusive childhood as well, this really affected me, and I must say, that mother of hers should be REALLY THANKFUL that Becky is decent enough to care for her, especially is SHE had any part of that abuse. Some parents really do not deserve the good kids/adults that they get to have. God bless.
Can there’s no big foot shirts with a Santa hat on this year. Oh I got one last year so I’m glad I did. But I thought it odd that was none thus year. Lol love ya! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁☃️❄️🎄💂🏻♀️
Oh my gosh, the Shasta story was one of the best written stories on here. I actually felt like I was there, which I don't normally experience. As frightening as it was I really appreciated his injection of humor here and there. It lessened the tension. This would have made a good movie sequence. He is a good writer. I am glad it was cathartic for him.
Well said I agree there are many aggressive encounters around Mount Shasta they presume they frequent the lava flow tubes in that area very interesting not sure why they're so grumpy there
Awesome podcast as usual. Always enjoy listening to you read the stories. Unfortunately, some of us experience awful abuse growing up. My cousin, who's like a brother to me, has a saying and I always clung to those words. He said "the best revenge is living well." Those abusers sure get upset when they see their victims go on to live a good life. I hope the lady in the story is living her very best life!
I lived in Ogden Utah with my Dad for about 3 1/2months in 1989. I worked in a banquet TV dinner Factory there, it was way too cold for me & ended up working at a dog food plant. I remember that there were a lot of cute girls in Ogden. If you like driving fast, the Bonnyville flats are not far from there! The abduction thing is a real thing . It sounds like that's what happened to your dog . I know that it's a real thing because it happened to my dad, mother, sister and I around 1977 . It happened on the outskirts of Barstow California . I wrote my story in April 2020 during the lockdown & shared it with a channel before I discovered this channel . It's called strange but true stories . The name of the episode is called " We were missing 2 hours after seeing a UFO ". It is 100% THE TRUTH! I still to this day have no idea what happened & I'm not sure I want to know !👍🇺🇸

Thank you so much
Much Respect for your Dedication to your career and glad the big feets haven't scared you away,😂
Maine Inland Fish and Wildlife also don't recognize the Mountain Lion existing in Maine though you hear scads of stories about those being there too.
Mowm88. I have watched two cats grow up here on my mountain. They frequent my area. Warden told me they don't recognize them because the dept would loose federal restocking funding if they successfully become a sustaining population. Its all in the numbers!
@@mowm88 Virginia doesn't either
I really like listening to them. I'm listening to this one a second time.
It was a really good story Norm. I appreciate that you sent it to me to narrate.
Norm, I would love to hear your story about "Shasta Caverns"! I've spent many years camping, fishing, water skiing at Lake Shasta. I have no doubts that Shasta is a Sabe/Sasquatch stomping grounds. I look forward to your story. Sacramento, California.
BTW it's Lake Shasta.
Shasta Lake is the town.
Great story!
Absolutely loved your story... especially the humor you inserted...
LaNita. ❤️😍🥰😘❣️❣️

YIKES 2009 I WAS THERE STILL THAT YEAR!!😰‼
Thank u Cam and all those who send in there encounters/ story's/ experience, call it what you want, I don't want to offend anyone, seeing how we have some ultra sensitive people who just get offended easily,,,toughen up ! People who complaining about.. good job on the gentleman who sent in his recorded story ..
Merry Christmas to the cam family I pray that the Lord will bless y’all this season.
Take care and remember the good times
P.S. it sucks to get old alone, if you have some older relative or neighbors who are living alone, go visit them. You will both be happier.
Thanks for the great story
I enjoyed reading your story !!!! 😊
Some Bigfoot harass women/children, just like some humans, covered by some of Dixie's podcasts!
Good point, many characters different personalities. Bed wetting repeats = emotional trauma. 🥺Seems more aggressive types in diff region male Sasquatch vs the silver ones as wise Elders.
This mr Henry kicks ass with his lovely voice play!!
Awesome podcast Cam. I don't believe the stories could ever get any better or more frightening than tonight's! Many thanks to those submitters and to you, of course for your narration. Merry Christmas to one and all...
Agreed these r scary.i was gonna get to bed 2 hrs ago but here it's ten to midnight 😁
It's a road that there is no coming back from
Oh my, the Dixie ......a great treat for us.....💘💕💓💝❤

I just received my first Yeti bars order a couple of days ago. I got a bar of Glacier for myself, Violet for my friend and The Dude for her 18 year old son. All three of us just love the soaps. These soaps are so gentle on the skin and moisturizing. And the scents....heavenly! If you haven't tried the Yeti products yet, you may want to pick up some for holiday gifts while they are on sale. It only took 5 days for me to receive mine. Thanks for introducing us to these products, Cam.
Thank you for the heads up. It sounds like the perfect last minute gift to me 😉
@@carolinagrammy2735 I haven't tried their salve yet, but if you can afford it while it's on sale, I would sure recommend adding that as part of a gift. And a little hint...if you have a smelly dog, you can rub one of the soap bars down his/her back and it's like a shot of deodorant. LOL Although, I wouldn't actually use it for bathing pets. Hopefully, Cam will see this hint too.
Thanks for the awesome review ma'am. The Yeti Brothers are humbled by your kind words.

Yes, Cam, Shasta is in Northern California, just north of Redding.
Have been fly fishing in deep Maine and their guides are extreme trained and capable.

Making homage onion soup and Baileys and coffee bring it on thank you for your kindness. T
Really liked the Christmas one. Very cute
Kenneth, what a fantastic story/poem! You did sooo good! Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your family!😊

Love the voice recording and the Christmas ornaments!
Thankyou Cam for standing up for this child and other abused children.
AMEN

I have to just say, that story by Becky really touched me. Having had a painful, abusive childhood as well, this really affected me, and I must say, that mother of hers should be REALLY THANKFUL that Becky is decent enough to care for her, especially is SHE had any part of that abuse. Some parents really do not deserve the good kids/adults that they get to have. God bless.

I like these stories so much that I am listening to it again. Keep the stories coming Cam, you do a great job.
