I think they'll have to improve their quality if the larger companies will start buying their lifts, I'm thinking it is possible some smaller mountains may purchase some more chairlifts from them
They were taken over by the HTI group, the same group that owns Leitner, Poma, and Skytrak, so I doubt we’ll see another MND lift, as HTI it wouldn’t make sense to compete with themselves, that’s why HTI merged Leitner and Poma in America
This lift has had a crazy amount of issues considering it's supposed to be more reliable than the old one. It hasn't run full speed since opening, the bubbles don't close for empty chairs keeping snow and water off the seats, many of the chairs are "broken", and the lift goes on mechanical hold at least once or twice a week. I understand this is MND's first lift in the US but the opening has kind of been a failure. Issues in the first few weeks are expected but this lift has been running for over a month now and it's still having tons of problems. IMO they should have just gone with a doppelmayr or Poma saving them tons of headaches. Watervill made a lot of excuses using the "supply chain issues" scapegoat but I think people can see through that lie.
I rode this morning, and was net very impressed. It kept stopping, I don’t think it was running full speed either. After to rides on this, I rode Valley run the rest of the morning. Tecumseh felt like it e stopped at one time, and we were between tower three and four and the chair bounced up and down at least 20-30 feet. Scared the kids I was riding with to death, and gave me a bit of a fright. I have been riding lifts for 37 years, and never have I experienced bounce like that. Very not okay, I hope they work out the bugs, because the lift is dreadful here at the start.
@@Kaitydid74 Yeah I understand about the lift not running efficiently, but having the chair bounce up and down by a couple feet is actually completely normal for a brand new lift. It's called line sag, and happens when a new haul rope is adjusting to daily use; something that occurs on every new chairlift. It's not really noticeable when riding, but if you experience a hard stop, yes you will see it happen. New detachable haul ropes need to be adjusted at some point either during or after a ski season, and rest assured, it will be worked on safely. I've seen it happen more often on bigger capacity lifts, but in general it happens to every lift. Just thought I'd mention it.
That makes sense actually, but again 37 years skiing, and that was no normal bounce. I am heading back in a couple of weeks and hope that they have worked out the bugs, and the rope has indeed adjusted. I hate to ride Valley Run all day.
Such an interesting motor sound. I love it
New lift, nice.
My hometown.
I forgot about this lift company
Do you think MND will do more installations in the US over the next 3-5 years or so?

The chair spacing is so wide...and the lift is so slow...why did they replace the old quad lol
It was probably running slow due to wind.
@@TheLewistownTrainspotter8102 I heard it has been running this speed since opening
They definitely needed to replace the old quad. Hopefully, they will fix all the small kinks in this lift and have it sped up eventually!
Generally they start with less chair but will put more on later. Just getting the new lift kinks sorted.
Does this have heated seats like a lot of the other bubble lifts. I don’t believe so right?
Correct, I do not believe it does

Yes, it is definitely disappointing, hopefully they are able to fix it soon
@@beyondthelodge This is a shame if this is true. I hope they fix things soon.

Do you think water will should do the t bar idea
Waterville*
Which idea exactly? They did install a t bar on high country
The taking down world cup t bar and Exhibition one
@@henrydineen1764 Doesn't make much of a difference for me
any reason they went with MND over more contemporary manufacturers?
Not sure, maybe price
They’ve worked with MND a lot in the past, installing snowmaking, building new surface lifts, etc. So that’s why they went with them again
Why the caution tape?
Those chairs were broken
Why that’s not a good thing to see with a new lift! 😂
i went on it and it was running at 1000 feet per minute. Going faster now.
I wish that Waterville had the old quad back. The new chair is very slow and is a huge waste of money.
Hopefully they will iron out the issues soon
