thank you for your informative videos, I have one addition regarding the training job for IMG. IMG can start a training position as a first job in Australia without the need for general registration. this is by going through the specialist pathway if the IMG is a specialist in his country then passing the specialist pathway assessment will give him the right to start a training position as a consultant under peer review or as an advanced trainee in his speciality field. regards.

Thanks for the video! :) I just have a question, since IMGs are required to do 10 year moratorium in a Priority Area, do taking Internal medicine training program and going cardiology changes you to DWS (District of workforce shortage)? Will the 10 year moratorium apply while your on training? And last, can IMGs apply training programs in non-Priority Areas? Thank you doctor!

Hi. Thank you so much for making such clear and undatable videos.
I am studying 5th year MBBS student in China. And im hopping to write my AMC 1 exam soon after i graduate, that is end if next year.
And for the sake of saving time, im considering starting my masters program in orthopedics surgery. Here in China its possible to start masters soon after graduating from undergraduate. That means i will have no work experience of working as a GP.
My questions are: After passing AMC 1 and obtaining the certificate, does that certificate expire, and if it does it expires after how long? Because im considering coming to Australia after i complete my masters here in China.
My second question is, is it possible to come with my masters and get a job and start working as an orthopedic specialist and yet i dont have work experience as a GP. If its possible how will i go about it?
    Thank you.

    Hello Doctor,
I am an IMG & currently in the process of giving PLAB exams. My questions are related to keep my options wide for me in the future.
1.) Is the UK PLAB competency pathway better than the (standard)AMC pathway to get into Australian medical system? If yes/no why so?
2.) After getting a job in Australia & working for an year & getting general Registration in Australia, how do we apply for residency(PG/Speciality training) programs in Australia, Do we have some exams to clear like we do in Uk (MRCP)?
My main aim is to get Speciality training.
    Thankyou for such informative videos.
Also if I am coming from UK as a GMC registered doctor, do I ever have to give AMC exam during the duration of my job in Australia or to get general registration in Australia?
