My uncle back in the early '80s traded into one of those that had a bad barrel. He found a Marlin Super Goose bolt action 10 and had a gunsmith fit the barrel from the Marlin to the Winchester. He kept it a year or two, then traded it off. At that time I had one of the H&R 10 ga single barrel guns and was using a lot of 2 7/8" in that for squirrel hunting. Love those old 10s.
I`ve had it for about 5 years. Took a while to find ammo and convince myself the gun was safe to shoot. Actually made this video over a year ago. Back in summer and fall of 2023 I made enough videos to last a couple of years. I still have enough videos uploaded to last another 6 months. And enough shooting footage to put together another 10 or 15 videos after that if I would just get off my butt and do them. I do the TH-cam stuff in fits and starts. Maybe do a lot of videos all at once, then get bored with it and only do a new one occasionally for a while. I upload and schedule them well ahead of time. So you might see a video that I made a couple of days ago followed by one I did a year ago. The next video going live Dec. 31st was actually made in Sept. 2021and the video going live the next day on the 1st of Jan. was just made yesterday.
@@JoseyWalesWisconsin Being retired has made me pretty lazy. No great hurry to do anything today, because there is plenty of time to do it tomorrow. That can quickly spiral out of control for someone like me who has always been a bit on the lazy side to start with. 🙂

Wow ...just wow...never seen one
Not hard to see why the pump action guns beat out the lever shotguns, These are good quality, but they are big, heavy, and complicated to manufacture.
I wonder if John Browning had a hand in designing that gun. Good video!
Thanks for watching!
Yes Sir he did. The 1887 and this 1901
Quite the piece of machinery 😁☕👍
Thanks
That's a piece of history...recently aquired??

Neat gun! Terrible butt pad.
Thanks
Where did you find the 2 7/8 shells?
www.rstshells.com/
They only make the old 10ga shells on a limited basis. So sometimes they have them in stock, sometimes not.
Very Nice...=)
Thanks.
That's what you take to Skull Island.....
Guess I don`t understand the reference.
