I didn't realize how difficult the game was, when I first played it. It seemed so cute and inviting. But still one of my favorite arcade games of all time.
I love the realism in this series! Ghosts and Goblins Arthur straight up tosses whatever he comes across at evil. Ghouls and Goblins his skills grow allowing him to aim accurately by tossing upward and below. Super Ghouls and Ghosts he gets shoulder pain and loses the ability to throw up and down but during his meditations learns to jump off of thin air in any direction. You can really see him grow as a character.
This is one of my favorite game of all time. The music, the graphics, the movement... all are top level, but the best, without doubt, is the impressive level design. Is marvelous! If one day there will be a museum of video games, this will be a top piece of art.
It's rare a game where there is no waste. I mean no useless level, no grains of sand in the gameplay, all the music is in harmony with the stages, the bosses are all charismatic, the graphics are throughout the game a pleasure for the eyes, incredibly difficult but cleanable in 30 minutes...Even the introduction and ending are perfect. In short Daimakaimura is one of the rare game without any false notes, which places it (for me) at the top of the arcade game ever... And that's also why I play this pcb since 1989 every days ;-)
After the key has landed, you can still get a "nice catch" if you jump at the key while holding up and pressing fire at the same time as you land on it.
Thanks for sharing! I came here to learn how to advance. Is a very nice game and a good memory from my childhood. I played it again on the x box of my son. Graphics, mode of playing (very hard bye the way), are amazing.

Then in the psp game his shoulder gets cured and he can do both the jump and the up and down throws
