Always interesting listening to you guys.. There is just soo much tackle out there, and your guidance is very helpful in making the right choice.. Thanks Dean and Don, and Andrew!
For a man who is in the beginning of fishing in the ocean, this episode was the most informative. I watch every episode. Really guys, you have outdone yourself today. Thank you.
Johann, if you are starting out the best thing you can do is join a rock and surf fishing club and learn from others. Not sure where in SA you are based but get on Google and look up South African Shore Angling Association.
@@untraceablefishing I have so many questions 😂ill fill up this whole comment section but I'd love to see in a future episode you guys really go deep into nylon as a main line the negatives and positives. I feel braid is taking over Majorly but can it ever have the abrasion strength of Nylon like the Kingfisher giant abrasion etc I personally don't think so .
Absolutely excellent presentation and informative video. Will back check the previous reel talks, I think you did an Okumo one. I have Penn slammer 3s bought from Bilimoria. Good or bad reviews, it would be nice no hear. Just comment, and as you have done on this vid, no slander. Love it. Keep it up.
So glad you loved this one🎣🔥 I still have a slammer 3 and it’s going strong after 7 years! It’s a no BS reel that’s built to last if you look after it!
afternoon guys hope all is well. love the show very informative and makes a person really think of spending your money on good tackle and enjoying the bites. would it be possible to do a similar talk in the future regarding the saltist 10k vs stradic 10k pros and cons and what braid would be perfect for both the reels. thankyou for a very informative show keep it up.
My TP sw is for special fishing calm days I have 5k for light jiggin 100 ft and 10k for deep jigging 200ft+ or live bait fishing or trolling for abuse days Penn slammer is perfect
This is a VERY good question to ask🤙🏻🎣 Look out for this one in a future tackle Tuesday🔥

Hi Jean, we will gladly slot your question into Q&A this tackle tuesday, just a quick one, purely surf or a more general rock and surf type setups

@@donczns Hi donczns. Why I asked. We will be relocating to St Francis Bay soonest and would want setups for that environment under one budget. Assumed it being similar to your area - I think rock and surf.

and will be very interesting to hear what you would do - personally and for your area - if you had the bucks as an alternative. Let the cat out the box.
Rods (Makaira, Mariana and euphoria), the different reels and quality that they hold. And what setups (light, Medium and Heavy and X-heavy) you would recommend?
@@DRMJVR10 ok awesome- we have plans for the next 2 episodes… but after that we will look into it! I think it’s a good topic to hit hard🤙🏻🎣 PS: we are BIG Okuma fans of late!
Hi Gentleman thanks for a great show, have you guys heard of the Ecooda brand and can we have a review on this brand, some of the reels look the business, cheers
Penn Authorty , size comparison with other brands, please. Also show different sizes in the Authority and what you will use it for, will the 7500 be okay for shark fishing, I have a 20000 Saragosa but look for a little smaller reel for smaller sharks from the rocks, or can I use my TP 14000 instead
Hey bud The Penn Authority 6500 is close to a 10k-14k Gosa. If you have a 14k TP, that’s more than adequate for smaller sharks off the bricks. Maybe we can compare these on upcoming Q & A👍🏻
Thanks, yes please Q&A , The problem is sometimes big Bronzies and Rags come pas, then maybe the extra bit of line on the Penn 7500 is worth the extra money, I love Tackle Tuesdsys especially Don's knowledge, thanks guys
I would love to see how you guys compare the TP to the Authority, it would make for a killer episode! I had the TP and now have the 6500 Authority, I service all my own gear and I can say that in my opinion the Penn is build like a tank. Massive gearing although not as smooth I think it’s definitely just as capable. I think it would be able to take much more abuse through tough handling. My 2 Daiwa Saltiga reels are in a different league to anything Penn and Shimano makes, even the SW Stella does not come close. I also had the Stella SW 18000 and this is just my honest take on the 3 top reels each company produces.
@@kobuswentzel hey bud. you have some killer tackle no doubt!🤩 We will definitely do some higher end comparison soon. The Authority is coming in a future episode, so we will see how it fairs to the TP! that Saltiga is a beast, Deans ultimate wish list reel!

If you had to choose 3 off x rod & reel setup, to cover all types of surf fishing, what would it be??? Jean from Centurion.
