@@aguyandhistroopy The UN huh! Of late, they are one of the most useless organisations ever conceived. Ask any soldier that has been on one of their sanctioned little escapades. Regain revenue lost from the Commonwealth Games fiasco perhaps? I wouldn't be surprised if the federal government had their sticky little hands in it too. The only thing I know for certain is that if this decision is approved and legislated, then the access as we know it today will be GONE FOR EVER and it's NEVER COMING BACK. I totally agree that once that happens, all the other states will have a precedence set to follow, and it will be like a house of cards. Enough on that matter. I've had a negative view of NSW Parks and Wildlife Service for years. Live in Sydney and find there are so many limited 4WD areas 2hr drive out of Sydney, mostly areas are locked off to 4WD'ers. But I can also understand why. I have spent the past 20 years or so driving around 4wd Tracks around the Central West NSW - Lithgow, Hill End, Oberon etc, and the amount of rubbish and Crap left by people does not help us who enjoy the bush. Theses days when I visit family and friends in Albury/Wodonga, I'm finding myself spending a couple days up around Corryong and Omeo High Country exploring as I head back up to Sydney after visiting the Albury region. Outside the winter months, so many more tracks open to 4WDers to explore and some great camp sites you don't have to book to use, booking camping site with NSWNP is a pain when your day does not run to a time table.
Yeah it seems to be a common trend with National Parks in NSW, either locked up, booked out ( but no one actually camping there ) or just too expensive for what you get. Vic is great for being the opposite to NSW. Pretty much camp where you want, tracks only closed over winter etc. Rubbish… well that’s just another thing. 🤦🏽 That’s why we are fighting down here in Vic to stop the government from turning our State Forests into National Parks and stopping us from using them as we have been forever. This isn’t a Vic thing this will be Nationwide issue before we know it. 30x30 it’s called. The Aus goverment has sold us all out. 🤦🏽

No reception, but ended up on another dirt road that led me to Wingan Inlet, have you been? quite a beautiful spot, that I chanced upon, there is a rustic campground there and the road in was slow due to deep pot holes - well that was a while ago now, it could have been graded now.

All the knowledge has retired and know we are relying on the muppets which the governments are pulling their strings.
Logging has been stopped, who is going to protect these small communities - towns from the devastating fire in the near future. I could go on for days regarding this topic. Its very close to my heart

Gav, I love your VHC stuff but there's a few blokes doing that, so I really like the other places you show like Snowy Mountains and South Coast that you don't see on other channels much if at all. On National Parks I agree, it's a bloody disgrace that the authorities managing our public land think it's fine to put locked gates everywhere with little if any accountability. @@wasbruce thanks mate, I love the high country but there is so much more to see out there, I’ve always said it that I don’t want to just be a VHC channel.
As for the National Parks, NSW is terrible for locking up tracks, Kosciuszko is a prime example. 🤦🏽
But this battle isn’t just happening in Vic, it’s going to be Australia wide as they try to achieve the 30 by 30 that they signed an agreement with the UN a couple of years ago.
Vic has just started the ball rolling.
They are looking at trying to get 1.3 million hectares in my backyard in East Gippsland, it’s being called the ‘ Emerald Link ‘ they want to join all the Coastal NP’s to the High Country NP’s and make it one massive NP.
That’s not going to end well when there is a fire and no one to fight it now the logging has stopped in Vic.
Small communities will be devastated… but that won’t affect the pollies in the cities or the city folk that vote them in.
We are all in for a massive battle over the next few years, and the more we get the word out there the better we will all be for it.

I'm with ya on your comment about if one state gets it, all the others will follow. It will be like a house of cards. Realistically, I think the Vic Govt are trying to streamline Parks to re-direct finances into internal revenue so it can be channeled into portfolios like salary increases for "guess who". @@aguyandhistroopy The UN huh! Of late, they are one of the most useless organisations ever conceived. Ask any soldier that has been on one of their sanctioned little escapades. The reason the Vic Govt went to them is for international exposure. The Un loves to get the exposure too, as it makes them feel loved and justify their wages in the international community, otherwise no one would care if they lived or died. I shall certainly look up this Emerald Link thing you speak of.
Balls and I were partaking in a cold ale in the shed last Sunday, thinking of you guys in Bairnsdale at the meeting, wondering how it was all going. I hope it went well.
This combined National Park issue is an effort to streamline Parks to save money, appease the Greens, and divert finances to other portfolios for who knows what.
Oh, don't let Isuzu off the hook too quickly. The only reason I heard about the recall is by a news bulletin off the radio. I wasn't contacted.
Anyway apologies for the long winded reply, but this parks thing is dear to me. I am getting on in years now and spent my youth in the Gippsland bush, riding horses, fishing and camping.

There is a website for the track closures in Vic, but it’s hard to understand. I hate the seasonal closures. 🤦🏽
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@aguyandhistroopy Mallacoota is one of my faves, thanks for the info on the tracks, will try and have it handy next time

So true, I done rant regarding this when filming for the next episode, but from memory I didn’t put it in the actual video, was sure how it would be perceived by some viewers. Even though I reckon most work agree that the world has gone mad.
Thanks for watching and dropping a comment 👍🏼
