Most of the digital nomads I’ve spoken with use passive income aka they bought something and then charge others to use it. Now this is fine so long as it’s say an AirBNB or something. The issue now is that individuals and companies are buying up houses so that others can’t and forcing them to rent at a higher rate than a mortgage. Greed is quite simply destroying the future, but hey they get to sit on their ass and do nothing while making passive income so F everyone else, right? 🙄

On one hand, there is something thriving about the life of a digital nomad. I totally get it. On the other hand, it's not that easy. What about your wife, kids, and pets? Is it possible to sustain this lifestyle long-term? Don't you miss your friends and family when you're living far away from them? It seems like a life with many more upsides and downsides compared to a traditional lifestyle.
Yup, it's all just glorified in order to make content for desperate people who feel stuck and want to travel more. I dreamed about traveling when I want and working at the same time, and now when I can do that, I am already sick of vacations after 3 years. The best vacations I ever had were when I was a factory worker. I didn't have a bunch of gadgets with me, but I had something far more valuable, a complete separation of work from private life. Truth is, I have kids and a father who misses us while we travel, so maybe it's better when you are solo? IDK, but I meet some people who are solo remote workers, and they aren't as happy as they might seem. For those who have their own businesses it's even worse in some ways, as they always have to check what's going on, and put out fires when their own remote worker screws up and ends up ghosting them. Perhaps people who only rely on passive income and have plenty of it are doing best? I can't say, never meet any of those personally. For now I found a middle ground. We travel more than ever before, but not all the time, and we let our kids go to kindergarten/school without interruptions. That still leaves a ton of time to travel and spend money, and we can still do things that we couldn't do before, like spend a month or two abroad properly exploring countries and not just beaches.
I simply can't choose between becoming a data analyst and than striving to become a data engineer and becoming a sysadmin/network admin and than striving to become a SOC analyst/Cybersecurty analyst. At this point I wanna choose between the two based on which of these jobs will be more in demand in the future. I would really love to read an opinion of people who are reading this on the topic.
Data Analyst here, the demand is going to be there for both careers, if you think about it, as more companies and countries got into the the IT era, the more work for these kind of professions will be, personally what i am trying to do, is to find what bring me more joy, fun and self achievement and if i can make good money with it that is a plus. If you main goal is make money, choose any and specialize on it (data analyst might be better if you like to interact with people).
I can deffently relate to " Work at some place where you hate everyone and everyone hates you " xD Especialy when I worked as a middle manager and my bosses always yelled at me for not been productive enough and my labours that I had responsibility for threatened me with sick leave xD Left that shity job 5 years ago... Sometimes live was hard... sometimes very good. But never had a day in my life where I regreded my desicion.

It's not easy to stay always disciplined, but it's totally worth it at the end of the day. I saw that you use a Mac , mine is from 2007. i am planning to get another but second hand. do you think a macbook pro 16 inch 8 core intel I9 2.3 Ghz with 64 GB Ram will be good for using those softwares and work later on as a data analyst. Thank you.
Ja prvo kad ustanem popijem jednu kafu, pomazim malo moju crnu cupavu macku, posle neko dodje kod mene, pa onda ja odem kod jednom komsije (ima tu i komsinica), pa kod drugog i tamo popijem kafe, pa sretnem nekoga ispred zgrade i tu se izspozivamo na kafu i tako ceo dan neko druzenje i j*bi ga, ode dan.
