I dont usually comment but your creativity when it comes to video ideas is elite. Original and you have your own graphic style
Here here. Good job. I see many other content creators copying your innovations.
Best FPL video I have seen anywhere this season.
Wow thanks!
FPL mate on fire
Very good
Best FPL video I've seen in a while. Dan is the 🐐 of FPL content creators
We definitely need this for the other positions as well
This is so creative. And great data visualization
I was waiting for this video i actually have no idea which semipremium to put in. A ranking of the 4.5 def would be amazing as well Dan. Keep up the good work!
this is a great format as well Dan
100% agree, great video, we need this now for all players! 😂
Fantastic video mate! Hats off to the thought process of making a video like this. I’m sure all the other FPL content creators will follow…
Good to see something new, different from generic videos that everyone does.
Absolute quality. Thanks for the enormous effort and high level of usefulness and watchability, Dan.
Love this .... Would appreciate for defence and forwards for sure. Keep up the hard work it's paying off!!!
Phenomenal vid this one. Reckon if this format could be a more regular edition. Maybe after 6 GW blocks to reasses who are the best premiums to go for in every position.
Top job!
Only getting around to watching this now and massive shout to you Dan for the creativeness to create this and the way you presented it. Would love to see more videos in this style. Definitely up there with one of the most beneficial videos I’ve seen anywhere 👍🏻
I'm a chelsea fan. I think palmer scores less this season purely because of the change of manager and play style. It will be more rigid and less chaotic. Less "go for it palmer" and do what you want, but more sturcute and built up play. Sharing the goals more around the team. He'll still bag and be a high point scorer (probably even chelsea's highest) but Nkunku is 100% the best value for money in the chelsea team.
Why does it make it relevant if your a Chelsea fan 😂
@@Ethan-xz8fr that I watch them, follow them, know what's going on with the team and how things are changing. Didn't think that would need explaining, but apparently it did.
@@Ethan-xz8frsilly question
As a Chelsea fan myself I would rather say Palmer has shown what he is capable of and the entire FPL community need to exercise caution and assess Chelsea in the pre-season and early fixtures as his positioning and play style and points may be different under a new manager. A good example is how the England squad is blessed with incredible players like Foden who didn’t score/assist during the Euros. Or how the same Chelsea under Tuchel got worse under the new managers.
Same goes for all the hype we are seeing about Liverpool despite it being under a different manager. I think the managers are going to have a huge impact on how good/bad these assets will be.
@@Maxrodon I don't see how you've disagreed with me.
You really have excelled yourself on this one. This is as high as quality as it gets. Many thanks
Great video Dan, really gives a good insight into which of these 'premiums' are the best to go with. Now we just need a video on 4.5m defenders (Andersen, Mykolenko, Konsa etc.)
This is a really great idea for a video. Very well-researched and keeps you wanting to watch until the end to see who comes out on top. Would love to see more like this for the other “categories” of players!
I really like the fact that you did use a rubric, keep those coming. Ive always thought your camera is a bit close up though, just my opinion. Great content!
Mate this is the best FPL Video I've seen for this season yet! Amazing job, thank you so much for all the fantastic work!
Thanks so much!
This is one of the best analysis-based fpl content I have ever come across. Loved it. Can we also have similar for fwd and defs?
This is your best vid by far Dan thanks so much for all your effort it has helped so much.
Incredible video, very entertaining and useful. Congratulations 👏👏
Great work Dan, smashed it! 🔥
I absolutely loved your way of organising this, will be incredibly useful for midfielders priced 6.5 to 8. Currently got Salah, Foden and Saka in my side. Don’t think that Palmer could re-create what he did last year, especially with the new manager.
Excellent video, thanks Mate! Would love to see same ranking for midfielders priced from 6,5 to 8.
Dan my man this is a very very unique video your 3 days worth of effort is worth it.
Would love to see similar videos for other positions as well
Damn excited for the new season , all the best mate
Great video. More videos like these 🙏🏻
What a video mate, top of the game! Would love to see this for defenders too
Excellent video, your time invested was well worth it . Interestingly, my current draft has none of these player 😮 ... Well done for creating this 😊
this video is brilliant, don't normally watch your videos but hats off - great want
Amazing, absolutely amazing original content.
Very few have the genius to combine creativity and analytics together!.
Your content is second to none right now 👏
Wow thank you so much
Wonderful format. Objective, well-weighted. Let's have more of these please!
I'm super excited MATE and thanks for always standing out
❤❤❤❤
This is brilliant content. Can't wait to see similar videos for other player positions and price points.
I am strongly considering a GW1 bench boost, GW1 always offers lots of goals, the fixtures on my bench are great. Don’t feel like it’s that crucial to keep it till the end either
Fantastic video, Dan! Love this concept. Salah will be in my team in GW1 and your video describes why in a perfect way
Absolutely loved this, Dan! Is there a way you can compare this to forwards? Will give a great idea of which formation to go with. 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.🙂
Wow i loved this video. Im very involved in fpl and i always look for more content. This was amazing! Love the format, very interesting aswell! 10/10 keep it up brother 🙏🏼
Would be awsome to see this for strikers!👀
Thanks so much!
Awesome man, such brilliant and helpful video 👍 If you can do one for both Forwards and Defenders, it would be really nice, keep up the excellent work buddy !
Great video, Dan! I found it really interesting and useful. Thanks for the hard work and wish you good luck in the upcoming season!
My number 1 FPL content creator 🔥🙌🏿💪🏿
Great concept and visualization. Your scoring system takes into account quite a few parameters, but at the same time the weighting is kinda subjective. I do have a few specific concerns: 1) The fixture scores don't make any sense to me, especially for Palmer who I'd argue has the best fixtures besides Salah, and Fernandes should never be above the City guys. 2) I feel reliability should also take into account a player's age & progression curve, surely KDB, Salah, Son, Fernandes are past their peak and it's reasonable to expect a slight decline compared to the historic data, whereas youngsters like Saka, Palmer and Foden still have growth potential. 3) I feel reliability should also consider stability at a player's club. With Saka you can expect the same minutes, position, role as in previous years under Arteta. But with Salah, Palmer and Son there is at least uncertainty whether their minutes, position and role will change under a new manager. I realize this can be both positive or negative, but at the very least it means historic data may be slightly less relevant. Those elements combined, I think Salah should drop a little, while Palmer could move to 2nd place with Saka and Foden closely behind.
Regarding the weighting of the score, I feel you underplayed the role that price will play.
Ultimately, the price was one of many categories, whereas all the other categories were measuring points potential.
I would go so far as to say that you should have taken price out of the list of categories and then divided the score that each player achieved by their price.
Saying that I still love this video, more please!
Great video this Dan!
That bonus point section and your analysis of the new potential bonus points to win has convinced me to stick with Salah, Saka and Foden.
Really good video - like the structure and method behind it. Couple of notes: (i) If you're using "per start" as a factor, the stats should probably be edited to only include the data for games when each player started (not sure if you did this already, but didn't sound like it), (ii) Probably needs a "future prospects" category or something similar to account for anticipated changes in team/player/manager/external factors etc. It's tricky to quantify but FPL would be easy if you could use historical data only with 100% accuracy. Maybe would weight it quite highly too, perhaps between 10-20?
Actually yes I did do this!
Didn’t want to add any subjective opinions to this video. If you have any opinions on future prospects you can factor them in yourselves, as I’m sure different people will have very different opinions there!
@@FPLMate Fair enough and cracking effort to drill down all the start data! Enjoying your content more and more lately 🙂
Really good video, probably wouldn’t have impacted conclusions but would have put something in for manager change. Also probably could have put something in for the PEP rotation factor.
How do you get to Chelsea having the worst fixtures and Arsenal the second best?
I would argue that Arsenal actually have the worst fixtures (City away, Tottenham away and Aston Villa away on the first five). Chelsea only have City at home as a really difficult fixture, afterwards it’s looking quite nice.
I hope you find time to explain this because I really don’t understand at all.
The fixture difficulty was all done using an algorithm based on defence quality data from last season. For example Spurs and Villa rank are some of the poorest defences in the league. I tried to be as objective as possible!
@@FPLMate Alright, thank you! I commend for you for doing some great research. I really did enjoy the video.
I would, however, object that the difficulty of a North London derby away from home cannot be judged by “how poor the Spurs defense is” as derby games by default will be more difficult that what numbers can quantify. Just like how Liverpool’s game vs Everton on paper should be green, but in reality probably would be more neutral.
Also, form and previous results versus a specific opponent can say something about the difficulty of games. In that case, it becomes almost impossible to capture the objectivity of fixture difficulty just by looking an algorithm.
But that’s the beautiful part of FPL - we can all have different opinions on which teams enjoy the best fixtures in a certain period. I still would think the algorithm underrates the difficulty of those Arsenal fixtures.
Absolutely! All I can do is try and present data objectively, and managers like yourself can interpret the data in a way that suits your style and opinions. Hope it helped regardless!
@@FPLMate It did. Thank you! And keep up the great work.
@@FPLMateChelseas data for last season will be heavily skewed though because they started out last season with almost zero cohesion. It was almost a whole new team. That young teams gelled and has at least had a blooding of experience for a season. Its likely the performances in the 1st half of this season should be vastly improved from the start of last season.
Fantastic video Dan really helpful. Would be great to see this for 4.5 keepers and defenders too since that’s another area people are differing on if you get round to it
The best FPL video produced this summer hands down
Legend 💜💜💜
Very good analysis....Another data point could be stability at club eg WHilst Salah wins this analysis, we have no idea if Salah will fit the Slot way, Son and Spurs is an unknown again, Chelsea has a new manager too - Could this impact the start of a new season?
Dude what a video! Please do the same exercise for players within the same team to find the gaps between the options there
Palmer, saka, foden, son we can't pick them all😅😅great and honest intro @fpl mate
Very cool and interesting ranking system, i like it much better than the A-F ranking system
Well done Dan. These are great videos as we gear up to start another season. Good stuff as always.
Brother thank you! This is literally the video I needed! Thank you!
No problem!!
This was an excellent vid thanks!!!
Baked up my thinking but has also given me more to think about
Great video. I did pick salah, saka, foden over haaland and palmer. I did waver because so many experts doesn't pick saka. Now i have more confidence in picking saka
HI Dan, I've been following your FPL advice eversince youve had 50k subscribers, your videos have always been insightful , but this one takes the cake! Massive thanks ans awesome video dude
wow, we need this for defence and attack aswell. best fpl video i`ve seen
Not seen a better pre season video than this. All my life bro!!
Excellent analysis! hopefully you do this for the defenders and forwrds too...
Great video. The only thing I disagree with is that I would drop Saka a couple of points for set pieces due to him giving penalties away occasionally.
The one thing you neglected to mention is that the most expensive player weakens other players in the team so for example if you do it fir strikers...
Haaland + 4.5m + 4.5m = 24m
8m + 8m + 8m = 24m
To put this into perspective you are looking at a comparison like this...
Watkins, Isak, Havertz
Haaland + non playing + non playing
Apricated the starts info very much. Very useful when choosing
Loved it - keep them coming! ❤ premiums, mid-priced for all positions would be interesting… 🎉❤
Love your creativity in content creation 👏👏♥️
Also thanks for great advice and keep up the good work :)
Can you do the same for forwards and mid-tier midfields?
Great video! Another category I would consider is how good are the alternatives for a player from their team
Wouldn't mind seeing something like this comparing Haaland and Salah if you have the time/inclination. Would probably need another metric in regards to alternate options (in that there aren't anywhere near as many other forward options as there are alternative midfielders).
Editings leveled up🔥
good type of video, like it
now do:
1. mid price midfielder
2. 4.5m DEF
I wonder if the change in manager will affect Salah's output? Same with Palmer - they both have some uncertainty for me as we don't know how their teams will play and if their attacks will click - especially in the first couple of months.
I've palmer-foden-saka-gordon in my midfield with 2 good strikers 1 from Newcastle 1 from villa,im looking at getting rid of rice and throwing in an attacking midfielder I need 3.5 m to do it but I just need to re jig my defence I've 2 at 5M each 1 at 5.5m 2 at 4.5 and 2 keeprs at 4.5 1 attacker at 4.5 but I've looked at my defence for goals assists clean sheets same as my midfield look for goals and assists there are a few surprises out there and check the difference in value to the points they got last season I've put a keeper and defender in I thought I never would till you see the stats
First of all i love the idea for the video! you need to be more precise tho, from round 6 to 7 KDB gets should be tied with Son at 43 points, but somehow KDB has 45.
Amazing vid keep it up
Great video! Super useful for the new season Dan!!!!
Are you planning to do similar videos about cheap midfielders (6,5/7m) and strikers?
Why do some categories range from 20 to 0 and all of sudden BPS and set pieces only range a few points from best to worst? It's the only thing that makes the final scores a little less accurate imo.
One of the best FPL videos out there👌🔥
De Bruyne is off to Saudi Arabia and has agreed personal terms.
could u please do the same for forwards and defenders
Palmer's/ Chelseas fixture being given a 0/20 is crazy to me, man city fine, but the rest are almost as good as it gets. I would prefer Chelsea's first 6 fixtures over Arsenal and Man U's
love the objectivity but just a suggestion, you could have added a "personal opinion" section too just to give your personal thoughts
for example me personally i think kdb is going to be the number 1 go to midfielder choice this season, its just instinct but yeah would love to know who is your number 1 go to pick this season
Great concept, Dan. Keep it up
Really great video msn
Thank you!
Reliability should imo be worth more. The other points aren’t worth much if the player isn’t playing (looking at you De Bruyne).
This video will help because I'm stick between having either palmer or saka
Saka, consistency over a freak season with now a manager change, Nkunku in the line up who plays like a striker so would have a share of the shots ratio. I still think Palmer will be Chelsea's top scorer 😂 (back to square one)
Is foden not a rotation risk? I do not have haaland and want a cuty player, but i just cant see myself spending 9.5 on a player that might not start every game
Superb video, stuffed full of data based analysis, very informative
I think Foden is going to score less point this season as Guardiola wouldn’t rush him back into the starting XI as he haven’t played the pre season. Also with KDB fully fit there are more rotation risks and he outperformed his xG by 7.4, which wouldn’t happen again
Nah I think the exact opposite, I think cause of KDB's age he's slowly declining. Don't get me wrong he's still amazing however I think KDB will take a bit more of a back-seat and come off from the bench this season and Foden will be more of the midfield star this season.
KDB and fit should not be in the same sentence tbf
@@alexandermcbrien264 u got a point but even with last season’s game time for Foden, he would probably have a decline in points just as the other 2 reason I said
My current team for GW1:
Onana
Andersen
Saliba
Burn
Gvardiol
Salah
Saka
Gordon
Garnacho
João Pedro
Haaland
Bench: Turner, França, Harwood-Bellis, Ladapo
Thoughts?
I have nothing but good things to say about it -- except that I think the 8m forward price point is a very important one to cover this year. So many good, explosive options in that bracket; by not having one in your team you're making it cost more transfers to bring one in if it becomes necessary, and therefore gambling that all of Isak, Watkins, Havertz, Darwin, and Toney struggle. Risky, but it's your game to play! Best of luck
@@charliegatley1315 Thanks. How's your team going? Wanna send it over?
@@TottenhamFC0811 Currently toying with a few for-fun picks that I'll probably nix to go more template but oh well:
Henderson
R. Henry
TAA
Munoz
Eze
Saka
Salah
Foden
Isak
Watkins
Joao Pedro (yes, I know he's injured, i'll figure that out...)
Iversen Robinson Winks Johnson
Would love to hear thoughts!
@charliegatley1315 Personally, I just can't go without Haaland, even with him being £15m which is the highest ever price recorded in FPL. He's got the Ipswich fixture at home in GW2, which could earn him a huge hall. However, on the other hand, you can balance your squad elsewhere! Also, I just wanted to say that Johnstone could be the first-choice goalie after he comes back from arm surgery, which he had in GW20 of last season, therefore putting Henderson's place at risk. Also, I like the differential in Henry as I've not seen any squads with him, as he had knee surgery in GW5 of last season, so he could prove to be a surprise! Lastly, I'd do Gordon for Eze. Eze hasn't been as influential when Olise isn't on the pitch, and now Olise has left for Bayern Munich, so Eze could perform differently. Isak and Gordon would be deadly! Also, surely you need an Arsenal or City defender? Sadly, as a Tottenham fan, I'd say you need an Arsenal one more than a City one. Last season, they kept 18 cleansheets, compared to City's 13. So from Arsenal you could go with White, Saliba, Gabriel or even Raya. For City, I'd go with Walker or Gvardiol. Walker if you want to save up money. Good luck with this season! Also, do you mind me asking what football team you support?
@@TottenhamFC0811 Very good points! I hate going without Haaland too -- that being said, I'm always a little hesitant when people put all their faith in one fixture. Going with Haaland is very viable but I'm going without personally. The Johnstone/Henderson note is very fair and I'm still not sure about him (I was one of those that had Johnstone for most of last season). Verbruggen is my backup option and I might well go him instead. Eze I'd like to keep though, I think -- he'll be the talisman of that side and I back him to perform even without Olise. However, Gordon is a fair shout -- may I add as well, Szoboszlai? I'm fairly confident he'll start the season in the 10 under Slot, and at 6.5m with those fixtures it would be a bargain...
I know better than anyone how tight City but moreso Arsenal are at the back; however, I'm spending my funds on more attacking defenders at the moment. Once Trent's good fixtures are through I might well swap him for a Gvardiol.
Good luck to you as well, although let's just say I'm not telling you which club I support because I fear it may start a war of words...
Nice one, Dan
How did you determine your weighting between the categories (rather than within the categories)? How did you determine the relative importance of, say, Bonus Points vis-a-vis creativity?
This video deserves over 100k veiws
Should have included Chances Created as well as Big Chances created... Bruno has topped that for two consecutive seasons for most chances and comes second to Salah on Big Chances (22 - 21) with KDB in third at 21, Palmer and Ødegaard 17... This is from the official site so not sure where you got your Big Chances numbers from 🤔
Im backing against salah this year and have spread my money across my whole team captaincy will be quite difficult correctly guessing but the team you can build without salah or haaland looks so strong and could increase in value quickly to help get in haaland or salah at some point in the season if needed
That's awesome I will be looking forward to seeing other positions rankings 👏👏
My Nigerian brother😂. Nice to see you mate. Just in time for the new season
What do u think about Nkuku. Anh what should i choose between Nkuku and Odergard
This concept is class you need to do it for every position
What do you think about the following draft I built?
it is SUPER strong in mid but weak def and cheapiest banch players possible:
GK: Sanchez (4.5)
DEF: Burn ,Anderson ,Robinson ,Mykolenlo (18M)
MID: Palmer, Salah, Saka, Foden, Son (52.5M)
ATT: Havertz (8M)
Banch: (17M)
Who was the best ! last season. who is the best right now? It changes daily. It all depends who is on form, on fire, and who they are competing against and which friend is winding them up. Everything is on the day in august through to may. No one here knows.
