I have found that snails will breed according to how much you feed. If you feed a lot, then you will have a lot of snails. I believe they have an important place in the little ecosystems that we create. Also, if you want to get rid of them, just put a piece of zucchini in before you go to bed and when you wake up it will be covered. Discard them and repeat.

I did that with cucumber worked like a dream I have snails in all my breeding projects and in with my shrimp and plecos that get fed lots of food so its a hard battle to win When I got the Ramshorn at first they were great until I had thousands

yup they are feeding too much. fish don't need to eat daily.. only fry do. Don't even need to remove the snails, just fix the problem then there's not enough food for them and they can't all survive. With all the plants, I've never seen an ammonia spike even with tons of snails, always assumed it was impossible.

Heck I’m having two SNAIL ONLY aquariums (mystery snails)!! 😂
I just started a tank for my new betta and got a bunch of plants, a couple snails were spotted 3 days ago (named them Speedy 1 and Speedy 2), Speedy 2 laid eggs yesterday (28 I think), I can’t wait for them to hatch!! Some will be moved into my neon tank, some will go into my other various tanks. 👍🏻
Snails and shrimp are my favorites. 🦐 🐌

I like my snails and have them in tanks and my little ponds. I have fish that seemed to have eggs and then babies with the snails in the tank or pond. But I do not over feed and do not have tons of snails.

That's a great way to do it my problems with them occurred cause I am feeding my plecos lots of food for them to grow at a steady rate which also boosted the snails and the shrimp tanks I was feeding lots of different foods and the same problem occured

Whenever setting up a tank, it's wise to keep a close eye on it. Snails come in on plants. Even when plants come from good reliable sources. If you see a snail and you don't want it, pluck it out right away.
I love my snails but I'm not breeding fish so much.

Can you let the snails be and let neocaradina feed on their waste with small feeds, say alternate days? ..so as to not change the parameters. Will the snails still grow abundantly? I'm trying to breed Malaysian Trumpet Snails alongside coloured neocaridina - in a 5 litre (just trying out)

You most certainly could however in my experience if you ever slip up the snails will overrun your tank

@@tomblomfield6973 yea I sadly learnt the hard way when I was trying to breed my ricefish and wasn’t getting any fry it was because my snails were eating all the eggs
