    One of the best dissemble videos I've ever seen mate, really clear and to the point. Much appreciated! Not played much around with coaster hubs but I've got one I need to service, this will definitely be on repeat as I drink myself to oblivion putting it back together.

    I recently utilized your content in assisting me with my reassembly. I appreciate your emphasis regarding letting gravity hold the mechanisms in place while the other hand rotates the sprocket, seizing everything into place. Thank you for posting!!

    Great help, Great video. Thanks a lot. I was stuck when assembling.frustrated and mad and hit the bearing because it was not sitting properly and the bearing got bent. but now I know I can do it.ordered a new bearing. waiting for it to arrive. my worry is not assembling, my worry is the lock nut and cone got stuck together I even tried with a vice but failed to loosen the lock nut. is it because I soaked it in vinegar? I thought it will remove rust but it got stuck together like lock nut and cone nut is welded together. I might have to order new shaft but dont know how to order it. it is 6 inch long both side threaded shaft. dont know any of the technical names. thanks again.

    Actually, all of it stays together just fine if you grease it. No need to hold it a certain way >>> the grease is glue >>> the more you use, the easier, and better job you're doing. .

  • @S3f3ri0
    @S3f3ri0 ปีที่แล้ว

    This video was great, but I did run into an issue - more than likely just my own personal problem and situation, but adding my two cents. The part where it came to inserting the brake pads.. and allowing “gravity to hold everything together” - this specific part was not a good time. I had tried numerous times to slip the brake pads “up” and inside but the second pad would get stuck and never fully insert, or the first pad would fall right out, or ball bearings would pop out… rinse and repeat, the same 3 issues. I ended up assembling separately the worm-gear/clutch/aligned the notches/held the pads on/together, then inserted it all as one unit, screwing only from the socket side, not the side where I held the unit together. It installed correctly the first time with this approach. I still could not have completed this with confidence without this video, thank you!

    • @wildwoodtop
      @wildwoodtop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah those brake pads are the tricky part But in the end you had success! That's what matters

    Wow that was a life saver. Very very helpful, thank you!! I was struggling so bad to put it back together. The only problem I have now is that after I disassembled and greased everything, it's still making noises. Any idea what would cause this?

    • @wildwoodtop
      @wildwoodtop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Long as you don't have it too tight it should spin without any noise

  • @Slingersbullseye
    @Slingersbullseye ปีที่แล้ว

    How far back should I place the rear wheel? Seems like the original sat towards the end of my frame, seems dangerous shouldn't it sit as far back as the frame allows it? Has an opening on the rear mount where the coaster attached now I can adjust them all being I'm (upgrading) the chain. just making sure so the chain isn't sagging or too tight, it's obviously a single speed also a beach cruiser.

    I've been thinking about this one for my 68h hole rims. I want to remove the two brake pads and the arm. The only way to do this without slop is to hacksaw or Dremel the flange that the arm rests on. Then you can add an additional round hole washer to eliminate the slop. (I don't want risk scratching my bike frame. frame>thrift store rims.)

    • @wildwoodtop

      @CarlosX Pro Max if you just bought it maybe its got warranty. seems like a problem that shouldnt be happening for a new buy. I rebuilt the coaster setupon a bike i have recently. I had multiple bikes to pick parts from.take the sprocket assembly apart. there is a snap ring holding it together, and also a little space to keepthe pressure on the sprocket so there is no play. if its new it should include all parts but if you took it apart make sure you have all the parts and arent missing anything.
