I had a lot of time off due to an injury and realllly sunk in hours into guild wars 2 for the first time ever and got addicted. Tried so many classes for hours but none stuck with me like the mech engineer. Spamming turrets with a giant robot doing all the heavy hits while I chill a few feet back and shoot I know it's simple, but I love it. I'm an older guy and don't have the reaction like I use to in my younger competitive days, so this works great for me in pve! Thanks for the guide!
This is probably my favorite class in any MMO I've played. There is SO much versatility in the ways you can approach every situation that it really never ever gets old for me.
I love my engies. I have 2 of them and both have at least 2 elite specs unlocked for both. It was my favorite profession when the game came out and is still my favorite.

I`m playing "Hammer or Flamethrower Scrapper" as a damager or a healer most of the time and I love it ... and when I`m a Heal Scrapper in group events for instance all the other random players around me love it too and even some commanders suddenly like to be near me.
Great Video On The Engineer. I have one that I never levelled past 20 ish.. Makes me want to jump back in. Now for the love of all things GW2, make a similar guide for the Revenant! It seems to be so under represented. I want to make one, but not even sure where to start. Anyone with good links to Revenant builds, reply in the thread.
In my opinion, especially with all elite weapons moving to core proffs, Engineer should get weapon swap in combat, and only lose in-combat weapon swap if they use a 1 or more kits in the heal/utility/ or elite slot. I like mortar and grenades, but I'd rather be able to be a Hammer/Rifle scrapper. Furthermore, with having to have at least 1 kit for good builds 90% of.the time, it means you lose out on build diversity because most of the time one of those slots gets reduced to a choice of 3 or if the heal/elite slot a choice of 1 lol so not a choice.

I created an account yesterday so Im very new to gw2, I took level 10 and was gifted a mount that I can use for 10hours. If I wanted to keep it I would have to buy an expansion. I clicked the tab for buying the full game and got confused, wich expansion would you recommend getting as a new player?
Hmm. Personally I'd suggest actually this new expansion. It includes obviously the new content but allows you to get the skyscale (one of the two available flying mounts). It does not include any of the elite specializations (subclasses) however so that is a down side. If your more inclined to the story I'd say heart of thorns and purchase in order of the expac list. Regardless each of the expacs offer something great!
I believe the sky scale will only work in the new expansion areas. I’d personally recommended heart of thorns and path of fire because they usually get discounted and bundled together plus tons of elite specs and story content.
Get the First Two. You can still get a lot of mounts, Two amazing expansions with lots of contents and Two elite specs for each profession. SOTO is not worth to buy first.

if you are brand new to guild wars and hasnt learned the finer details about dodging etc.. use engi with bombs.. auto attack and kite.. mobs will follow and stand right in the explotions.. while not actually that fun to play. you will be alive and mobs will be dead... full power build. firearms, explotions and tools.. spec for static discharge.. tho not as powerful as it once was.. core game enemies will melt...
What do you think about quickness Herald for new players? From what ive read Its got easy rotation And i enjoy the support playstyle, idk if its viable enough tho
Q herald is honestly God tier. You don't even need much concentration support. If any really. Q heal herald with full Harrier gear is an amazing support. DPS version is great too. There's no real rotation required, just need the pip upkeep.

I will slowly convert more engineer players into yolomancers. Nothing else in the game quite feels the same as fully oneshotting someone from stealth as an engineer
There does appear to be a bugger with mechanist. If you have turrets equipped the tool belt skills will still trigger with the mech skill. Like regenerating mist with heal turret.
i wish grenade kit and bomb kit were deleted and we got a better explosives kit it could still have a bomb and grenades in it, but as it stands grenade kit is trash to use and bomb kit means death by boredom seriously would rather watch paint dry then use bomb kit

Honestly its fun being powerful lol not super intensive and still great fun!

Honestly the rifle for core engineer is so strong there are times I don't even use a weapon kit!
