The top hinged doors are a neat design and protect against rain when boarding or leaving the helicopter. I am quite intrigued by the emergency electric motor drive to boost a low inertia rotor. This is something I had thought may be a viable addition to a low inertia rotor system.
Not being a helicopter pilot enables me to ask: does the rotor downwash "automatically" close the doors? Also, while the window tint looks cool, it's hurting outward visibility at night.
I like it. The only concern right off the bat is the T tail. Seems like a lot of mass up there and will induce fatigue . I am no helicopter guy though.
Looks too light for external weapon mounts. M134 minigun, air compressor or elec. generator, us ammunition cans , pilot and cpg sights , and weapon fire control weigh about 1100. kh.
It's a great looking design but it's quite noisy. Also your safety wire on the back of the tail rotor gearbox is incorrect they are all pulling neutral or straight and they should be @ 90° of each other.

All depends on price. Specs are very similar to the R22. About 495lbs of useful load (225kg they say) and similar endurance. The R22 just dominates the market because they keep it cheap. However, the electric rotor system they have sounds really interesting. Whole system weighs 25lbs. Provides 5-8 seconds of power which is a lot of time when finishing off an autorotation. Price is going to make this aircraft a superstar or just another "never heard of it."
The complete weight of the system is 12kg, and there are no videos of the system in use. The manufacturer also state that it can be used to develop increased power during take off. Such a rescue system may be beneficial on a low inertia rotor system, as found in the Robinson R22, so I guess that this is a low inertia system! I have often wondered if an electric motor could be used to boost a rotor system that was losing inertia after an engine failure, and it seems that it can.

Mast bumping I can already see won't be an issue under the . Self tail strikes are almost a given with this tall of a rotor and semi rigid blades. If he Jukes this sucker to avoid a bird, it could go badly. At the speeds it can fly at however, hitting the bird is potentially less damaging than trying to dodge it with this rotor setup. Not many can pull off what the MD500 can in this rough size of a helicopter. Then again, it is a million dollar difference there. The Full Rigid price.
Its an experimental type. Says so on boom. Many items are waived on experimental aircraft, that would be required for registration. During development the developer only has to prove airworthiness and avoid controlled airspace within government agency set distance from commercial airports.

Experimental does not exclude you from basic nav or anti collision beacons, ADS-B, etc. To be AW, it will be tested in stages out to certain distances within certain specfic hours of flight from first take off. This, however, is for fixed wing. Rotary might have different flight requirements before the airframe will be given an AW cert. Only then can you fly anywhere in or out of controlled airspace. you should consult the FARS regarding experimental AW cert'ing before making random shit up and confusing/misinforming people.

It look like a mix of many helicopters- Like the skids from Eurocopter. Tail form MD-500 and so on. Not a good looking heli but i'll bet its funt to fly it.

That's why you need to learn to fly with your instruments. Not being able to see from the sun is a whole hell of a lot worse.
