  • Construction progress continues in the New Year especially in segment 1 (San Francisco-Brisbane) of the rail line. Some disappointment in segment 2 between Menlo Park and Belmont in the slowness in that section with construction progress.

    Actually, I was awaiting your video. I'm guessing if they ever get the OCS finished from Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood Yard, and Redwood City; then I'll say they've made progress? But seeing that they seem to have moved all the operations to completing the OCS into San Francisco, give me hope that everything is picking up? Great video by the way!

    I don't think I've seen electrified lines with wooden rail ties before.

    At lease there is a delay in closing the Diablo Canyon nuke plant per Gavin Newsom.

    Is CalHSR slated to use the Caltrain ROW or its own tracks?

    • @crzwdjk
      @crzwdjk ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The HSR will use the Caltrain ROW, partly on existing tracks and partly adding new tracks to let HSR trains pass Caltrains.

    • @ChrisJones-gx7fc
      @ChrisJones-gx7fc ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@crzwdjk to my knowledge the new passing tracks are not happening, so it'll just be existing tracks the entire way from San Jose to SF. Electrified Caltrain will be extended south to Gilroy, so a total of three tracks between San Jose and Gilroy (two electrified for Caltrain and HSR and one non-electrified for UP and Amtrak).

    Thanks for the update. The EU is scheduled to be totally electrified by 2038. And then there is the US and Canada. Not so much.

      Highly doubt that. Almost half of the German railroad network is not electrified and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon, considering some transit agencies just ordered hydrogen or battery trains.
