gt 54 set on 455 KHZ while Gt 56 set on 1070 KHZ I dont think it is a fair comparison. From what I have seen the gt 56 is somewhat better but not the 2 comparisons you have shown. Maybe exact contrast and brightness also THx
Thanks for the comparison. The new fish finder I'm getting comes with the GT54. Which still looks pretty good. I will be using it between my kayak and boat. My plan is to use the GT54 on my kayak and get the GT56 for my boat.
Good information, sorry you didn't run the GT54 at 1230Hz to see if that improved the image. But no matter, the extra 3 inches of transducer gives a crisp image
I noticed the same thing. I just ordered the 93sv UHD bundle on a Black Friday deal. It comes with the GT54 (UHD model, I think...), which has 455/1200 SideVu selectable frequencies and a fixed 800kHz DownVu. The GT56 is 455/800/1000 selectable on both SideVu and DownVu (I think....), and also is a more powerful transducer (500 vs ~350 watts?). I think the 1200Mhz setting w/ the GT54 should produce images as clear as the GT56, but with some limit on range. If you're blue water fishing, the GT56 would be a better option, but otherwise, the differences will be minimal.
Nice comparison. Looks like i should get the Garmin Echomap ultra 106 sv. With the GT56 on my kayak for my saltwater use. I dont do freshwater anymore.

the 54 is great for bow, 56 stern. When I compared both on TM didn't seem as important when fast focusing areas with moving transducer as TM will do. Just came back to video looking to see if floated car was added to end. :( Nope.

GT56 way better. Going off your previous video, it did look like an 80's Cutlass, but the other angle looked like a truck. It will be interesting to see what they pull. I live in NE OKLAHOMA so I've been checking AWP and haven't seen a video yet.

Windows are down on both passenger and driver with front windshield busted out. Car appears to be clear. No license plate on the car. White or silver in color with a red pinstripe on bumper

If you're going to wait for Hummingbird live which will be the equivalent to current livescope you may want to wait for garmins new 3d livescope they already have submitted patent for. In my opinion Hummingbird sidescan is still a hair better but garmin didn't give up stuff to Lowrance and bird to be equivalent. It's because they are always one step ahead. I'd get 8610xsv highest pixels per sq. Inch and a livescope now. Then upgrade to 3d when it finally comes out.

@@MarcinKantor The 8410/8610 is the same pixel count as the 8412/8612 but spread out over more screen size so you will lose a little definition but not much. I am running 4 of the 10s two up front and two at dash.

How did you get 19.3 v to the unit? And to the people complaining about the frequencies being so different. Doubt any of them have run the 54 @ 1xxx in that depth range. Mine blows everything out to the point it is unreadable
You 100% should be running 1120 at 25 feet. Really anything under like 35 feet should be 1120. You must have settings wrong, Id start with brightness, contrast, tvg, and interference. Theres a reason the OP hasnt responded to anyone that called him out for it, he thought no one would notice.
@@mojo2090 appreciate your response. I spent yesterday playing around with all the settings in the higher freq. I am running a 54. It is too bright and I lose all detail no matter how I adjust. The 455 works better for me. Deepest I am going is 25'. although depth doesn't seem to matter, nor bottom content Not sure. Will keep trying. Thanks again

This is an extremely misleading video. I guarantee if you ran the 56 at 455 and the 54 at 1120, the 54 would look better. Yes the 56 is better but you are completely misleading people that dont know any better.

Exactly. That's what I noticed too. The 455 is better for scanning long distance or deeper water with the higher setting having better clarity

dude you set the 54 on 455 and the 56 on 1070, wtf no wonder there's a big difference, try setting 54 to its highest range.duh.
you scanned using max HZ on 56 and only middle 455 on the GT54. Why you did not compare them both at mac capabilties?

I tried that and it was even worse on this particular depth/ rocky point. I'll do some more comparisons on similar passes in different depths.

I feel it probably did. The 455kHZ was brighter and the 1070kHZ showed more detail.

I just can’t keep up with it. Just got two 93sv units with the 54 and as soon as I install them they are obsolete. I give up.

Mine are touch screen so I just use to fingers over target. I know the button ones have the option too. I just don't know how.
56 pose to be 20% better but for the money diffrence the 54 works fine for me not that big a diffrence in my opinion

Agree, although at a 100 ft the GT56 will out preform the GT 54, but at shorter distances the GT 54 at 1120 will out preform the GT 56 at 1070.
