This is that talk about the 'Left' that i finally heard for the first time in my life. More than that, this is an inspirational, simply through its wisdom and structure. Expressed with Yogendra ji's characteristic humility. Much gratitude to him.

Extremely eye opener to many of us. Yogendra Yadav is no doubt an intelligent learned gentleman but open minded to welcome good thoughts from wherever they come. Indians one abd all should accept his ideas about India abd her ideal democratic set up. I always listen to him and his depth of talks.

An illuminating speech from an erudite scholar . His highlights on degradation of political scenario and climate by the onslaught of right wing BJP are astounding, precise and mind blowing.
His observation on *Preamble * is a lesson
Fortunate to listen to a thinker of Yadav ji 's stature.
His incisive observations on contemporary disgraceful political situation are amazing and thought provoking .
    Regards to Yadav ji

The problem with the official left, particularly in India, is that they have become fossilised. To combat the crony capitalism, religious majoritarianism and Brahmanical social order as represented by the present RSS-BJP led Hindutva hegemony, we need a far broader left thinking coalition that represents the oft forgotten bottom of the pyramid. We have forgotten that to be left is to stand up for the oppressed, the downtrodden, the marginalised, it is also to be compassionate and caring. Yogendra Yadav has succinctly outline the challenge ahead for those who are on the left, that is, opposed to the present establishment.

I hope Prof. Yadav does write more about the legacies of 'Ganatantras' in Ancient India, as promised around @38.20. Then we could have a very interesting debate and discussion between him and Prof. Irfan Habib, who has stated, quite legitimately so, on record that Indic indigenous societies did NOT have democratic polity, we only had varna systems, and therfore we are not 'Mother of democracy' as ruling party claims, democracy itself was an import from Ancient Greece.
So we had Republics without democracy, when the two seem so entwined, must be discussed further in a historical light.
    Thanks Prof. Yadav

Discarded in the north. Fortune hunting in south and elsewhere. Dwindling career was revived by Rahul at a time when Rahul launched his Pada Yatra (BJY) from Kanyakumari. Ever since then YY has been Rahul's man-friday. Thanks to Rahul, Dr YY has been successfully grabbing occasional headlines, mostly in social media, after 2024 election results.
Prof YY is a good match for Mr Annamala, x-IPS. One is the inverse version of the other. They produce same effect from opposite sides. PM Modi used Annamala extensively for his election campaign in 2024 and predictably Annamala returned with Zero seats for Modi.
Prof YY has been in the national political arena for more than two decades now. He also calls himself a Psephologist. Neither in politics nor in assessment of election and prediction of election outcomes he had any noteworthy role, contribution or success. Infact all his past Electoral predictions have been dismal and way off the mark.
Only time Dr YY seemed to have done justice to the tag of Psephologist is in prediction of 2024 general elections despite his assessments lacking in coherence and credibility. This is proved by the fact that the reasons given by him in his assessments pre and post election results are completely different. Anyway unqualified credit is may be allowed to him for coming good one time and for being better than PK. Unqualified because none of his assessments are backed by any data or based on rigorous analysis and objective evaluation.
At best his success this time is attributable to the Law of Averages coming good in his favour for the first time. That is inherent in statistics in the longlast. It was speculative and not scientific.

Yadavji, your analysis of lndian society particularly political aspect appears deep and profound but flawed and unsound as regards future of left in India.
Much water has flowed down the Ganges since Independence.Though 75% of Indian population castewise constitutes the bottom of caste pyramid but nearly classwise 40% of population over
half of which comes from sc/st/obc communities form the political elite (middle and rich class). It is they who rule and continue to rule India. They want development ,infrastrucure, industries and modernisation of economy.Socialist (leftist) economy all over the world has failed to deliver the same.So reformed capitalist economy i.e inclusive growth, welfarism for the poor and growth for the elite and all is the only option. Therefore , the political elite coming from the sc,st ,obc and minnoriy communities will mobilize their caste brethern for political, social and religious equality but for economic development ,they will align with the so called high caste political elite. So they will change the caste character of political power but not the economic character as leftists want it.Ultimately ,there will be political, social and religious equality and not the economic equality as leftists dream for. So ,they have to change the concept of economic equality. It appears Marx has predicted premature death of capitalism and has asked people to dig it's(capitalism's) grave in it's prime of life.
