I'm not Asian, but my parents are equally as impossible to please, and I always have been and always will be a failure at everything in their eyes. As painful as it actually really is, this channel makes me laugh about it and see the lighter side of it and it's good to know that in a way, I'm not alone in this having parents who set you up for absolutely impossible standards they expect you to always meet.
& the thing is, now that we've realized the standards are impossible, we don't have to play. It doesn't mean we don't work hard & be the best we can be, it means that if someone keeps moving the goalposts we can go play a different game & not play with someone who refuses to be clear & fair, & ultimately just wants to withhold affection.
