@@ForeverBeInTheThirdGroupfailed policies in the region . Rewarding terrorism and failed authoritarian states in the region in return for natural resources. But that seems to be over now as you can’t fix something if one keeps breaking it down again ( Somalia, djbouti , Eritrea). Somaliland is the solution and key to that whole region. It was the first Somali speaking state that was recognised in 26th of June 1960 and recognised by over 35 countries and part of the UN. So it makes it older than Somalia , djbouti. The irony. Somalia till this day uses the credentials of Somaliland of its independence and illegally has a seat at the UN. You see Somalia never received independence from its colonial master Italy but rather it became a UN trusteeship till this day under chapter 7. Once a crook always a crook. So there would be many consequences once Somaliland gets re-recognised. Hence Somalia , djbouti fight tooth and nail using rogue actors like China to oppose that now undeniable fact of Somaliland’s re-recognition. You see this is matter of justice. One last thing. Whoever controls the port of Berbera controls the Horn of Africa and Middle East. It’s the most coveted strategic location for trade and security of the region. So a no brainer for Trump and the USA.
Somaliland has a rich history and a strong sense of national identity. They have their own currency, their own government, and they run things independently. Also, Somaliland is considered relatively safe and stable compared to other parts of the region. It's possible to get around the country without too much worry. Finally, the people of Somaliland are incredibly resilient. They've been through a lot of tough times, but they always seem to find a way to keep moving forward.
Well I will definitely agree that the people of Somaliland are resilient and move through tough times with true grit, identity, and their head held high. They do not seem to bow to other powers, which is really something to be commended.
Whew! It's a long read for sure! It certainly lets you know the way the Conservatives in the United States would like things -- the real question is how much Donald Trump will follow Project 2025 versus not.
SOMALILAND had taken independence from Britain in June 26th 1960th and now sovereign state in the horn of Africa and will remain so. God's willing all eyes on Somaliland growing sovereignty and the prospects is bright ❤❤❤VIVA SOMALILAND VICTORY
I am an American-Somalilander and I just wanted to add a small nugget of information to your report in regard to Somaliland. Somaliland established a very good relation with Taiwan, and China attempted to lure the leaders of Somaliland to drop Taiwan and establish a strong relationship with Beijing, but the leadership in Somaliland refused to meet a Chinese delegation that arrived in Hargeisa, the capital city, making them leave empty-handed.
I looked into it to be sure, and you sure are right! (For anyone else unfamiliar, here are some links below and I'll put more links in the video description). Honestly, reading this all about Somaliland is actually very impressive. They seem very strong and independent -- valuing that over being overrun, intimidated, or plagued in debt to a larger nation. It would sure be great for the United States to officially recognize Somaliland (I can't see any reason why Somaliland should not be officially recognized as a country) and create a strong partnership there. As you mention, also including Taiwan, as well. I will say though, I don't think Somaliland is interested in being indebted to some larger nation that might attempt to bully them around, and so to grow a relationship with the United States, I hope that Somaliland would hold onto their strength and independence, so that the relationship would truly be a partnership. As an American Somalilander I just wanna thank you for the great information that you shared with us. The long waited day that the people of Somaliland was waiting for more than 3 decades will come soon.
That is pretty much what it seems like, if I'm understanding right. Somaliland being its own country is already the reality on the ground, as you said. The United States would only be confirming what is already true.
Recognize JSL, The State of Somaliland.8 million people who wants to stay free and decide its own destiny. I am from ceerigabo JSL and are proud somalilander and waiting the world to accept our existence
Greetings from Seatown in the wild Wild West. I moved from Somaliland to the Estados Unidos over 30 plus years ago. I love this great nation of USA and I want to say as a former Somaliland and a survivor of the genocide by Somalia in the late 80’s. I would want nothing more than the United States re-recognizing Somaliland, they deserve it and I think it’s in our best interest..❤🎉🎉
WOW. You're a survivor. You must have such an incredible story. Do you have any family still in Somaliland? Also, being from that area, do you think that Somaliland people are culturally distinct from the rest of Somalia? That's one piece of the story that I can't quite get a handle on. Also, why do you think that Somalia wants to keep Somaliland?
I'm always trying to understand the whole situation, which is why I ask -- What are the benefits of being two countries versus what is the benefit of remaining as one?
The United States and Ethiopia cannot interfere. Somali unity. Somaliland is a region and will remain a region within Somalia. I was born in Somaliland i am proud to be somalia, why should we separate ourselves? The world supports the unity of Somalia. Ethiopia ❤️
Oh great, you live right in that area! It has been said that the people in Somaliland are culturally and ethnically quite different from those in Somalia. Does that seem true to you? Or does everyone in both Somalia and Somaliland seem very similar? Do you know what I mean?
@ForeverBeInTheThirdGroup we all have same language (somali,Arab),food, dressing ,same culture, even if we got recognition nothing will change we still be somalia.🇸🇴 🇸🇴somalia halonatoo 🖤
Is the English translation here something like, "Somaliland is not going anywhere"? Are you meaning that you'd like Somaliland and Somalia to remain as one?
The direct translation to English is something like: "Don't break the ban in Djibouti, My country is not safe for me, it will not give me a place for freedom. , America's absolute God, follow my security in Somalia" Can anyone check me on that? When I look at the original text and then this not-very-good translation: Do you mean that you'd like the United States to remain friends with Djbouti and for Somalia/Somaliland to remain as one country (Somalia)?
Thanks for highlighting this issue which is close to my heart as a somalilander...quite delightful news. Let's make Somaliland Great Again 👍
