    This looks like a lovely texture. I feel like the “cool” color was cool, the “neutral” color was cool, and the “warm” color was neutral, but I liked all 3 of them.

    This might sound silly but it made my day to see the touch up at the very end of the video! Thank you for being human! I can't wait to try the Brisa starter kit. Love their Shellac!

      Hi Katherine! Thank you so much for noticing that!
      The whole reason for this channel was to show other nail techs how real salon work looks like. Without pretending I’m perfect and that I never make mistakes. For various reasons (very legit ones) I now only post watch me work (on clients) on my private (paid/$10 month) channel. If you would like to check out t recent services take a look www.patreon.com/TheSalonLife
      Thank you for your comment!

      Loving your videos! Do you have one explaining your prefered method for applying Shellac over Brisa? (Here or patreon?)

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can apply Shellac straight onto the shaped nail that is buffed with 180 grit. No base is needed. I don’t usually do that though. My clients have active length nails and it’s not needed. For extra something I would use a soak off gel like Gelish Structure or even the new Cuccio in green bottle. I’m actually going to make a video about it tomorrow. Too much to explain here. Let me know if you have any questions!

      Just want to make sure I apply any color properly but I think I've seen that they have colored gel too! Looking at my own and wanting to change last minute for Christmas with out removing the overlay just yet :p

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who has colored gel? CND? You can just apply Shellac over buffed surface of gel without base. If you have a gap between cuticle and gel then use Base and then color after.

    Where can you buy the round brushes that you like to use for gel polish?

    i recently got a couple of these brisa gels, but I don't have the brisa bonder. could i use either a different base coat, or maybe plexigel bonder instead? or do you HAVE to use the brisa bonder only? also, how is brisa GLASS different from brisa sculpting gel?

      Please follow CND recommendations. Base is button 1, and the Brisa is 2B and top coat is button 3.

    Beautiful presentation! Question, after applying gel can I put a different color like no chip one?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Agnes! Yes, you can. Just shape the gel, do not put top coat, clean the nails with alcohol and then you can put gel polish on, usually 2 coats and then top coat.
      I heard that Light Elegance Buttercreams are excellent for this purpose. They apply very thin and don't add thickness to the finished product.

      I actually used to be an International Educator for Akzentz :).
      The line had changed a little since (I think I left about 6 years ago) and I think the gel you mentioned was called Natural Clear- my favourite gel from the line.

    Hi! Beautiful work !
    I have questions 🙋🏼‍♀️ the first application is the same the primer ? If not necessary put base coat before top coat ?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first coat was the bonding coat (UV cured). There is not need for a bonder before the top coat. Bonder is only applied on the natural nail to bond the nail to the product

    Have to say as one tech to another, nail prep, application and finish was beautiful. That being said, in your country are you not allowed to remove dry, excess cuticle?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Juanita! Let me start by saying thank you for such professional and kind comment.
      The area around the nail is very often misunderstood. This client is not using any oils sadly or creams and unfortunately it shows. Also when I’m working on the nail the nail is dry from wiping it from acetone and it’s dusty so it looks worse than it is :)
      Here is my gentle approach to the area around the nails and I discuss it further in my recent Watch Me Work videos.
      Also I’m working on a video showing a progress over a span of 4 manicures. Coming soon :)
      We all have our ways of working, I just show mine and my clients are very happy with the results and my gentle approach. I did remove the cuticle and I do that before each nail service. What you are probably referring to being dry is Proximal Nail Fold which is a living skin and it just needs to be cared for and protected with creams and oils. I can only do so much for the client when I see them only for 1 hour every 2-3 weeks. What kind of maintenance and care they do at home is out of my control.
      Here is a video where I talk about cuticle and PNF and below link to Doug Schoons latest research.

    Best way to clean brush when using cnd bristal gell .? Acatone or other ?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, just squeeze it between a lint free wipe and then store away from light and dust.
      I think I have a quick video on how I deal with a brush. Let me look for it and edit it quickly

    I have a question - why is the free edge capped because it appears that it got filed off afterwards? Thank you 😊

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rechelle! I don't file the free edge, I ubly run the file over the free edge to see if there are any sharp edges that will drive the client crazy.

    Can I apply the gel after preparation of the nail like in the application of cnd Shellac, With base coat and then apply the brisa gel? Or it has to be bond anyway?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, stick with the proper line. Bond for Brisa and CND Shellac Base Coat with Shellac color :)

    Hello, your client has beautiful nails. I was wondering why an overlay was done as opposed to just a gel manicure. Is it just for the look? Her nails look very healthy. Thank you

      Hello Donna! Thank you for your comment!
      We were just trying this look. This client normally did very well with just regular Shellac as well and normally that is what she wears (Shellac)

    so with brisa gel you have to cure each nail at a time? Can I use a different brand for the top coat?

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I think I flash cured it so the gel would stop moving once I got it into a perfect shape.
