    another great guy on youtube to learn stuff from is "ellaskins". He's got a bit of a different approach to his videos, but I don't like them any less than Phills. In fact, you should team up! :D

    Sie can I make my own RCA cable for my 2.1 home theater System? Which wires should I buy? What are the points to be remembered while buying any audio cable?

      Hey amardeep, home theater systems aren't our specialty, though hopefully these articles (in addition to this video) will help you get closer:

    In other words, TRS cables with two black rings on the metal part of the plug will be either balanced mono, or unbalanced stereo, while the ones with one black ring will be unbalanced mono?
    Just making sure I understand.

    Can you recommend a decent cheap controller? I'm thinking about the mixtrack 2 but would love any recommendations for anything under 200 dollars.

    Hi Phil, what would your advice be for reducing hiss? I have my S2 hooked up to my Denon AVR amp and its pretty pronounced!

  • @ski2esc
    @ski2esc 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a very big fan of a "Ground Loop Isolator" connected before my amp to clean up computer fan noise. Just tossing in my 2 cents

  • @FcoManjon
    @FcoManjon 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, the problem are not Volts, the problem are Ampers. If you otuch a cable that carries 10000V but only carries them with 0.000000001A, there is no problem. But touching a cable with 1V and 100A, you will hurt yourself.
    The usb cable can also carry a high amount of power, USB3: 5V 20A.
    I hope this helps you.

    hi, i have a sony home entertainment amp and i lost the cables to it when i was moving house. and there £30 for the set... which i dont really want to be paying for crappy cables so i have some nice thick cables but i dont have any idea which is - and + is there any way i can use a multimeter and find out which is which?

  • @cordes85
    @cordes85 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Balanced Cables are for better quality sound into Active Monitors, Id never put an Unbalanced Cable into Genelecs/Adam/Krk Vxt's. Basically RCA and 1/8 " cables are for beginners. Higher end Audio interfaces, have no RCA sockets.

      RCA's are absolutely fine over short distances, of course I'd use an XLR where possible

    Hello quick question. Do you need speakers to start loading tracks? I have a dj set but won’t load the tracks into the mixers show on my laptop.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, speakers aren't needed to load tracks. Sounds like a software problem.

    Are XLR cables any better due to the soundquality?thanx

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The benefit of XLR cables is they offer balanced audio so you can run them over long distances and not worry about picking up noise in the signal

  • @Dodge2
    @Dodge2 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    But does the Dj cables do the same job as the audio interface? For ne for example, starting now, having to buy a 100$ sound interface its impossible.

    Okay RCA cables have 2 ends L/R and the XLR cables only have 1 so how does that work??

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need 2 XLR cables (one for left, one for right)

      Basically check the outputs on the TV, inputs on the speakers and find the connection that matches. Buy them and job done :)

  • @jarkko_tv

    I would add that the quality of USB cable can matter a lot when using midi gear with integrated audio interfaces. I just fought few evenings with strange grounding problems and crashes with my Novation Twitch because of a low quality USB cable.
    Novation has clear explanation about selecting a proper cable: support.novationmusic.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207378125-Creating-a-stable-setup-for-your-Novation-USB-devices
