Apsara Ali from Natarang - Ajay-Atul at their finest composition and Lavani dance form. Maharashtra,south of Madhya Pradesh’s, Karnataka’s and a type of composition is ‘Lavani’. Lavani combines conventional dance and song, in which people dance to Dholki’s (type of drum) beat.lyrics are teasing, tune is caching, to which women harmonize sensually. Long back In Maharashtra a lot of battles were fought and during which Lavani was an entertainment source and boosted the morale of soldiers who got tired in 18th to 19th centuries. The females performing Lavani dance, drape a sari which is approximately 9 meters in length "navari". These ladies style the hairs of themselves into a bun, which is in Hindi, a juda or ambada. They also wear various jewelry including earrings, kamarpatta, necklace, payal, put a bindi, which is quite large and red in color. The Lavani’s tempo is fast and united with dancers’ feet dancing to the rhythm.
Since I made a comment last, I am addicted to this routine by Sundari. I sometimes wonder how long it took her to adorn herself so gracefully and then perform only as Mayuris can render her routine with merit and panache, bravo, Denny
