  • Scooby Doo is a cartoon icon, but did you know he has been getting video games since the 80's? For some reason I never see anyone talk about any of these. Join me as I play every single Scooby Doo console game and hopefully solve the mystery: are there any good Scooby Doo video games?
    If you played any of these Scooby Doo games growing up, let me know what you think of these games!

    First Frights was one of the first games I ever played (and it ended being one of my most-played Wii games, even if I never figured out how to unlock the costumes), so it'll always hold a special place in my heart

    I actually like how you describe games as boring when needed, no one does it and maybe some people would say that's lazy but I feel that it's rights criticism. After all, games are supposed to be fun and if they are overly repetitive, stale or simply uninspired I feel that the adjective boring it's the closest thing that describes what you will feel while playing it. And when I don't like I game, the majority of the time is for that same reason. However, I think you could have extended a little bit more on some games.

      Thanks for the feedback! The thing is when it comes to a lot of the GBA games, there isn't really that much to talk about. But I do agree I could've talked more about the other 3D Scooby Doo games! I've never covered 23 games in one video before so I was trying to keep things short so it flow nicer. Normally on my other videos I go way more in depth about games!

    Night of a Hundred Frights is one of my favourite games, and it's not just the nostalgia talking. The scale of exploration, atmosphere and charm in that game is just incredible.
    So happy to see it being recognised, it's a real hidden gem!

    It feels so good to see Night of 100 Frights get some positive spotlight here cause it's imo the best Scooby Doo game by far, but also just such a solid metroidvania with a lot of great and unique style. One of my favorites of all time tbh

    Never understood why game makers always think of platformers when it comes to Scooby Doo. Come on, this show is about MYSTERY SOLVING. Sega and GBC had the right idea of a quest game where you solve puzzles and MYSTERIES (imagine that). This is a right idea, imagine if it was more developed with time... So again, WHY platformers?!?!

    I feel this video would've worked better as a multiple video series where you worked through all the games because you were clearly getting exhausted by the end, which just harms the video quality.
    But still cool video, really suprised I haven't seen more people talk about scooby doo game.

    I couldn't stop myself from laughing when you got to Who's Watching Who since the DS version was the only Scooby Doo game I owned as a kid. Technically I had Unmasked on GBA but I'd lost it years ago so it took me forever to even remember it. No matter how much nostalgia I have for Who's Watching Who, I can't deny that it's a terrible game. The platforming drove me absolutely insane as a kid (especially jumping across moving sea turtles in the 4th mystery and if you fall into the ocean at any point you're dead and go back to your checkpoint), but I guess I'll always love it since I grew up watching the classic cartoons that started in 1969. That makes me sounds way older than I actually am 😂

    I would love to see a Scooby-Doo game that's like a kid friendly version of Alan Wake. There's a game called Gylt that is similar to it. or I wouldn't mind seeing maybe an interactive Scooby-Doo game done by Telltale games or by the gaming studio that works on The Dark Pictures Anthology games. I've played Spider-Man (2018), Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Spider-Man 2 recently and I would love to see open world superhero games for shows like American Dragon: Jake Long, Danny Phantom, Static Shock, The Powerpuff Girls, and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Its crazy how these animation companies haven't thought of these ideas. They're missing out on money tbh. I would even play a Warner Bros. kart racer. I mean we did get a whole platform fighter from them last year. A big crossover kart racer wouldn't hurt. Nickelodeon has released 3 of them on modern consoles, Disney has Disney Speedstorm, and Dreamworks recently released Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing.

    Scooby doo unmasked for the psp is a game I never beat. I always used to have trouble with that game simply due to the racing levels from what I can remember. I haven’t entirely finished this video yet, but I just wanted to comment here to say that game was very challenging for some odd reason, along with getting lost in some of the levels due to its bad guidance.

    1. Lego game where all the levels are base on iconic scooby episodes and all the extra characters are the monsters and/or the disguises the gang weared in them

    3. A grarhic novel style game

    Hey, what about doing the MySims games? Those, especially Racing DS, are some of the best and, especially Party Wii/DS, worst games by EA of the time. And if you do cover them, try an Any% run of Racing DS. Due to some semi-easy glitches, you can beat the game in around 10 minutes. Just jump in front of a gate and a door and beat the final track.
    Plus, Racing DS > Racing Wii.

The game I played the least but did enjoy was the psp game who’s watching who, but did very much enjoy it.

    Apologies for the exceptionally long comment but here I go. To start, I do wish you spent a bit more time analyzing each game but I completely understand why you chose not to given you decided to cover 20 different games in one video. I feel like certain sections of the video weren't as interesting to me as others, primarily the sections on the handheld games, as you didn't have much to say about those games but the sections didn't last super long so it's not the biggest deal.
    I haven't played all the games here but I've played several of them (I made two different videos on Scooby-Doo games after all) so I thought I'd speak on the games I have played that you covered here. As someone who did give Classic Creep Capers on the N64 enough time, I'll just let you know it's awful. With Night of 100 Frights, I agree the game was excellent when it came to capturing the aesthetic and general vibe of the original Where Are You series but I do think it's a game that overstays it's welcome.
    Mystery Mayhem was a game I strongly disliked back when I played it for my first video on Scooby games and I still think the game isn't good. Going from Mystery Mayhem to Unmasked was like day and night for me because I found Unmasked to be a much more enjoyable experience so I cannot agree with you ranking Mystery Mayhem over Unmasked at all. I also could not disagree more in regards to your take on it's graphics as I believe the cel-shaded graphics of the title were a much needed change from the waxy visual style of previous sixth gen titles in the franchise.
    I also feel Unmasked didn't suffer the same "overstaying it's welcome" problem Night of 100 Frights had though it's problem is that I felt the game was too short and didn't have a whole lot to come back to. Also, on the costume mechanic in Unmasked, I do actually think it fits the series given the consistent gags across the series where Shaggy and Scooby would disguise themselves to trick the monsters and it's a neat translation of that into gameplay imo.
    Who's Watching Who on the PSP is alright in my opinion but I don't disagree that the game wasn't super great overall, it's a very mediocre title though it has some neat ideas like the GSI but that's about it for me. After playing it, I'm not surprised most people overlooked that title and still don't really talk about it.
    With that all said, I don't regret watching this video and am curious to see what you do in the future.

    • @CamReviews
      @CamReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for all the feedback :), I was trying something new here with this video and keeping things quick to keep the flow going. I think by the point I got to unmasked I was drained because I have played so many other Scooby Doo games for hours at that point. Looking back I'm not sure why I put Mystery Mayhem above that game, I do think unmasked is better looking back at it.
      This is my seventh video, so I hope to keep improving and trying new things. I very much appreciate the criticism :D

    • @MistressDove
      @MistressDove ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CamReviews No problem, I see potential here with you. My best advice would be to maybe split up a large video like this into multiple videos, so you could give each game a bit more time and attention.
