Hi, Nitram. Thanks very much for this. I wish I could bar 4ths using the thumb, but in my formative days, I worked hard on my callous where it is, and now I'm unable to bar across two strings with it. I could condition it, but it would take a few months. I wish I could, because I can see practical uses of it in Bach and some other solo pieces. My Heldenleben audition clarity would benefit a lot from a barred 4th. It's one of those skills I recommend, but can't actually do myself. :-) Hope you're well!
@@incrediblyusefulexercises Thanks for your prompt answer, Dennis! I manage to bar with the thumb but at a high cost, if I don't keep in shape. When playing both the G and D strings together, I press the D string with the bit where the nail begins: not pleasant if the callous is gone, it hurts for a while...
Barring the pinky is tough! Time for me to work the little guy out. Thanks for another great video
Thanks, Wiggly! Yes, it is. Good luck!
Hi, Dennis. Thanks for these indeed incredibly useful exercises! What is your take on barred perfect fourths using the thumb, please?
