  • A neighbor's doorbell camera captured an SUV as it sped down the road and toward a boat club where a child's birthday party was taking place.
The sheriff says two children were killed at the scene. An 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, who were siblings.
In addition, 15 victims received first aid, including adults and young children. Nine of those were transported with serious, life-threatening injuries to area hospitals.

should get a fair trial from a jury of peers before sentencing, that's how things go in america, regardless of guilt, they are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, in that process we determine guilt and culpability.
a vehicle veering off like this because alcohol is completely different from a vehicle that veers like this because the driver is exhausted, say from being overworked and having no choice to work or lose their job possibly destroying their life, they don't deserve the same punishment, we aren't savages,do try not to act like it by instantly condemning people hm?
the same incident can occur from thousands of things, i bet you'll hope people are more tolerant and understanding and patient than you if you ever end up looking bad on tv.

vehicular manslaughter isn’t life sentence normally; but for her it would be base off her age because I saw local Facebook groups say the driver is 66 years old. It’s an 15 year sentence because it’s also an DUI.

Alcoholism is quite literally mental illness. It's not as simple as making a conscious decision to have a drink. We are not strict enough on drunk driving. I'm sure we're going to find out that this is not her first, fifth or even 10th drunk driving charge, but no one gets any prison until they kill someone. I doubt it would be possible to prevent this from happening. If an idiot drives drunk, then not having a license won't stop them.
The problem is that the people who do it don't care. They need to be somewhere, and that's all that matters to them.
No amount of car accident videos/adverts, classes, newsletters, or warnings at all will prevent an inconsiderate AH to not drive under the influence or speed.

@peacenow42 You can read my mind and thoughts ? No , you cannot . My thoughts and genuine prayers are for the victims , their families , and for the Lady that crashed into the building , and her loved ones . I also pray for those first responders that responded to the scene , as well as the witnesses . I also pray for the Medical staff . My comment was in response to the news coverage and the police NOT releasing the drivers name and protecting her , which is NOT standard and everyone in this comment section knows it . Very often they release the photo of the person , their name , and their age , and Police body camera of the arrest . And criminal history . Stop pretending otherwise . The
Police and media are treating this person differently because of the people involved and their status . One more thing , I am NOT the individual that drove drunk and/or on illicit and illegal drugs and crashed into a building killing two children and injuring many others . You haven't said anything about the person that caused the accident , and yet you make negative comments towards me because I have pointed out the obvious that they have treated the Lady differently than they treat other in similar situations . Look deeply into your inconsistencies , your different rules for different people , and examine your soul , conscience , mind , and heart . In my area they put the pictures in the Newspaper of those that have been convicted of DWI/DUI after their trial and list their punishment etc. - guess the one's that are never listed - the VIP's , the " connected and protected " , the different rules for different people crowd , the elite . 😉

So tragic, cant imagine the grief of the parents/families at the scene seeing your child under a vehicle in an instant where they were celebrating. How drunk do you have to be to not see a whole building not even slowing down. I cant pass judgement, i have drove buzzed many times in my youth thinking i could tell if i was too wasted, luckily never had any incidents. I cant imagine the guilt this lady will feel for the rest of her life.
