Generally bearing and shaft are assembled with tight fit between ID and OD at that time is it possible to maintain thin film of oil in between bearing ID and shaft OD?
thin film is between the bearing runway ; the bearing ID becomes the integral part of the shaft.

Do transmission shafts loose power depending on its length? I want to build a machine which I'll by using a shaft that at the beginning it rotates with a pulley belt from a motor and its supposed that the shaft will be 10-12 meters long and I'm afraid it might loose its power and torque at the end of the shaft.
