  • This is pretty similar to my current Hiking Leg Strength routine. I walk you through each exercise from start to finish, and share my thoughts on some of the concepts around breathing and having a good foot to hip connection.

As a middle-aged someone who's serious about being able to hike into my 80's (and who is often passed by these folks on the trail), I'm so thoroughly addicted to your Momentum program. As a dance teacher, I cheer every time you remind us to keep those knees over toes. I'm very much into using my body in a healthy way to avoid injury and get stronger. And, after just a few weeks, I've seen improvements in breathing and my power going up hill. I appreciate so many (over 100) different workouts to choose from depending on what part of me needs to move. This is the best!

Nice to see you making videos again. Congrats on the new space! I really enjoy these type of videos and hope you will make more.

Thanks Chase - glad to see you again ! I found this workout simple to follow but still challenging. I can’t hang very well due to upper back tightness ( it feels like my sides are going to tear open lol ) & painful shoulders but a little bit at a time will hopefully improve. It’s true about “being ready “ to hike at any time. I’m off for a 4 day hike in May ( 3 Capes Tasmania) & I am madly trying to get steps in & breathing up. Now hip is playing up . I just want to be ready - you’ve inspired me to keep doing the workouts consistently. Keep up the great work x

@@lindacrichton5277 yeah you’ll want to ease into the hang by keeping some weight into your feet for a while before adding the lift. You can also just hang laterally off a door frame on one arm. Hard to explain. You’ve got plenty of time to make progress before May, and 3 capes is pretty manageable now all the huts and trails have been put in. But don’t let that stop you doing the work!

Awesome. something that works really well in the MTP program is that each exercise is broken down into a short video (vs. one full length routine video)
this is better (and what popular apps do) than programs with longer videos.
long videos work really well for youtube. good luck!! and good job

I’m jealous of that backyard setup. Would love to workout there. I’ve been setting up my home gym like that and the next thing I’m thinking of adding is a hang board too

I also hate calf raises, but they can't be avoided! I get my "hated" exercises out of the way early on, too! 😂

What brand exercise mat is that Chase? I'm trying to find a solid mat but all the mats in finding are spongy / foam / cushioned etc. Is it just a piece of solid rubber? Thanks.

Very envious of that space Chase. How many times do you do this a week? And is the same value there if you fit the different parts of this kind of routine through a day rather than all at once.
Anyway, great to see you doing your thing. And also knowing I’m not the only who can’t count well while I’m. exercising. lol.

I bought weighted vest to use when walking my dog.
It’s very useful for training legs.
