I haven't been to Hastings since I was a kid, and it looks just as lovely now as it was back in the sixties. Just a little bit of info for anyone who might not be aware. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told when I was a youngster that those "tall sheds" were where the local fishermen hung their nets to dry.
Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic. 😂. A lot of my adult life was spent in Hastings. Volunteering at the wonderful Fisherman's Museum, countless hours in George Street over ☕ and 🍺. How wonderful to see the same old faces outside the ☕ shops and the rather boring pier. You've made a grumpy man very happy. Thanks a million Neil 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for a tour of this lovely English seaside town. The annual parade of a crew of pirates, numbering in their thousands, is wonderful to see. The next Pirates' Day is 15 July 2025. Note it in your calendar. Lucky me, I live here. Subscribed.
Thanks for that Neil, We will be visiting again in a couple of days time for four days, This has certainly but me in the mood for it, I hope the weather is as good as it was for you.
Wow, Hastings is definitely a beautiful seaside town with awesome looking buildings with shops, pubs, restaurants, museums and much more around town and beautiful scenery with the high cliffs this is really an amazing place to explore both the old and new of Hastings another awesome tour and until next time take care and thank you? 🇬🇧👋☕🇬🇧
I totally agree that George street is fantastic. I walked through that street back in 2015 and I remember thinking the street had a kind of Mediterranean "feeling".
Its a really nice place all it needs is a sandy beach instead of pebbles. They would loads of tourists then. Rebecca is so pretty she should show herself more often . Great filming as ever , you should offer courses. Love to you both from an old lady from Yorkshire. 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When we used to go on holiday there, we were told they put the pebbles there to help against the tides. That's why there are large boulders there too. Not sure how true that is though.
I think all it needs are more trees, especially along the front, palm trees if possible. As for the beach, I prefer a pebble beach, can't stand sand in my shoes, in my food, in my eyes with a strong wind, in fact everywhere.
We used to walk down George Street all the time. Shame the large toy shop is no longer there. Used to buy toys there for nieces and nephews and even get the odd teddy or doll repaired
Thank you . That walk brought back many happy memories. I lived in St Leonard’s for many years , then moved to Hastings our son spent his first 16 years there then we moved to Wiltshire , still miss being there and it hasn’t changed much x

@@GimbalWalkTV Indeed it was. I was quite surprised. I went to Bexhill-on-Sea a long time ago, and went into Hastings. There were more people around then. I wonder whether fewer tourists in general go there these days.
