I've always felt that the original organ version, despite its magnificence, is sometimes too 'thick' to see through the detailed structure. This version has both it glory while transparent. Amazing job!
though I like this accordion version very much, the problem that you mention about (some) organ versions, is not caused by the organ as an instrument, but by the players ;-) ... at least if it's a quite good organ (you can play also very 'slim' on an organ, if you choose the fitting registers) -- What the accordion is able to do better is the dynamics

There's something I love about how much sound you can get from such small instruments. And the playing was excellent. I saw a comment chastising the poster of this video for not naming the musicians. I believe that the musicians themselves posted this video. They are Renée Bekkers and Pieternel Berkers of the duo TOEAC, whose website is in the description of the video. Accordions need to be taken more seriously as musical instruments. Maybe if I ever get rich, I might get my hands on one and try to learn it myself. After all, my grandfather played the instrument, though the last time I saw him was when I was 5, and he has died since.

So glad I discovered these intimate angels at 1:45 a.m. This time facilitated for me the depth of silence necessary to more fully perceive the opulent intimacy which so graces their performances. Indeed, 'performance' is insufficient for what they accomplish. With their videos, I'm now finally getting in my later years the depth of the accordion and the powerful grasp of it's gripping intimacy through such artistic souls, assisted with exceptional instruments, as well. I'm fairly blown away. Wish a CD were available, I was only able to get an MP3 of their work.

Già vedere due fisarmoniche Pigini ( come la mia ) mi fanno subito pensare alle Marche e Castelfidardo, oltre ai miei studi al Conservatorio . Le due fisarmoniciste suonano la Passacaglia del grande Kantor in modo impeccabile , con la produzione di un suono bellissimo e con un dialogo perfetto. Bellissima esecuzione.
