I just bought similar but a lot more scruffy condition kickbike for 20 euros and have been planning of turning it into a 500w electric moped sort of thingie with a seat and everything. It looks pretty funky with 28" front an 18" rear already :)

Really wish I could build something like this but it's so hard to find a old school scooter in the UK. Brilliant video looks like a quality built scooter.
Basically doing the same thing with a Schwinn Shuffle. I used a 30 cal ammo tin on some struts to house the controller and a small 12v battery to run lights and a horn. The 36v ebike battery mounts to the down tube. Eventually gonna get some suspension forks for it and see about getting a fatter front tire. Had lots of luck with some Maxxis tires on my other bikes

Good work and a great job. But I've a few remarks for you. A. Please don't use an aluminium box for the batteries cover. It'll overheat by the usage and the sun. You can cover the box with the car sun blocker for the front window. Cut it in the size of the box. B. If you're using batteries. Why not use cellphone power banks as additionally? It'll give you more Amp for long distance. And you can charge the scooter with USB cable. Simply connect the batteries to the power bank(s). And the power bank to USB. Overall great job :)

The batteries won't get hot except for maybe the sun... that's a 5P pack supplying a 15 amp controller. He have to be using some 3Amp rated discharge Li-ion batteries in order to see significant heat buildup, and I doubt very much that is the case.
Till date, I am confused at the kind of people who dislike such a build video. I mean what and how does it offend you, stole their chances of selling oil,may be!
He's creating a plenty of enemy building this: Petroleum refineries, gasoline retailer, even competing ebike, electric scooter retailers and ebike battery retailers would see this as an eye sore.
There are as many dumb reasons as there are dislikes. "Stupid colour. I've would've painted it differently." "I don't know how to build this." "I don't have any money to build this." "I'm a loser who has never achieved anything in his/her life so let's hit that thumbs down button." etc. Or someone saw your comment and dislikes the video just because of that. It's a sad world out there.

i built an electric bike that has a hub motor in the front wheel, its on a big single gear steel frame bike so its really heavy. i think im going to switch to one of these for my build. thanks for the helpful guide.

Nice job. I would have heated and bent the stem support tube backwards to give it a bit more rake. Never like the upright rake of these types of scooters.

That's awesome!! A disc brake on front would have put the icing on the cake in my opinion. But that's an awesome build man!

Nicely done. Would recommend putting buttons on side when possible, not on top. For less chance of water damage in rain.
