@@Piper_PA I have no doubt that it is incredibly tough, but I'm curious what factors contribute to their statement that it is THE toughest - elevation doesn't seem to completely explain it. I'm not even doubting their claim, this is genuine curiosity since Wisconsin is the course I'm looking at for my first full distance next year.
I havent done it yet, planning on doing IMWI next year, but from what ive read its a combination of relentless hills, many races have a mountain to climb in the middle and the rest is mostly flat but wisconsin has basically no flat parts. The other big thing is that once at the top of the hills, you have to keep on the brakes going down because theyre very windy and have many sharp turns, so you cant use the energy you built up in the hill very much. Hope that answers, but it all probably comes down to opinion
