I agree. However, back then, the psychology of Trump was not yet fully known. It took the years that followed for the truth about Trump to be realized by many who had previously bought into the idea that his apparent "uniqueness" compared to presidential candiates of the past as actually being signs he was (and remains) a severely psychologically disordered threat to all free and democratic societies.

She's correct about that. Too bad Nikki Haley also made a sweeping generalization claiming that people who are in their 80's are automatically in mental decline, because that's not strictly true. Some people in their 70's and 80's are sharp, while others aren't. It all depends on how your body ages, how well you take care of it and your brain too.
Would you bet on it? Let's say you have a choice between two landlords. One landlord is 80, the other is 30. You are renting a workshop from the landlord you choose. If your landlord dies, the property will pass to their next of kin, who will then sell that property out from under you and not allow you to rent the property. You need this property to make your living. Are you going to choose the 30 year old landlord or the 80 year old one?
It's not ageist to point out that 80 is old. It is, and people need to stop bullshitting themselves and actually plan ahead. If you're 80, your mental health is likely going into decline soon. If you're trying to run the United States of America, we need to prepare for that. That does not mean putting a person in the White House that you would typically otherwise put into an old folk's home. That's why this election sucks. Last night I had a dream about two men (who everyone seemed to like, but deep down I'm not sure people do) at a coffee shop who'd both brought their sons to work. It seemed to be too much for the men to handle their sons running around and do their work at the same time. I waited a long time just to get two cups of coffee because not only did the men have their sons to deal with, they both liked to talk, and they weren't really paying attention to the tasks at hand. They didn't appear to be very good at multitasking. One of them gave me a soda straw for my coffee he was so out of it. I rolled my eyes and left the coffee shop to go to the church to take my husband his coffee.
