I'm so sorry for the poor quality of this video, my memory card has broken so I had to use my phone! I promise my next video will look better!

I have the earbook edition as well and I love it. This is the most beautiful earbook they have ever made and is to my own opinion their best album. I have all 3 earbooks from The Quantum Enigma, The Holographic Principle and now Omega. This is so far my favourite. This new album gives me a little bit Design Your Universe vibes because of the art, the colours and how the lyrics are placed. I am happy with this one. Finally they have orchestral version for this one.
It is such a lovely collector's piece! I've managed to squeeze it on one of my shelves but I'm not sure what I will do in the future if they make any more! I have the yearbook editions too, they always do such a good job with them. I can see what you mean with the comparison to Design Your Universe, it would explain the songs all being so catchy!
@@vickeydisneyqueen It is, wonderfull piece. Lucky I have still some space for future earbook editions. The yearbook is The Essence Of Epica book? To do more comparising, the lyrics in Kingdom Of Heaving Part 3 say "what is above, so is below" depicts the Design Your Universe cover when she is meditating and the city skyline with the moon is above and she is below underwater. All dot connectors. That's what I love about Epica with their deep meaning spiritual lyrics.
@@91JRH Sorry that was my phone autocorrecting earbook! I do have The Essence of Epica though and its such a good book! I love that we have another Kingdom of Heaven song! Its nice that they link the albums that way!
@@vickeydisneyqueen oh haha, i have disabled autocorrection on my phone. I don't know why, I still don't have The Essence Of Epica book yet. For me the link with the other albums is this trilogy didn't start with The Quantum Enigma, but actually with Design Your Universe.

Hi Vickey. I know late to party but listening to album tonight and wow. It may be one their very best. Simone vocals are really outstanding on this record. I also love the music. Epica is just so great. My last show before the plague was seeing Epica Jan. in 2020 and was one of best concerts I have ever been to. It was Design your Universae anniversary show and just fantastic. Things are getting better here in US so hopefully live concerts coming back in summer and fall. Are you going to watch livestream of Nightwish in May? I really love their new album. Anyway, I hope you are well and live treated you good. Jerry
Its so exciting to hear this album for the first time, I hope you love it as much as I do! I wish Design Your Universe had come to the UK! The last time I was Epica was in 2018! I haven't paid for the stream but if they realise it I might buy it that way! Stay safe!
I'm like you I usually hate ballads but there's something about Rivers that just gets me. Rob van der Loo who wrote that song basically described it as the struggle though life. And since the album was written and recorded just when C19 was just about to dominate our lives it makes it even more poignant.
It was the perfect time for Rivers to be released. I'm still listening to it every day and its constantly in my head!

Great review! And I thought the lighting looked fine :) I would have to listen to it a few more times to decide on a favorite but I know Rivers is definitely up there for me! Simone's vocals were absolute perfection.
I can't stop listening to Rivers so its definitely the favourite for me! Simones voice really speaks to me, she's outdone herself! You will have to yet me know when you decide on a favourite!
@@vickeydisneyqueen After more listening, I have decided that Code of Life is my favorite. I can't stop rocking out to it every time it comes on 😄 Rivers takes second place though!

Hi Vickey, I bought the Earbook version and my orchestral and instrumental discs are also mislabeled, I think it might be all of them!

Yes, I have the misprint as well. I heard that many more have it so I guess that the whole earbook 4cd print has this issue.
It's kind of cool to have but I keep catching myself going from the wrong disc!
Hi Vickey! What song (or songs) of Epica is your favourite of all time? I have not listened this band so much yet, so what album would you recommend for me first? 😊☀️
My all time favourite Epica song is Reverence but I wouldn't say that's a good starting point. I'd say listen to Never Enough and Storm The Sorrow as your starter singles. If you prefer to start with an album The Divine Conspiracy was my first and I think that's a great gateway!

I agree with with most of your review. After multiple listenings Omega is my favourite Epica album. Hard to choose a single song as there are no weak songs on this album. ( I love the Epica intro's too) Hats off to producer Joost who not only produced the album but also mixed it himself this time. All those layers, all those instruments and sounds you can all hear it. Must have been some kind of job to get it done this way. A reviewer said that the music is the soul of Epica but Simone is the heartbeat on this album. She carries the songs and brings them to life, amazing. The end of Synergy is an incredible piece of vocal acrobatics. Anyway we have an amazing Epica album to listen to. Enjoy!
Joost really is a fantastic person for Epica to work with, they seem to get along so well from the vlogs! This album is such a showcase of exactly what a band can do when everyone collaborates well. Its definitely a masterpiece! I totally agree with the Synergize ending, Simone's vocals can do no wrong!
Great review Vicky! I agree that this album is definitely the catchiest.......a lot of the melodies are stuck in my head!

@@vickeydisneyqueen yeah....I remember back in 2018 wishing I’d got tickets to another show.....they really blew me away. Even my hubby thought they were excellent and he’s not really into them. I would go to them all if I could 🤪 It will be 4 years by the time they get here ......hopefully they’ll come back sooner the next time🙏🏻

To be honest, i don't get the hype this album have got. I found it a bit boring to listen too. Agree it's a bit to soft album. Ill put the album in the bottom of the releases. Scale from 1-10 ill give it 3.
That's fine John, we cant all enjoy the same things! I hope this album grows on you but if you prefer listening to other albums thats totally cool! Thanks for watching anyway! :-)
