You know a speedrun is great when half of the tech instructions sound like Rocky Horror dance moves

It's just a jump to the left!
then a wavedash to the righttttt

This was fun to watch while doing chores. I play on switch and didnt even realize the additional button mappings they added sometime within the last year, so it was really exciting to try out the demo dash button and successfully did the skip in resort!

Thanks for this. I'm nowhere near speedrunning Celeste, but this video is full of clever tips just to make normal runs a little easier.

You're not supposed to use supers, hypers, wavedashes and wall-bounces before they're explicitly taught to you in game if that's what you're talking about. Levels were designed to be beaten without them.

@@qsafex I've found myself using wavedashes in some stages before it was taught to me, made a lot of them way easier

I still have the save file of my first speedrun (It's a 3:22:53, I'm pretty bad) and I'm not planning on deleting it

That cheat code will be helpful for when my brother and I want to Speedrun specific levels on new Timer File. Example All 3 summits back to back or something.

This is a great place to get comfortable with doing things with Theo. Cause there is just a pretty wide open spot. So get used to throwing him against the wall, dashing into him😂

This might be too old to get a response. But out of curiosity, seems like the crouch dash is strictly better as it also makes your hitbox smaller. So why would you ever use the regular dash?
    Thanks for the tutorial!

frozen is gonna be busy with FF for the next week or so, but I'll pass the question along and hopefully you'll have an answer in the near future!

I am new to celeste and had to Google the same question. There's actually lots of downsides to using crouch dash as your primary dash. There's a few forum posts that explain the reasons allot better than I would be able to.

From what I know the demo dash with the jump techniques give you less height and more distance which can be bad for a few places
