I just bought a new construction home and I am so excited! I am absolutely in love with that dark green accent wall. I just completes the space so beautifully. I really loved the tip about the picture frames because it really does make a huge difference as to how you see the actual picture itself. Hey Karin - I love the psychology and thought process behind the design schemes - every space is different and really needs to be adapted to the people using the space and the purpose of the space. Every space you and the HOB team curate and design blows me away, even though it may not to be to my particular taste or style I still admire and love the finished product. I happen to be decorating a lounge for a friend who is a photographer and wants dark green walls, but a more masculine version. I love the idea of using the same frames for each photo to allow the photos to really standout, thank you! I am due to start studying interior design in September in London. Wow, the overall colors in the house. Definitely has that Scandinavian cabin feel. *The wood grain unit was awesome, and simple wood table, and airiness of the place. I liked how it transitioned into one level. All the accessories were awesome. The sofa was a good color, but hope it was vinyl (animal friendly). I love those paintings, near the sofa with the mounting, but should have been little higher. A bigger painting of the redwood tree would have looked better. The green tree, next to the sofa....it crowds the space. What you could have put there on that wall.... a mirror..because it would make it transition from window to window. The tree could have worked if you placed it on a tall wood pedestal, to draw the eye up...in line with the window above the patio door. That pot does not match the other furniture...should have been square in a wood tone...or just take that tree out. *The kitchen was a really good spatial scheme....love the vases, and colors. The first bedroom looked BAD. Maybe transition that same wood grain into a headboard, and have it extend to the ceiling, felt a little crowded. The headboard was unique, and interesting, but I think it needed a combination wood back drop of the light wood. Those two pillows...looked 1970's. The paintings overhead looked bad , maybe a ledge that protected from falling. Those end tables did not match well, because it was a totally a different style. The room looked dated, something like 1990's..from a motel. The beautiful linens were nice. more The linens...the color scheme was beautiful. The first bathroom looked bad. I didn't like the wallpaper in the first bathroom, it made the room feel dated, and small. I think if you had the dark green color on one wall, it would have been nicer....the accessories don't work well, what was that? The 2nd bathroom was better. *The garage was awesome, and that pegboard, wow, as well as the cabinets.... I loved all the colors in there. *The presenter was very professional.
I'm loving this home and all of the details. Definitely my aesthetic. My favorite aspect of the home is the flow and how everything is appointed without being pretentious or cookie cutter. I do have a question though. I also own a townhome that has hardwoods on the main level. However, I keep going back and forth about whether I should replace the carpet on the stairs and bedrooms with newer carpet or continuing the hardwoods? Thanks in advance Karin!

Very well put together. I love the custom woodwork throughout the house. The Walldesigns in the garage are very unusual and sooo cool. :) the only little thing that i can´t agree fully on might be calling the wallpaper in the masterbath "modern". But that´s just a difference in taste. Again a very successful project. Thank you for showing us around. :)

Very well put together. I love the custom woodwork throughout the house. The Walldesigns in the garage are very unusual and sooo cool. :) the only little thing that i can´t agree fully on might be calling the wallpaper in the masterbath "modern". But that´s just a difference in taste. Again a very successful project. Thank you for showing us around. :)
The Art Deco-style wallpaper in the bathroom is definately considered modern. I wish she would have told us the manufacturer. I've been looking for hours, now! Anybody know?
