My husband has had to sell a big part of his Transformers collection in the past so we would have enough money for food. We feel his pain. I'm really glad he got to keep everything and still have a fun Christmas.

They might be considered an investment for our heirs, but for the collectors, we don't plan of giving them up. My collection will be with me when I die. It's probably worth in the neighborhood of $60,000 and I'm a guy who makes half of that a year and I plan on never selling it, unless forced to. But to my kids, when I kick, it might be in the $120,000 or so range and they can do what they want with it. This guy is a collector, and probably has been buying things that he finds important to him for decades and has made the decision that the most valuable stuff he has, is worth giving up because in comparison to his kids, they are not the most valuable things he has. How is that not worthy of respect?
