Rory had all the honor's that he wanted during his playing days those honors were his fans who came from all walks of life and from all over the world, Rory would have refused that honour and said I will only accept if it is given to Van Morison, Gary Moore and Phil Lynott, all 4 of us.
Rory Gallagher was just voted the best musician to come from Ireland, beating out Thin Lizzy and U2 by a wide margin. It's a crying shame that more people here in the US don't know about this man and his bass player for 20 years Jerry Macevoy (sp?). His slide playing is sweet and spiritual for my soul. Thanks
@Tessmage Tessera My apologies, I didn't mean to sound like an ahole knowitall. I found Rory back in 1977, and I've been trying to spread the word about his godlike status ever since. I live in Ohio, and even people who like rock music here aren't familiar with his genius. So every chance I get I try to raise his profile because in my 50 + years of music, he's among the top 5 I've ever heard. Thanks

I saw him a few years before this, maybe 1973, in Chicago. There was no stage, and we literally sat at Rory Gallagher's feet! Great memory.
That close up as he launches, PHEWWWW ... you know he is full on committed 💥💥
Man that's the best gig I've ever watched in my life and I'm pushing 62 and somehow I got suppressed from this Band ?
I'm sure you've heard Philby and Bad Penny by now?
Rory's best ever band. Rob, Lou, and Gerry brought the best out of him. And the best of Rory is as good as it gets. Thanks for posting man.
This was The Best Line Up Rory Ever Had,Keep Rockin The heavens My friend,Poppa..............
The Blues King of Ireland RIP Rory
Amazing bass solo from Gerry McAvoy!
YES, INDEED, I ALSO CONSIDER HIM ONE OF THE GREATEST BLUES BASS PLAYERS ! Gerry was the other marvelous half of his friend, THE MAGICIAN RORY ! What else to say ?
Sadly missed by many people, numero uno in my book in the alltime greats category, others look the part but Rory was the real deal.legend.
Incredible guitar man Rory, probably the best of them all world wide & certainly one of my very top faves and a great all round musician songwriter & incredible ‘Live’ performer. The power and energy here is just incredible & the atmosphere has you right there in the venue and I know - as having been there in moments just like this. This number has always been a Rory Showstopper and arguably this is the best version right here played by his strongest line up right the way through:-
Continue then to rest in peace Rory Gallagher the forever King 👑 🥁of Blues/Rock
Chris 🎼
Rory, you played the hell out of this Canned Heat song!
And I know you hear this because as long as humans have ears, you and your amazing talent will be alive forever.
It's actually not a Canned Head song it was originally written by William Harris in 1928.
I remember rory in the Christchurch town hall New Zealand . My first concert in the 1970s. Absolutely outstanding. He will live on in my mind till I die.
I keep coming back to watch this uncompromising performance - the dynamics, the clarity of the vocal and the in your face presentation - superb.
Me too. I’m 71 and still love listening to Rory..I’m laying on my bed with my wife in Hanoi Vietnam…
@@antonysmith3336 I love that part of the world I learned to play guitar in Singapore bands in the 60's.
