Linda is lovely, such a wonderful friend and fellow doll rescuer! Loved the makeovers to they r fabulous! I myself got a grail doll I've been waiting for a long time. She was actually a doll I lost when I was a teenager and I'm so glad to have her back. She is the Ballet Recital Barbie from 1997 and I got a super good deal on her by the Ebay seller. I wasn't exactly fond of this particular Barbie back then and I kind of took her for granted. But after a long while I finally came to my senses and realized how magnificently beautiful she is and I'm so glad to finally have her back 💗💗💗

I just love her so much! 🧜♀️💖 She has such a pretty face - I love her makeup, especially her lip color - & that pink hair is everything! I LOVE how you restyled her - pure perfection! 💗 Also, that merman Ken is ADORABLE! What a cutie! ☺️ Oh my, I'm just imagining the effort it must have taken to get through all of that HAIR for the Jewel Mermaids! 🙉 It looks like they were rooted with enough hair for a human sized wig! 🤣 Gotta love that 90s quality! Awesome job with all of the new cuties in your collection! 👏❤⭐ As for my own thrifting story... A couple months ago, a friend took me to a barn sale store out in the country - I live in the midwestern US & this store is a converted barn that apparently used to house chickens back in the day... like tons of them! 🐔😅Anyway, we came across a big cardboard box filled with Barbie dolls, Barbie clothes, & doll accessories... Most of the dolls were naked and their hair definitely needed some TLC. As I looked through the box, I was amazed to find a 1995 Sparkle Beach Barbie! (One of my top wish-list dolls!) Sparkle Beach Christie was one of my FAVORITE dolls growing up & I still have my original, so finding Barbie to go with her was amazing! Barbie's hair was SO matted & dry, but it wasn't cut, so I was glad of that. She also had blue stuff all over her face - I wasn't sure if it was ink or makeup. I also found 1997 Pearl Beach Barbie with VERY tangled hair, but uncut as well. I LOVED the Pearl Beach line as a kid & still have my Teresa, Skipper, & Kira from my childhood, but Barbie had left me during a garage sale years ago (a regret), however, I had held on to her swimsuit, so reuniting this Pearl Beach Barbie with the swimsuit from my original doll was very satisfying. 💙 I gathered a large handful of dolls that appeared to be from the 80s & 90s along with some clothes - I only paid $24.00 for everything, which was amazing! When I came home I set about identifying the rest of the crew & I was blown away at some of the finds - especially the ones from the 80s - they were in such good condition considering their age! 🤩🥳 Later that night I attempted my first doll makeover - the Sparkle Beach Barbie with the blue face! I was so curious to see if the blue would come off.... thankfully it was just makeup & washed off easily when I placed her in the sink. She has such a beautiful facial screening!Then I began the process of untangling her matted hair. After some brushing & a boil wash I couldn't believe the results - she looked BRAND NEW!! The entire experience of finding those Barbies & my first doll makeover is such a special memory. 💖 I felt like something important from my childhood was healed & restored to me. All these memories of playing with my dolls as a kid came flooding back to my mind & I realized how much of an escape, therapy, & way of coping with childhood trauma my dolls had been. I remembered vividly the local toy store my mom would take me to when I was a little girl & how she & I would just spend time looking at all the beautiful Barbie dolls & all the Fashion Avenue fashion packs... My mom passed away last year & being able to recover those happy childhood memories meant a lot to me. 💖 The Pearl Beach Barbie makeover was one of the most challenging makeovers I've attempted so far - her Kanekelon hair was very tangled & there was A LOT of it to comb through! However, the results were SO worth it!! Her hair looks AMAZING now - she's definitely got that hair swish factor going for her! 😄 I ended up going back to the barn store a couple more times to gather more treasures from that cardboard box. This makeover was so satisfying to watch I love the music you use for your makeovers arjen I usually put your makeover vids on while restyling my dolls
My favorites are: the one you made to look like yourself, the non-binary princess; and the pink-haired mermaid, because you branched out into using curlers and did well with the tinfoil tip! Now you can do that again and again! BTW, I am known as the thrifting queen in my neck of the woods. I don't know what my best-ever doll thrift was, but right now in my living room are displayed all my Happy Holiday Barbies, all thrifted or otherwise bought second hand, for $7-15 for the boxed ones, and $1-3 for the unboxed ones. I have 10 in box and 8 ballgown ones unboxed, plus 4 unboxed budget holiday casual girls. There is also last year's holiday Tinker Bell (in box, but I did buy her new for my partner for Xmas), and the dark red velvet dress Belle (I found her and her dress separately! so exciting), as well as a Russian princess Doll of the World dressed in red with a golden crown (in box, $5) in the mix. In fact, I don't have space to display them all in the living room and they have spilled over into my bedroom. So yeah, I am crazy like you, Arjen!

The Midge makeover was my fave. And then the purple and yellow. Those big pink curls were super nice! When you pulled out the crimper I panicked a little. I recently melted a doll’s hair with a curling iron. An online blog said nylon hair could withstand 300 degrees Fahrenheit. That blog was wrong. But I’d taken a bit of advice from you and tested on the lowermost hair and tested at the very end of the hairs. So the doll just needed a trim after my error. 😂
You did such a beautiful job making these dolls over. My favorite was the magical mermaid. The curls!!! She looks so amazing! Linda, you did such an amazing job thrifting these. I've had some good thrift finds but these are EPIC!!! 💗

The Midge makeover was my fave. And then the purple and yellow. Those big pink curls were super nice! When you pulled out the crimper I panicked a little. I recently melted a doll’s hair with a curling iron. An online blog said nylon hair could withstand 300 degrees Fahrenheit. That blog was wrong. But I’d taken a bit of advice from you and tested on the lowermost hair and tested at the very end of the hairs. So the doll just needed a trim after my error. 😂

There is the Barbie Extra #11 with a very long, neon green braid. Some might think the color is more of a yellow, but I have this doll and the color is more neon green. I think there might have been an earlier makeover of this doll. 💚
