Peeps saying NWA's track should be No.1 aren't aware of the significance of "The Message". they're probably some dudes who only know the surface of the 80's. ignorant to it's roots.
Yep, based on the comments in the video, these guys have a VERY surface understanding of the 80s. They list "Afrika" as "flipping it in its head by adding electro to its music" in 1986 not realizing that using electric sounds in "its music" was not new. There was electronic break dance in at least, 1982 and probably before. If they titled the video "10 shit rap songs from the 80s" it would have been closer to the truth. Even "Pee Wee Herman" by Joeski Love beats many of the songs on their list. I mean Beastie Boys? Seriously?
The message is the most defining hip hop track ever made. I said that in the 80s, and I'm sure I'll say it until the day I die. Planet rock is also a massive track. No true hip hop fan can deny either of these tracks. They are still on my playlist now.

N.W.A. are great, and definitely carved a new lane in hip hop, but "The Message" was the song that gave hip hop meaning. There would be no N.W.A. without Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.
ProsecutorGodot Yes And N.W.A. Expressed Themselves Harder Than P.E. X Clan Paris And Askari X Not Better Just Harder. Which As We All Saw In The Rodney King Tape. Yes N.W.A. Used Very Vulgar And Explicit Language Which Was/Is Needed. No Respect Towards Me None For You.
"Ain't No Half Stepping" by Big Daddy Kane and "T.R.O.Y." by Pete Rock and CL Smooth. "Children's Story" by Slick Rick. (but you had Slick in the HM, so we're cool)
Agreed!!! The early 2000's were shaping up to be a good decade for rap music , but IMO when 50 cent hit the scene that's when rap music started going down hill
it really is 50 cent that ruins everything, ever since In da club, we got lean back, every songs from 2 chainz, and rick ross. so thanks fifty cent of grey, you ruins everything(in popular and mainstream hip-hop on middle and end of 2000's)
+angel eleven I know now I feel kind of embarrassed blasting their music in my car now because everyone's thinking I'm just someone who became a fan because of the movie. I was blasting their music in high school.
Majority of MAINSTREAM rap is shit. But it pisses me off when people say rap now is shit. If you actually looked, there's tons of great rappers out there. Watsky, Caleborate, Childish Gambino, some of ASAP Mob (Ferg, Twelvy, and Nast are the best out of ASAP imo), Odd Future is good if you don't take it too seriously, Kendrick is pretty good too but he's also overrated but still good. There's a ton more if you actually look.
The point is: There's shitty rappers from every generation, and there's great rappers from every generation. Hip-Hop/Rap has changed a lot and varies between subgenres, kind of hard to compare WHOLE generations of Hip-Hop.

I don't understand something? On your Top 10 Beastie Boys Songs, you ranked NSTB at the #5, and Fight For Your Party at #3, both are for the '80s, and NSTB is my favourie BB song and it should've been at the top 3. Anyways, now you put NSTB at the list, and not Fight For Your Right?? I don't get a thing.

Honestly there were whole groups of people who didn't listen to nwa because of how degrading and vulgar it was..... everyone could listen to paid in full. I'm surprised nwa was in the top 10 at all.
alex murphy Most N.W.A fans actually are not just from the movie, such as myself. I can proudly say that N.W.A is way better than Grandmaster Flash any day.
1: Grandmaster Flash - The Message 2: Public Enemy - Bring The Noise 3: NWA - Straight Outta Compton 4: Eazy E - Boyz N The Hood 5: Run DMC - Its Like That
Nini Koch You forget ELEVATED HIP HOP acts like PUBLIC ENEMY, DISPOSABLE HEROES, DE LA SOUL, JUNGLE BROTHERS, A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, BRAND NUBIAN, PETE ROCK & CL SMOOTH, GANG STARR (DJ Premier, Guru), ISIS, QUEEN LATIFAH, DIGABLE PLANETS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, DAS EFX, SOULS OF MISCHIEF, US3, BLACK STAR, TALIB KWELI, DEL THE FUNKY HOMOSAPIEN..
Nini Koch without Eric b and rakim, run dmc,ll cool j,grandmaster flash, young Mc there wouldn't be nwa so straight outta Compton should not be #1 after the movie all y'all niggas saying straight outta Compton should be number 1 fucking youngsters don't know rap
I'm so glad I was a preteen/teenager in the 80's and got to experience all this when it first came out. Most of these are still some of the best rap songs ever. But I'm still a major NWA fan, live me some Dre and Cube and Eazy E.
Good list Watch Mojo. For me personally , one of the thing I will always appreciate about 80's rap was the diversity of MC's , like MC Lyte , Queen latifa , and Salt and Pepa. 10. I heard that song from "Good Burger," but a good one. 9. Heard from "The 40 Year Old Virgin." 8. Never heard of this song. 7. Never heard of this song, but I probably remember his songs. 6. That song is fucking awesome. I still play that in "Guitar Hero: World Tour." 5. That song is awesome. Inspire to Spike Lee's controversy film, "Do the Right Thing." 4. This song is good. 3. This song is the shit. From GTA: San Andreas Style! 2. Never heard of it, but I will. 1. Much compare to Puff Daddy's remake song. Good old rap songs in 80's then 10's rap songs. These new songs are stupid and whack!
Bruh everyone in this comment section in just "Straight outta compton should be no. 1" like wtf y'all I agree Th Message was kinda high but Paid In Full should've been no. 1 imo... Rakim is more influential than NWA in that time
It's so true and most of these people don't even listen to people other than NWA after the movie came out and now they think their the rap all know abouts
A lot of people are commenting that the choices are shit, but what you probably fail to understand is without these artists paving the way none of the rappers you like probably wouldn't be in the genre right now. Show some respect regardless of whether you dislike it or not >_
Connor Menz You dont listened many great Hip Hop acts of that era i think: EPMD, Slick Rick, Biz Markie, Cool C, Cash Money and Marvelous, MC Lyte, Stetsasonic, Kid N Play, Digital Underground..MANY ACTS WERE MAYBE BETTER THAN NWA AND WITH POSITIVE MESSAGES
Tribe called Quest should have been on this list. World Tour or just pick a song they have classics. Fight The Power should have been number 1 that song was a movement.
Kay Brought Totally Agree. USA is so drunk with his love for guns and hoes than no appreciate like must be ELEVATED HIP HOP ART in bands like DE LA SOUL, A T C Q, GANG STARR, BEASTIE BOYS "PAUL'S BOUTIQUE" 1989 ALBUM, etc
The '80s is probably the most underrated decade for rap music. Then again, I wasn't born yet at the time, most rap songs I hear playing are from the '90s to now.
Patrick Griffin For the record, I do agree with you about specifically the late 80's to mid 90's as being the Golden Age of hip hop. I was just disagreeing with the narrator making the statement that the 80's was it. It's commonly referred as being the new school. Then you had guys like KRS-1, Rakim, Chuck D, and the Jungle Brothers bridging the late 80's to guys like Tribe Called Quest, EPMD, and Wu-Tang. It was around the late 90's when the bling era came about thus ushering the watered-down commercialization of hip hop that you see today.
Yep! You can always debate what constitutes a "golden age". But one thing about that time period that may never come back is that you had so many different types of artist and styles all getting radio play at the same time. The balance was there back then. And true creativity back then.
Just because someone is dissing a white group doesn't make it a racist comment about the group. And it doesn't mean that the person is racist. It is 100% based on opinion. Yes, I know that someone being racist towards another person is an opinion. Think of Mew's comment as... A group of people thinking that Pineapple on Pizza is gross and some others thinking that it is good. The same thing with Macaroni and cheese with Ketchup, some think it's good while other's think it's gross. It's just an opinion. Leave Mew alone and let everyone have their own opinion. Not everyone likes what you like for instance lets say you like pickles and oatmeal. Others think it's disgusting. That's fine, it's just their opinion. Like I was raised in a household with a racist mother, yet I still approve of Blacks having as much right as Whites. As Logic says, "Everybody is born and created equal, it's not based on your color, creed, or sexual orientation." You assuming that Mew doesn't like the Beastie Boys because they are White is saying him/her is a racist person. If they are, they are, just leave them be. It is reasons like this why I tend to avoid the comment section of videos.
It's stupid now. That's why it's popular. It wasn't stupid back them and amuricans were smart enough to understand the meaning of the song now all they do is worship drugs and money or that triangle bullshit.
Perfect pick for the top spot! Am surprised that Tone Loc didn't make an appearance, though. 'Wild Thing' and 'Funky Cold Medina' are both legen... ...wait for it... ...dary :D Also, Young MC's 'Principle's Office should've gotta mention just for having Flea on bass :D How about Mojo does Top 10 Hip-Hop Remixes? Would include (as it did, here) Eric B & Rakim 'Paid in Full' (Seven Minutes of Madness), as well as Beastie Boys 'Body Movin' (Fatboy Slim Remix), Wildchild 'Renegade Master (Fatboy Slim Remix), J-Lo 'I'm Real' (Murder Remix, ft. Ja Rule), KRS:1 'Sound of Da Police' (FreQ-Nasty's Breakbeat Bacon Remix), and so on.
KRS-One, Souls of Mischef, Lords of the Underground, A Tribe Called Quest. This is the thing I don't like when someone mentions 90's Hip hop. There were so many artist, but they all got overshadowed.
MChalmers15 You will not see Diddy on this list at all. That nigga can't rap for shit. It will probably be. Tupac, Biggie Nas, Rakim, Bone Thugs N' Harmony, Salt N' Pepa(again), Busta Rhymes, maybe Jay Z, maybe Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg, Eazy E I'm guessing
Laughable that Ricky D only made an honorable mention, but still nothing on the list. Either Hey Young World or The Ruler's Back are top 10 worthy easily, IMO.
Peeps saying NWA's track should be No.1 aren't aware of the significance of "The Message". they're probably some dudes who only know the surface of the 80's. ignorant to it's roots.

Indeed, NWA was a tremendously good rap group but The Message is basically the harbinger of modern rap period.
Fuck You Straight Outta Compton changed the rap game and started gangsta rap.
@@bnuno7742 Damn if you really think gangsta rap came out of nwa you dumb. They made it popular, didn't create it
The golden era, the 80's and 90's. Such an amazing time for hip hop/rap! So many classic

Dude wth is wrong with, Boyz in the hood came out before straight outta compton
Unless u mean Boyz n The Hood (g mix)
"Ain't No Half Stepping" by Big Daddy Kane and
"T.R.O.Y." by Pete Rock and CL Smooth.
"Children's Story" by Slick Rick. (but you had Slick in the HM, so we're cool)
T.R.O.Y is a 92 song (but given that it probably won't make the 90s list, you can keep the complain for tomorrow)
Nassim Tekaya Well, I am just giving them a heads up for their 90's list! ;)
Really tho
Definetly children's story
10:37 F*** Tha Police - Run-D.M.C?
Mihai5074 Wtf! didn't notice that
Lol that's an nwa song
80's rap was all like "I went to the hat store and I bought myself a hat. Haha Ha Ha"
Reply if you got the reference. :)
You forgot the laugh at the end lol :D
Chey Harper Whoops.
"Well. What'd you expect? :/

The next decade is going to be next to impossible to cut it down to just 10 songs. 90's were easily the best decade for rap.
Agreed!!! The early 2000's were shaping up to be a good decade for rap music , but IMO when 50 cent hit the scene that's when rap music started going down hill
they will just use the 10 most popular and sells on the store
Rap these days are trash, it all sounds the same...
it really is 50 cent that ruins everything, ever since In da club, we got lean back, every songs from 2 chainz, and rick ross. so thanks fifty cent of grey, you ruins everything(in popular and mainstream hip-hop on middle and end of 2000's)
Lil FrankWebbs Yes sir
Let me guess...since the nwa movie came out people are all of a sudden Hardcore fans.....😐😐😐😐
they don't know shit about the 80's and now all they're saying is they, nwa should be no.1. nigga, do you know how big is the message" to hiphop.
Jesus Orozco lol
+angel eleven I know now I feel kind of embarrassed blasting their music in my car now because everyone's thinking I'm just someone who became a fan because of the movie. I was blasting their music in high school.
Jacket keep playing it then. ☺
Dank Dank but there are people like me who are ogs and have been fans forever. NWA should be nr 1 EASILY
i may be born in 97 but trust me i would much prefer rap and hip hop from the 80s and 90s than the shit rap we have today.
Locksmith too.
21st Century Digital Boy the only decent rapper you named was kendrick, watsky is awful
Nah. Kendrick isn't even the best one I listed.
The point is: There's shitty rappers from every generation, and there's great rappers from every generation. Hip-Hop/Rap has changed a lot and varies between subgenres, kind of hard to compare WHOLE generations of Hip-Hop.
Eric B. & Rakim is made up of 1 rapper and 1 DJ. Fact check please!
did that just say fuck the police- run dmc or im tripping 😂
nah I saw that too
Yeah
it was nwa not run dmc
+Liam Robinson watch the video again they messed that up
+Liam Robinson we all know that
Good list. But what about Slick Rick's "Children's Story" & Audio Two's "Top Billin'" though?
Yaaassssss!!
How is Rappers Delight not on the list? I know it came out in 1979 but it remained a hit in the 80's.
Live band....no turntables
What rap was rabba rabba stabba?? Tony
⁰0⁰00
Also the fact that he stole from the cold crush kind of makes sugar Hill gang lose points with me

How was N.W.A not number 1??
ZoVa_Zion cuz there were better music dummy
ZoVa_Zion N.W.A. , Geto Boys, 2Live Crew were more a type of "the realization of a EVIL AGENDA FOR THE YOUNG URBAN AMERICA" ;)
Roberto Ginsburg You're Talking EVIL AGENDAS And They Have Nothing To Do With Hip Hop. Take A Look At This United States The Position Of Power The Dumb Dumb Donald. They Way This Country Was Founded They Way This Country Has Treated Minority's That's The EVIL AGENDA PARTNA
Because Paid in Full, and the Message are more important and decade defining
Honestly there were whole groups of people who didn't listen to nwa because of how degrading and vulgar it was..... everyone could listen to paid in full. I'm surprised nwa was in the top 10 at all.
Eazy E - Boyz In Da Hood
Rockbox > It's Tricky
Paul Revere >
The Breaks is top 10
You guys totally got this one right with your number one pick.
awesome video - so many memories!
N.W.A transformed rap, straight outta compton should've been #1
No. The Message deserves its place.
Just because you saw a movie it doesn't make you a fucking expert. Grandmaster Flash's "The Message" is better and its beat isn't repetitive crap.
alex murphy Most N.W.A fans actually are not just from the movie, such as myself. I can proudly say that N.W.A is way better than Grandmaster Flash any day.
+Zesk Plays THANK YOU! didn't have a keyboard when this cynic responded to me
***** All good man.
1: Grandmaster Flash - The Message
2: Public Enemy - Bring The Noise
3: NWA - Straight Outta Compton
4: Eazy E - Boyz N The Hood
5: Run DMC - Its Like That
Straight Outta Compton is on this list, The Message too
I would at least of mentioned "rapper's delight" but great list anyway!!
That classic is from the late seventies, mate.
I agree with you bro but Rappers Delight is from '79.
Released in 1979
That's what i wondered on every new song, but Rappers delight didnt hit a spot. But appearantly it is not from the 80s. ^^
It should be in the all time list
Straight Outta Compton is definitely my personal favourite. It's pretty epic.
As I leave believe I'm stomping but when I'm coming back boy I'm coming Straight Outta Compton
This video reminds me of all the MC's we lost over the years. R.I.P. Easy-E, Jam Master Jay, and MCA.
Rock the Bells was the better LL Cool J song imo
Straight outta Compton should be #1
agreed
Smh keep only watching the movie and stay out of real cultural hip hop
+Kishen Orjuela no you don't have any right to tell me what to do I probably know more about NWA than you
Nah gangsta gangsta
Nathan J that's another great song too
what bout Childerns story by slick rick and Aint half steppin by Big daddy kane
also kool g rap --> road to the riches
omni chudda Bruh I love your music lmao found you on Beast Coast

Fuck yeah one of the real 1st gangsta songs
I know the Message because of GTA San Andreas, I'm not sure if that's just me.
oh yeah thanks
That's just sad...
There is an Ice Cube Remix (Check Yo Self) of The Message in San Andreas.
straight outta Compton should be 1#. without NWA we wouldn't have Tupac, Eminem or anyone
with out ice T we wouldn't have n.w.a fucking idiot
+shady Hodge but what a fuck are you saying?
+Biskit you mean without melle mel?
But I'm still a major NWA fan, live me some Dre and Cube and Eazy E.
yo its either im tripping or they just said N.W.A was third it shouldve been #1
Ya like what the fuck Nwa has some of my favourite shit and had the best rap songs of the 80s
+Cole Simons listen to the rules, they said a mix of popularity, commercial success, production etc.
oh shit ya your right
Grandmaster flash was more influential
I reckon Public Enemy's Fight the Power should've been first, The message second and something N.W.A third
Grandmaster Flash and his song New York,New York started hip-hop/rap scene in Czechoslovakia, far behind Easter block felt. He is part of our history.
Where is children's story by slick rick?
N.W.A is the shit
10:37 Fuck Tha Police by Run-D.M.C.? You mean N.W.A. Come on WatchMojo. Get it Together.
Oh shit lol i didn't even notice that
Yup u r right
I tottly noticed that lol!!
Grandmaster Flash changes everything :)
Thank you so much for making this song WM, honestly if you read this god bless your soul for making this video!
Watch mojo man I can watch all day keep the good stuff coming
Tommorows list is just gonne be Dr, Dre, Nas, Biggie and 2pac
Damn right
And Eminem
Emundem is from the 2000
I bet one of tupacs songs will get the top spot. One of Eminems songs will get the top spot of the 2000s.
what about wu-tang, ONE MUST NOT FORGET WU-TANG
Thats some good rap music... Today we have songs that mainly consist of "My Nigga, My Nigga, My Nigga is My Nigga"...
MrVonSchiller And that Crap beguns with...the adorated NWA .
MrVonSchiller Dont forget Eminem
Thank you Mojo for finally giving Eric B and Rakim the credit they deserve. #Legends
This list is 100% correct
Although Straight Outta Compton is one of the most influential rap songs of all time, I do feel that "The Message" deserves it's #1 spot
Good list Watch Mojo. For me personally , one of the thing I will always appreciate about 80's rap was the diversity of MC's , like MC Lyte , Queen latifa , and Salt and Pepa. IMO because of the emergence of gansta rap in the early 90's , the game shifted from having a good time dancing to proving one's masculinity.
Yeah
Tupac and Biggie will probably rule the 90's video.
Correct, Em will probably rule the 2000's list
marotaku25 Eminem will still make the list :P Recovery
Nope, you can't forget Nas, Ice Cube, Dre, Eazy E, Eminem.... plenty of guys. Biggie and Pac will take 1 slot each...
Nah, man it'll be nas and his illmatic songs
And mobb deep snoop dogg, dr dre, AZ, Big L, Big Pun
Haha in that clip for The Show, they didn't even play The Show, damn.
As the list count down I was hoping 'The Message' wouldn't be left off, glad you guys got it right
Yoooooo... Planet rock... That's a throwback 😂 😂 😂 loveit 😉 👏 👏 👏
Amazing list... Can't agree more
Eric B and Rakim - 2 of the best rappers ever.....??? Eric never ever said a word ...altho Ra was good enough for 2 lol...
AND !!!! No Krs 1 BDP ??? in a top 10 of 80's rap ???? who makes these things ?? you need more than wikipedia to do your research y'know....
"fuck tha Police - Run D.M.C" i can't breath rn 😂😂😂
like
when??
it's nwa
Are you guys gonna do the 2010s?
Well you're gonna have to wait about 5 and a half years because it's only 2014...
No it's not over yet
True. They could just have a (so far) in the title lol
If you like rap music from 2010+ you must have a horrible taste of music
kalvin yu Not true at all buddy.
Good shit Mojo :)
Number 1, I can respect that fully. But I have a problem with the other songs that I like and the honorable mentions.
When rap was good...
Good just good. Ok
We get it. You watched Straight Outta Compton. And no the song does not need to be #1 for every list.
+whataclassyhobo it shoulda been aint no half steppin or childrens story
+Kieran Cusack Nope. the message.
+Jesus Orozco no half stepping was one of the best rap songs ever
Yes it does
Kieran Cusack yea but the message deserves it spot. no doubt, No half seppin is a joint tho
NWA changed the rapgame big time
Before I even clicked on this video, I thought The Message better be at the top. Very pleased with this :)
At 10:37 F*** tha Police is subtitled as being Run-DMC. Oops!
I believe the #1 song from the 80's is Public Enemy's REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE !!!
why censor a Rap list? LOL
it is Doug E. Fresh-Keep Rising To The Top you're showing us; It isn't "the show"
the accuracy 🙏😤
Planet Rock was released well before 1986. We were dancing to it in clubs in early '82
N.W.A-Gangsta Gangsta
Wow, i didnt know a single song from this list
That's sad
You are an idiot then
that's really sad
You must be under 40
Well im 18 and not from U.S so yea
IT'S FUNKY ENOUGH!!! By the DOC come on
Yes!
Nah... its a earcatching song. but it has little to no significance in Hiphop.
SGS XIV You Must Not Know His Work To Say That
Love this stuff, some great classics. Thanks watchmojo:)
Those raps are better than what we have right now anyways.

2. Never heard of it, but I will.
1. Much compare to Puff Daddy's remake song.
Good old rap songs in 80's then 10's rap songs. These new songs are stupid and whack!
10 wansnt in good burger. The song it samples is. That song is not just knee deep
Wait how have you heard number 2?
+WatchMojo.com do top 10 ice cube songs
Bruh everyone in this comment section in just "Straight outta compton should be no. 1" like wtf y'all I agree Th Message was kinda high but Paid In Full should've been no. 1 imo... Rakim is more influential than NWA in that time
Y'all just bandwagonin after the movie
+iCourtZ my favorite N.W.A song is either express yourself or gangsta gangsta actually
+messiah franklin ye my fav is gangsta gangsta or appetite for destruction
It's so true and most of these people don't even listen to people other than NWA after the movie came out and now they think their the rap all know abouts
Great job watchmojo truly a great list
You guys put Paid in Full on the list?
I love you, WM.
push it didnt peak at #1 on the billboard hot 100 it peaked 19
Yo yoyoyoyoyoyo, rippidy rap rappidy rapiddy raptasitc!
Ain't that a Birbiglia bit?
Styles Bitchley Yep!
N.W.A All the way!
iG L3GiT A TRIBE CALLED QUEST 😉
11:20 "this duo is composed by two of the best rappers..." Why do I even click on this shit?
A lot of people are commenting that the choices are shit, but what you probably fail to understand is without these artists paving the way none of the rappers you like probably wouldn't be in the genre right now. Show some respect regardless of whether you dislike it or not >_
How was Fight the Power not number one
gotta agree with you there
Cuz its a dumb song.
Straight Outta Compton should've been #1 hands down.
Only thing they were 90's they'll be on that on
I am surprised that "West Coast Poplock" by Ronnie Hudson and the Street People wasn't mentioned, as its lyrics were used in "California Love."
The '80s is probably the most underrated decade for rap music. Then again, I wasn't born yet at the time, most rap songs I hear playing are from the '90s to now.
I'm sorry, but the Golden Era of hip-hop was the 90's.....
No it wasn't it was from the late 80's- early to mid 90's. That's it.
True, true.
This Chanel also has a list for the 90s
Patrick Griffin
For the record, I do agree with you about specifically the late 80's to mid 90's as being the Golden Age of hip hop.
Am i the only person who doesn't like beastie boys?
No. It's not rap. It's bullshit rock music.
JuicePouch WhT cuz they white ?
No
JuicePouch please listen to Pauls Boutique
Penn and Teller @ 9:06 :D:D
Afrika Bambata+Grandmaster Flash=Pure Gold
Good list, the 1980's rap/hip hop music was dope.
What about boyz in the hood
woolymammoths Nop. "I Know You Got Soul" in that case
Everybody's saying straight outta Compton should be 1 just because they watched the movie lmao.
back when rap was good todays rap sucks.
Not all rap, just the heavily auto-tuned pop ones. You have to dig a little deeper and find the good stuff... :)
Listen to some underground
Underground is the shit, u should listen to a rapper named immortal technique. He will literally blow your mind
It's stupid now. That's why it's popular. It wasn't stupid back them and amuricans were smart enough to understand the meaning of the song now all they do is worship drugs and money or that triangle bullshit.
You always did know best Big Boss
Perfect pick for the top spot!
Am surprised that Tone Loc didn't make an appearance, though. 'Wild Thing' and 'Funky Cold Medina' are both legen...
...wait for it...
...dary :D
Also, Young MC's 'Principle's Office should've gotta mention just for having Flea on bass :D
How about Mojo does Top 10 Hip-Hop Remixes?
Would include (as it did, here) Eric B & Rakim 'Paid in Full' (Seven Minutes of Madness), as well as Beastie Boys 'Body Movin' (Fatboy Slim Remix), Wildchild 'Renegade Master (Fatboy Slim Remix), J-Lo 'I'm Real' (Murder Remix, ft. Ja Rule), KRS:1 'Sound of Da Police' (FreQ-Nasty's Breakbeat Bacon Remix), and so on.
I'm going to predict that the top 10 rap songs of the 1990's will thoroughly piss the internet off.
what about "boyz in da hood" by Eazy E??!!!!!!!!!
אייל טננבאום GANGSTER and Real Hip Hop are 2 Different things, period.
Eminem, biggie small sand tupac will be all over tomorrow's list
And Eazy, don't forget him!
Eminem was way better in the 00's though. Tomorrow you'll see Snoop, Nas, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Diddy, Dre
And nas
Laughable that Ricky D only made an honorable mention, but still nothing on the list. Either Hey Young World or The Ruler's Back are top 10 worthy easily, IMO.
Agreed. What about children's story?
Then again he did get 2 honourable mentions (the show and hey young world) so that's got to be worth at least the 8th spot on the list
remy steel Children's Story too, but I personally always felt that Ruler's Back or Hey Young World were even better.
That'll be me your talking about. *****
sooooooooooo what!
Great list! I loved so many I can't pick just one!
Good list, I look forward to the 90's one
