    Excellent as always Leslie. Some interesting network rail bogie bolsters on the first engineering train heading to Tyne SS. Don't recall ever seeing those wagons before. Cheers Euan

      Thanks Euan. Thats a rail laying set - don't know the technical name. The thingy with two 'legs' moves back and forth the length of its wagon pulling the lengths of welded rail from the front wagons and they are somehow aligned with the sleepers. Only seen it happening from a distance.

    I do like seeing a freight that has the new Wascosa wagons, and the last one was a good catch, nice one Leslie.

      Thanks Tim. They do look good especially the ones that can be adapted for different purposes.

    Another great video. Loved the Avanti. I live near South Bend, Indiana and there was a car company named Studebaker that made a car called the Avanti. Much like the train it was very sleek. Thanks for sharing.

    That is weary looking track especially to the South of the station. In the past it would have barely
    been seen fit for sidings.

      I suspect even Network Rail people responsible would agree. It was planned to be replaced around 15 years ago and now NR are being forced to make further budget cuts. They may have hoped for HS2 money but I doubt that will be coming.

    Les, what do the blue and green colour panels on that ScotRail 156 indicate? I suppose there is reason to suspect the crew of that TPE set, but having served as a maintainance an repair engineer in my work, I do know that faults can 'just disappear'. It is frustrating. but it happens. The customer would tell me '… but it wasn't working when we called you…'. In the report, that goes down as 'NFF - no fault found'. Sometimes we got a 2nd chance when it was re-reported weeks later.
    That was atrocious weather - Mother Nature in full cry! Was this shot before or after your trip to Appleby which I have just watched? I don't think it would be very comfortable on the footplate of a steam special in that weather.

    • @LeslieGilpinRailways
      @LeslieGilpinRailways  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Appleby was the day after but quicker to edit. The stickers on the ScotRail unit indicate wheelchair access and cycle storage. I featured that in a video in the previous week or so.

    It's not surprising the T.O.Cs are not making a profit. There constantly having the pay compensation for cancellations and late running.

      If it's their own fault it's annoying but at the end of the day the dft pays them.

    Not too many long shots. This is free so stop complaining. Keep up the fabulous work Les

      @LeslieGilpinRailways  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as many as I could have made - the Tesco was almost omitted and if I don't edit that sequence it takes a few minutes! You nearly had the logs too but I messed up that one.

      I think they are something of a Curates Egg - good in parts. Certainly more comfortable than some modern trains I can think of. I suspect the problem really lies in the financiers (Eversholt Rail Group) allowing such a slack contract that allows so many issues.

  • @timothyweston-e6t
    @timothyweston-e6t ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi you tend too much on different shots of passing trains like the log train first view then middle and then long shot leaving ,too many long shots that we see so much leaving up the incline,I like to count waggons but that's impossible on your videos

    • @LeslieGilpinRailways
      @LeslieGilpinRailways  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you watch my videos I try to balance between pleasing general viewers who prefer the edited version, but see beginning and end of the trains, and the enthusiasts who might want the full trains. The Tesco for instance takes several minutes to pass through the station as do the Logs and Intermodals by which time my hands are aching! If I didn't edit these down it would make for a very long boring programme. So some videos will show full trains and others edited down clips. Similarly some videos show lots of Northern and ScotRail trains and others mostly freight.
