    I love the new house!
    For the fireplace: I think you should just keep the tiles, but elevate it by painting the grouting a bright white or a charcoal/darker grey.
    Also, I was so surprised that Mia will live in the basement, but I’m happy to see it is very spacious and it has big windows and natural light.

    I CANNOT help but to laugh when she try’s to say garage 😂 it’s just hilarious and cute at the same time! My aunt teaches English classes and she said it hurts her soul when Mia try to say “garage” and yes everyone has different accents but she said she has worked with plenty of Canadians and has never heard someone say it like that but I think it’s cute 🥰💜 and definitely unique!

      i mean as an ENGLISH person you both pronounce garage ‘wrong’. whenever i hear an american pronounce ENGLISH words wrong i don’t complain about it. americans really don’t have the right to try and correct other people on the pronunciation of english words considering it isn’t your language.

    • @nomiedezdez9256
      @nomiedezdez9256 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s odd that it would ‘hurt her soul’ when she’s saying the word correctly, just with her accent. I mean have you ever heard an Irish person say garage? It sounds totally wrong to an American or even British accent but it’s still the correct pronunciation- it’s just with an Irish accent.
      The same language can be spoken drastically differently based on the origin of the speaker- it’s just another variety but the same language. Sure it can be hard to adjust to new ways of saying things that you aren’t used to- but to say she’s “trying” to say garage when she is, in fact, saying it totally fine as English is her first and only language is really odd

    Mia, that fireplace is amaaazing! It gives the room something special. Without it, it would be just a box. That big chimney will keep the whole house so cosy in winter as the stones absorb the heat so the upstairs will also benefit

      th-cam.com/video/S8R-RrjXhx4/w-d-xo.html

    5:47 Leave the fireplace alone, Mia. Repaint the walls to make the fireplace pop. Getting paint off the stone is such a pain. Elevated doesn't necessarily mean white and sparse. Add a mantle and an ornamental screen, see how you feel about it. Tiling the fire box surround might change your outlook, too.

  • @frappiera

    Congrats on your new house! I would try to keep that large room they had as an art room as the only "filming room". You could probably have four different set ups in there. And then you could turn that other area into the office area. I think it would be nice to have the first floor as your actual house set up. A house with a couple studio rooms vs a studio you live in. Plus you could always film in other rooms if you need a change of scene but they wouldn't have to be rigged for production 🤷🏽‍♀️

    The house is beautiful! I love the fireplace in the basement is beautiful, and it could be pretty with candles. I am excited for the renovations! The space next to the kitchen could be a dining space and family room. The main area you see could be a cozy reading space/movie room. I think the upstairs fireplace could be beautiful if you painted the fireplace a solid color. Easy and beautiful without a massive structural project. It is my dream to find a home with a fireplace in the main area and basement. Maybe you could make your bathroom to have a peach sink and shower. I hope you have a great week!

    I really think you shouldn't split this house up by level. The blue room would be a lovely personal office space, but the master bedroom and main kitchen/dining area would be perfect for living in! Keep the huge room upstairs as the main studio, the "office" as a meeting room (since you can hear people at the door) and convert the basement living area into the gaming area. The remaining rooms can be the guest bedroom and an additional kitchen space. If you wanted, you could make the downstairs kitchen into a "snack bar"
    Just my thoughts, but what you described in the video made me think the space was being wasted a little :/

      Also her spot for gaming is a small nook, there’s no way she needs that entire basement living room as a gaming area. That sounds more like a waste of space to me.

    Maybe you should put a medium sized table in the basement kitchen with some swinging chairs hanging from the ceiling around it. Looks like you have the space. Or something fun like a picnic table

    Pls paint the fireplace white as the back ground and then paint each stone a different color, that would be such a beautiful centerpiece

  • @kristingage6620
    @kristingage6620 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Paint the fireplace a matte black! That room gets so much light it wouldn’t feel dark.

    If you paint the living room walls the fireplace rock will feel totally different. Don’t remove the stone. It’s great!!

    A build in desk/bookshelf would look nice next to the fireplace. White wash the fire place! Don't stake the stone down! Can't wait to see the room makeovers!

    I see nothing wrong with almost this entire house. I would literally leave most of it the way it is. 😅 each time she says ‘once i paint this’ or ‘destroy this area’ i cringe 😭 but I’m still excited to see what she envisions. 👏🏻♥️

    Guess I'm gonna have to live in Canada. This house literally has all the things I would love in a house. Especially the basement!! Im so proud of you! I think I saw a house with this same layout on Property Brothers or love it or list it. I would keep the brick but paint it with modern recessed lighting on top. All the ideas!!! Will def keep up with this one 🥰🥰🥰

    You should make the basement kitchen a kitchen/living room open space, so you could have a couch and a TV in the big square of empty floor on the opposite side of all the kitchen appliances

  • @florinaskenderi3199

    Keep the heavy cabinet in the filming room as a desk with the open side towards you so you have storage. Paint it or whatever🥰

    This house is absolutely amazing. 1 thing that really stuck out to me is the flooring in the downstairs kitchen space. Maybe find a flooring that you can using in the whole room instead of have that separation in that area because it is still one room. Ya know?
