Good morning Mr. Cronin. Thank you very much for your words. I want to say once again that I am learning a lot from you. You have ability of communication and show your art in the simplest way. You have no secrets for anyone, you really are a great teacher. I will always keep watching your wonderful videos. Congratulations and happiness to your life.
Since I´ve discovered your incredible videos, you became immediately my teacher. You show the art of painting watercolor, like nobody else. Thank you for the simple but educational way, as you´re sharing with us, all your talent and knowledge about this wonderful art.
Can't begin to tell you how much I love this painting, Steven! Your riverscapes are amazing...so tranquil... Thank you for the demo, as always! Cheers!
Small dark trees which are an interesting demo with corner of brush. Nice dark color in the sky and a pink one which brings a lot of beauty. A big tree on right hand side with a variety of dark colors which match together. On the other side a huge tiny tree with lovely small leaves. The sky reflects its colors on the river. The land on left hand side makes a contrast with the lovely pale color of the river. On the right side there are small rocks that bring beauty to this beautiful painting. Thank you so much Steven for being always there for us with your teachings and demos.
Great painting. Like the colors and the perception of the river turning. I'm starting to grasp the significance of the hair dryer. Thank you for your videos. People already bidding on this fine painting which goes on sale Feb. 8th. ( Birds )
More great work, as you know i am a fan of your work and try to copy your style, could you do a tutorial of do,s and dont,s would help us understand better if you know what i mean, ie like dryness , overpainting, how you get your scale, things you know that we dont, cheers derek keep them coming
Glad you surgessted it Derek, thanks! Steve I am having trouble with how much water to use....? I am also trying to do a colour chart of mixing the colours together, but again it's how much water, can I ask you to do just a short tutorial for chart colours, say mixing ultaramarine blue, with a few other colours, it would be so helpful to see just how much water to use. I have done this in acrylic's is easy, but the water colour is anothe story....? I know it's a lot to ask but you are on the top of my list to watch, and I've watched quite a few or yours, when I see you doing it I think that looks easy, not as easy as it looks! Thanks a gain Steve for all you do to bringallow us to see your video's! Awesome work!!!!!!!
PJ D I'll see what I can do but in the meantime the best thing you can do is experiment on scrap pieces of paper mixing different colours with different ratios of paint and water. Less water will result in stronger and more vibrant colours. There are a million and one variations so get experimenting! Thanks for watching the videos and best of luck.
I bought a large Ron ranson hake brush but I can't get it to hold a 'knife edge' like you can. I tried dipping the tip in water but that doesn't work very well. Do I need to 'wear it out' a bit before it will behave?
if anything the chisel Edge is easiest when it's brand new. The key is to have just enough water to hold the hairs together. It takes a bit of practice but you will get there. Very best of luck
Mimi edouard the brush is a large Ron Ranson hake. I bought mine on ebay. There's another one for sale here www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ron-Ranson-Large-Hake-Brush-/201190353128?pt=UK_Crafts_DrawingSupplies_EH&hash=item2ed7e128e8
