I’m so sorry that those things were said to discredit you, Laramie. We are also living on my husbands income exclusively while I am home with the kids. He brings home a bit more than your husband, but not enough for us to choose a different lifestyle from yours! We are proud members of the ultra-tight budget club and wouldn’t have it any other way. God Bless you, sister. ♥️
Love the “proud members of the ultra-tight budget club!” Count me in. We are a debt and mortgage-free couple now living on retirement income. Low income doesn’t have to mean low joy!
I live off my retirement also. All my bills have increased I'm debt free but have utilities and insurance. I started canning again 3 years ago and I've always had a garden. I started raising chickens. I have not went into a sit down restaurant in over 5 years...no tv ...i have not done any major grocery shopping since March 2023...i wouldn't change anything.
I'm learning to be part of the ultra tight budget club. I'm a not credit club member but we still cat get ahead and our needs grow as disability and age begins to ravish our family. We do garden but I'm learning how to make it more fruitful and M learning to can and process whole food better while being low carbohydrate to help support our diabetes without needing medication. Blessings to all.
Im 34. At uni, unmarried, childless, single. I have struggled with money almost all my life but my family is better off nowadays. I really want to live frugally, and save money to give to charity. Id like to cook at home instead of buy from expensive restaurants. Im from pakistan. Your impact is great, you are being heard across the globe. God bless.
Unfortunately, there are people in the US who have suffered with the lack of food. My mother used to go without meals so the 5 of us could eat. I was blessed with wonderful grandparents who helped. I find I have more wonderful memories during those times. I am so grateful for those memories.
I’m now in my 67th year. I was the eldest of four children. My mother always kept the basic foodstuffs in the cupboard so when money was very tight, she would make us pancakes for our supper with lemon and sugar. We always thought she was giving us a treat, we only found out years later that it was because she had nothing else to give us that day. We had free school dinners which back then were proper meat and veg meals, so we all grew up healthy and strong. My Mums pea and ham soup was the best! Even my husband loved it although he refused to eat soup, stews and casseroles normally. We grew up being taught to cook by our mother, who was an excellent cook and loved to try new recipes, so I knew how to feed my own family on a very low income. It’s very sad that most young folks today don’t know how to cook or ‘make something out of nothing’ as we called it. When my children were young, and we had no food in the house, I made naan bread with black onion seeds and a curry sauce for our evening meal. My family loved it and never felt deprived. The real problem nowadays is that most mothers are forced to go out to work and are simply too exhausted to come home and cook from scratch. I find it very sad.
I agree that many dont know how to cook. There are also a lot of grown adults who cannot cook either, even into 40s and 50s. In my part of canada, schools hold parents responsible to feed their kids. It sounds harsh in many places but it is the responsibility of the parents. The school has zero obligation to feed students. Any school which had a cafeteria (which was very very new when I was growing up as I was 14 when i first saw a miniature version, we only every saw it on tv; so nobody really questioned... it was actually a very odd experience to potentially have meals made by the school). Cafeteria's or food programs were a privilege. No school was allowed to serve food unless it was to teach students to cook. I am not referencing home economics, I mean a full commercial kitchen. Only 2 schools in my city had it. With 1 school that did have it for low income areas and yes it was a class for the low income as equally as those families who are well off. Both low income and well off were treated the same by the school system. The reason behind it was although many parents did teach their kids to cook. It was a privilege because its costly to have a cafeteria for one. Also it taught parents and students alike to take it seriously and appreciate it. It was a basic skill a parent could teach, but the school took it on and brought licensed chefs. We dont have lunch ladies. Students in the foods program, we were like the nerds of the school. Yet it taught us how to be responsible and follow instruction. We appreciated food at the school more because of it. It wasn't free, you still bought it. My teach said the school board took it so seriously that if not enough students signed up, it would be closed. It honestly was a great experience and in a city where cafeterias were a very new thing. We learned to appreciate it. Only some parts of canada will have a program for low income breakfasts but you need to meet criteria.
Yep. Now 85, and 5 kids....who now are Healthy adults. I had to stay home, cooking cleaning advising taxi-service, etc. This was a FULL day's work, starting at 5:30 a.m., and women were NOT done 'at sundown' like males were entitled to and expected. In the '50s-'60s, we women in the workplace were frowned on.
I worked full time as a nurse when my two children were growing up. it is incorrect to assume that working mothers can't prepare healthy, from-scratch, frugal meals. It just takes planning. I was proud to provide homemade meals for my family while working. My family always knew they could find something I had made in the refrigerator if I was working.
Hey sweetie-I love the sound of your voice it’s so soothing-after I watch you Laramie- I go straight to sleep- I don’t have a long time to live- I’m only 57 - I love how humble you are sister- could you please pray for me and others to pray for my healing- you cook the way I cooked for my three sons- I’ve been cooking since I was 9 years old and I didn’t cook anything from a box or can- I’m from Louisiana- we ate everything out of the garden and my daddy hunted meat for us and also fished and caught frog legs for us so I definitely can stretch anything possible-love you sister for being so real love Kelly ❤
First, Happy Anniversary. Second , I applaud you not showing your children, and finally, even though you don't show your children's identity, I love seeing the occasional baby foot, toddler, etc. Well done!
I hate when I can't watch your channel immediately. I've been very ill since Sunday. I'm a little better today. It has postponed our Christmas, however. My husband has done all the last-minute gift shopping. It's so relaxing to watch your videos. Thank you for showing the joy of your life and sharing it with us! Take care, Linda 🦋
I’ve lived in the USA my entire life and I’ve been homeless, hungry all while having a two year old daughter. It was so hard but we managed to pull ourselves out of that situation.
Absolutely! Instead of who suffers the most contest , sharing skills learnt along the way is much more productive in helping eachother. You're doing a fine job !
Spices are an "everyday luxury" that can make simple foods sing. Finding a new-to-me spice is like finding a great new composer or a wonderful author--it's life-enriching.
It’s Christmas Day here in Australia and I’ve spent the day alone. I just came across your channel and it just brought me so much peace and joy listening to you talk about the issues we all face around the world, whether the same or different. I’ve been in a very dark place for nearly a year but just hearing your calm soothing voice has lessened my anxiety. Thank you so much for this today 🥰❤️🎄🇦🇺
As a fellow Aussie who has also had the roughest of years, I wish you peace and positivity in the coming months. Happy New Years internet stranger, may your 2024 bring more ups than downs ❤🎄
@@buthow708 Thank you for your kind words. I hope very much that that will happen. I wish you also a much better 2024 and a time where happiness is a the forefront 🥰
Good job teaching young moms like you. I am a grandma and have always cooked most meals from scratch. Debt free living is very hard, but worth it. Keep on keeping on😊
I enjoyed your video so much today. We raised 5 kids on one income, and I know what it's like to stretch your last 10 bucks. What is so interesting about your videos are your words of wisdom, the peacefulness of your voice, and the calming music in the background. You don't need sophisticated video equipment or lighting. It's perfect. Thank you for inspiring both young and old.
I am an older single Mom raising my special needs daughter and I love your videos so much. You are very wise and a wonderful Christian Mom. No one can walk in your shoes and most will not have a true understanding of the life you live. You still inspire me and remind me of some of the basic cooking skills I havent tried. You are a wonderful young lady who cherishes her family and thanks for sharing your life in your videos.
I'm not surprised your channel is growing quickly. It's refreshing to find a young family which is dedicated to living within its means and stands by that philosophy in really practical ways. You may sometimes need broad shoulders and deaf ears, because others are often judgemental for no good reason, but there's no one way of living life, and we have our own journeys through life to complete and that means all the good bits and any bad bits that come from time to time. I find it relaxing to watch you absorbed in cooking and turning out delicious meals on a budget, and trust me, your children will benefit in so many ways from having their loving mom around in their formative years to guide and help them. Blessings to you all.
Oh my your so right. When I became a single mom. I worked seasonally so I could be home as much as possible. I got lucky a family member was unable to work and looked after them when that were young. I worked evenings so I would make supper then after go to work. So glad I made the choice to tuff it out with as little work as possible so I was there. No drugs no booze no stupid teen boy BS. Both in uni. Great humans I did well.
The meals you make are impressively different and imaginative. The amount of care you put into your cooking speaks loudly of your love of your whole family. I love your channel. Thank you for being here.
For folks who are struggling with the ridiculous cost of onions. You can plant a couple of the "teeny weeny" onions (yes even the 'rotting' ones) from a regular bag and snip the greens every few weeks to provide a lot of flavor instead of having to buy bags of onions every couple of weeks, that's what I do to keep costs down. Heck you can even plant them in large yoghurt pots or something of a similar size. The green leafy "sprouts" have a whole bunch of flavor!
I garden with my sister. One of the things we grow is chives. These lovely little plants grow and multiply each year. We chop and freeze or dehydrate them for winter use. A few years ago, we were overrun with chives. We gave them to her neighbours and pretty soon they were saying, "no,no, I don't need any more chives, look, they're in my garden, growing beautifully." One woman put them in her flower garden, because she liked the pretty purple flowers! Did you know that you can take clean, dry onion skins and grind them onto onion powder? The same goes for garlic skins. If you have e a vegetable garden, you can take clean pairings of things like carrots as well as herbs like parsm Basil, rosemary - basically anything you like, dehydrate them, grind them, and add them so some of your homemade onion and garlic powder, and blend them to a fine powder. Mix with a little salt and pepper, and you have your own, nearly free all-purpose seasoning! I hope this helps.
Just a thought, what we had in the depression and it is really good. Boil potatoes, once they are cooked, peel and slice them. Now making a roux. Butter, beef cubs, flour, add water until it is not to thick, add the sliced potatos, mix well. Add salt and pepper for taste and white vinegar. We called it potato stew, you can add sausage, ham or what ever you like. I love your story and the way you cook for your family.
I am grateful for you. I am a single mother with three children. I do make a decent salary and I am debt free however, my budget is tight. You have helped me feed my family delicious meals that I can afford. Thank you.
You deserve every single good thing that comes. You’re humble, sweet, kind, and so beautiful. I could listen to you talk all day! And I have subscribed so I can try that! I’m 72 years old and I’m inspired by you. You’re so wise beyond your years.
Suffering isn’t a competition, it’s an opportunity to become more Christ like….whether the suffering is yours or somebody else’s. Keep up your kind and patient heart, it most certainly pleases the Lord🙌🙌
You are a lovely mom and wife. I am older and enjoy watching and listening to you. I am flooded with memories. You're doing a great job. Thank you for sharing your life with us. God bless. When raising our children we homeschooled and it was the best choice we ever made.
Been watching your videos and you, dearie, have what I call “gumption!” Thirteen years ago I got my “head screwed on straight,” and am trying to make up for lost time. Cooking skills are serving my family well. It’s amazing how made from scratch, fresh food tastes so good and is so healthy! I’m proud to say that my 18 year old son (graduates HS this spring) enjoys cooking with me. He even gave out Christmas Yummies to friends at school that he made himself. ❤ Edited to add: I just now subscribed. 😊 Excellent job, Missy!
I've found that if you're honestly trying and being respectful of traditions and people, the laughter you hear is that of delight--delight that you've tried, delight that you're learning, and delight that you are honoring folks. Keep going, sweet one! It's a calling and an honor and you're doing it the best that you can!
Oh I had to put on the closed caption to see if I heard you right. I am Lebanese (in MD) and it is some of the best food in the world. Try hummus and make your own salad dressing (2 lemons, olive oil, crushed garlic and salt). You will never use a bottled dressing again! Everything looks delicious.
I greatly admire hard working people. I was living the same life 40 years ago. My special needs child excelled with a stay at home mom. I do not regret one day of “making do”. My children began their families the same , seems they were comfortable with raising their children as they had been raised. I am now retired and living a comfortable lifestyle, warm dry and never in lack of food.
My goodness that dinner looks delicious. This was so relaxing to listen to. There is something called absolute poverty. Those living on less than say $2 a day are in absolute poverty. But there is relative poverty - poor relative to your peers. And there are other forms of poverty that come from social exclusion. All forms of poverty hurt. And there is always something to be grateful for. I would love the recipe for that rub. Have a wonderful rest of your day. 💖
Your video was recommened to me, just by hearing your voice you earned and an instant Subscriber! While I'm 30, unmarried and childless! I really appreciate you teaching some of us like myself how to make a delicious meal! Merry Christmas and Happu Holidays!
Happy anniversary, Laramie! Congrats on the 10K subscriber count! We need more of the calm and kind approach to homemaking you demonstrate for us. Even us seasoned homemakers benefit by your content. Thank you!
A cheap meal my family has been enjoying a lot lately is Zuppa Toscana. I brown onion and italian sausage in a big pot, then add chicken broth and potatoes. When the potatoes are done, add kale and milk and turn off the heat. I also like to add fresh garlic, red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese, and serve with crusty sourdough bread, but you don’t have to. I’ve also made it with ham and hamburger instead of sausage, you can add bacon, I’ve made it with collards instead of kale.
LOL I just made this but I use my crockpot. I use my crockpot so much in the winter! I even use it to make spaghetti. I put raw hamburger in with four cups of beef broth pasta sauce seasoning and add the pasta a bit later. I also add veggies like onions and peppers it just depends on what I have on hand. I like being able to dump and go. Another cheap yummy one is Dominican beans and rice. main ingredients are cilantro, pinto beans, and rice . I make the beans in the slow cooker and the rice in the rice cooker. My time is free to do other things! You can google how to make almost anything in the crockpot it seems!
Dear lady, I will indeed laugh at you, but only when I am perfect. I am 70 years old, I have been cooking for myself for fifty plus years in good times and bad. From slow roast garlic beef with roast potatoes and seasonal veg, to sling what you have in a pan and make a soup. And I am still learning and still finding new things, and I am nowhere near perfection, maybe when I get to 100 I will be close, but the more i learn the more there is to learn, so welcome to the journey you have started, keep learning, keep sharing and you will be amazed the pleasure it will bring.
I just joined your family a couple days ago and I so wish when I was young I had the ability to go through life like you do, is it hard, I’m certain it is, but your wisdom is so great, I see the love you have, and we are known by our fruits. I wish you were my neighbor
I got a kick out of it during covid when fast food and convenience food wasn't readily available. I was shocked by the amount of people begging for help on Facebook asking how to bake a loaf of bread or make homemade mac and cheese or pizza crust. 😢majority of people do not know how to cook if it doesn't involve removing package or popping it in airfryer or microwave
Hello from another WV mountaineer! Love your channel. Learning from Dave Ramsey allowed me to retire early from my nursing career. God knew I would need to be home to care for my elder family members. My mom has Parkinson's and mother in law has serious walking issues. Love serving my family, living my dream life on my small farm while gardening, dairy goats and chickens for eggs and the freezer. I rejoice in channels like yours that share my lifestyle and faith!
Laramie, you showed up today on my You Tube feed and I have been binge watching you. I am 70 years old and as a single young mother of two, I worked my booty off to provide for them. I definitely know how to stretch a dollar. I have been raising my 32 year old special needs granddaughter most of her life and I still take precautions to make sure we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. I admire you and your husband for knowing that God and family are what is truly important! I do wish I could tell what ingredients you are using, but because you don’t tell us, although I do make homemade naan, most of the time!🤣❤
My grandma used to cook beef soup with lots of beef bones and lots of veggies and reserve the meat for dinner and for dinner time we have a different dish with the meat she reserved from lunch and we didn't have a refrigerator. My grandma was wise beyond her generation, she was born at the end of 1800 and went to a lot of hardship and she never complained I admire her generación and my mother generación this were very strong women
I just found your page, you are such a wonderful wife and mother. I was a young Momma a very long time ago, now retired and married 45 years. Cooking delicious meals is what I've learned all through the years. My children are grown with families of their own, I love being a Yaya. I'm going to try your squash soup, looks delish. I make what we've always called (sick soup). It's actually a zucchini and potato soup. It has roasted garlic, onion, potato. I use stock, and put olive oil while cooking, takes longer to peel the taters and zucchini than to cook it. Anytime someone got sick, they always wants sick soup. My daughter is 41, she still LOVES this soup, she's had some surgeries, and I've always brought her sick soup. I also put freshly grated Romano cheese. I look forward to more of your videos. My husband is very sick with cancer, I'm making a big pot of this soup tomorrow. I keep him fed with healthy meals. God bless you sweetheart, Happy New Year!
What makes your videos better than most is you don't rattle off ingredient measurements, you show us how you make your old school, from-scratch, good ol' down home cookin' while you tell us a story. Wonderful job, and I hope you go far with this opportunity you've found for yourself. Good luck with everything, and thank you! ❤
Kudos to you for making the choice to stay home for your family. I too made that choice many years ago and it was the right choice for our family . Staying home is much more difficult than any full time job outside the home- I’ve done both- I love your channel. Well done.
Laramie, so happy that I found your channel ❤ your story is so relatable. No one has the right to judge or criticize another person's circumstances, especially in the cost of living crisis so many different people in all countries are facing today. It reminds me of that saying that you can't judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes - many of us could do well to remember that. Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤❤ much love from Australia 🦘🦘
I am in my 60’s but I enjoy your videos so much. Your voice is so calming. Do you have time for any crafting? I crochet rag rugs and use them all over my house. We are retired and live in our little 900 sq ft cabin on the lake by choice. All our friends live in big two story homes. It just doesn’t appeal to us. We prefer to live simple. Blessings to you and your family.
I love your channel - and how you are exposing your babies to different foods. Despite the harsh comments - please keep doing what you do. I make a good living and my family is far from needing anything. But I follow you for wholesome simple foods. You are providing such a service to so many. I hope that people do learn empathy and compassion for others. In the meantime, love your video today. Im Indian btw ❤❤
Do you know how much joy I get watching your videos? your voice, the simple yet delicious cooking, the music... I have never met you but you sound like the warmest, coziest person to be around! your children must have a beautiful childhood and a really cozy high vibration home!
I love that you mentioned not eating leftovers the same as the original meal. One night, i made ham and beans. They next day, i changed it into soup with kale and carrot.
I am old enough to be your grandma, just so you have the age perspective. My family would have split pea soup only once a year, on New Years Day, made with the Christmas ham bone. (Ham was only once a year, too.) In my adulthood I have learned to make split pea soup a number of ways, not restricted to that Christmas ham bone! I am glad you wash your peas and rice, as many people do not know to do that. Thanks for your beautiful video and for sharing your wise perspective on life. I am going to make naan for the first time...
You’re amazing! It’s easy to see that you consider being a wife and mother such a privilege … as it is. Keep providing nutritious, yummy meals for your family. Your family is blessed to have such a caring, loving, committed mom as you. 👍🏻👏🏻
I am so inspired by you and your sweet spirit ! I am leaving the corporate world to stay at home with my two (soon to be three) children. I have always loved to cook and care for my home and family but have also had full time job and expendable income ever since I’ve been a mother. This has left me feeling like nothing gets my full attention and I feel I’m missing out on giving my family all that I can. My husband has his own business with fluctuating income but we are determined to make it work. I’ll certainly need your zero waste kitchen ideas as we transition into this new phase of life. Love your channel and the way you deliver such heartfelt messages about what really matters.
First, congratulations on your new little one coming. Children are such a blessing. I came home right before our second was born and it was life changing for us. It took adjustment financially to be okay with less money but the wellbeing of our family was so worth it. Everyone was happier. More content, when I came home. You will do great in this new role as full time homemaker. Your husband and children are so blessed to have you ♥️
I agree with you we each have are own trials. Growing up in a family with 15 children with a single parent life was hard. And now as a grown older adult I cherish each moment I have that I am able to help one of my family members. Love your story Laramie. So many Americans are struggling at this time.
You are inspiration, a resource, a Bold Pillar Of Society. In these times because of greed when so many suffer I Salute You. The calm, resolute manner in which you share your wisdom is valuable. Your courage to live a full life and share information you have accumulated to maximize resources is admirable.
I adore split pea soup with ham! My husband and kids cannot stand it though, so I miss it. Maybe I will make myself a small pot and freeze some for lunches. It sounds so yummy for winter!
My husband doesn’t like beans, so on the odd occasion that we’re not together for dinner/an evening, I like to make myself a navy bean soup + tomato that I adore, and I’ll eat on it for a few days. I recommend making split pea soup for yourself when you get the chance! 😊
Leftovers are my favorite! Regarding criticism... those who are not walking this journey with you know nothing... assumptions are opinions without merit... no one else knows what I have experienced, except those who were with me in the moment and God... Love and blessings to you and yours!
Cooking with a baby on your back is very authentic. Love it! Very simple food, made with love. Easy to wrap the head around. Fun to watch a young mom doing her thing
We have different views on mostly everything. I'm not religious but I do enjoy watching your videos. I also live on a tight budget and your tips are useful. Sending love from England. Merry Christmas!
Very nice rebuttal to those who made critical comments. Pis..ing contest for sure! Suffering is relative in some ways, absolute in others. We should all bear in mind that we will all face the ultimate suffering eventually and celebrate life while we have it, in whatever form it comes.
Oh how many times I've been here as a single mom. Working three jobs. No family around to help when she was little. I made many "great depression" meals. Now my child is grown and we both contribute to the house. She has learned just how strong us women can be all by ourselves and how rewarding it is.
Proud you both you and your husband you're both wise beyond your years. Keep up the good work, you have the right of it, live frugally and smartly, let your money work for you as you said in the beginning. Needs are much more important than wants, and it's the little things that count most in life. Less is truly more. God Bless you and your family.
Again, so encouraged by your beautiful words and inspiration on how to make good, tasty - but affortable meals. I enjoy it so much❤️Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your family, from Elisa in Denmark.
I just found you! I’m so glad I did. We have an empty nest. I’m 64. We have been blessed with a PRECIOUS, BEAUTIFUL granddaughter (22 months). We raised our kids on one income. We homeschooled. I dabbled in canning food and gardening, but in the last few years, I ve learned so much. I enjoy your videos. I really love how your Faith has taught you to trust the Lord for guidance. I see contentment in your heart. I’m on this path as well….CONTENTMENT with life, good times or bad. No grumbling! Praising the Lord at all times. I look forward to learning from you. God bless you! ❤️
Laramie, your strength and spirit shines through in all your videos, it is particularly noticeable that you speak YOUR truth, without any attempt to change others or to take a holier than thou approach. Your eyes sparkle and your skin is clear, you are a great advertisement for eating whole food.
I always say you never know what one person to another is going through..everyone has a story….life is fascinating when you take that chance to find out….being poor is so different for everyone…you may have more or less ..but we all go through hardships weather of our making or out of our hands …your channel is bringing joy to so many and long may it continue and your glimpse of your life is bringing like minded people together…never forget that ..merry Xmas and so much love to your family..🎅🏼🌲
I’m so grateful for everyone that has watched my videos and love that the comment sections are filled with sweet messages like this. Thank you for being here ♥️
Just found your channel recently. I subscribed immediately. Today, I am extra happy that I did that. Please, I need your recipes, because I am lost in my kitchen trying to keep costs down. I have very little income and need you in my life ❤
So relaxing and encouraging watching you cook 🙏I love that you don’t have everything looking perfect or staged. Everything looks delicious and real and simply beautiful
I just love your voice but more importantly your thoughtful and kind narratives. You are a true gift from God and His light is shining through you. I raised 4 children and am a grandmother now, but I find your content inspiring and refreshing.
I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks so much for bringing a wonderful, simple, satisfying way to live and cook to us. So very enjoyable to watch and learn from you!
Love your whole lifestyle and attitude! I am looking forward to watching all your videos as they bring back memories of being a stay at home mom of four cooking from scratch with a ridiculously tight budget. My husband loved seeing his children get the life he didn’t have. God Bless you as you share with us!
Anyone, no matter their income/struggle level can benefit from your words of wisdom, your loving recipes and your kind voice. Thank you for making truly good content!!!
I didn't know when I was young how much struggle it was to keep food on our table. I thank my Mom for that. She always made sure our bellies were full. It wasn't always what others were eating but it was good food. One I remember so much that helped me in tough times was her chicken & dumplings. Our heritage is german so the dumplings were not the big fluffy kind you find more of but a spatzel dumpling (kind of like a little nugget of egg noodle). They have fed my family on many occasions when there was nothing else. They are simply flour, egg & water dropped by small fork tips full into any broth you have, wonderful soup. And if you have no broth into water and seasoned after they are drained. Love watching you prepare meals, it brings back great memories of Mom teaching us kids to cook. Lol...we didn't even know we were learning, we were just spending time with Mom helping. Don't let bad comments stop you. You are doing wonderful.
It’s not much, but you now have one more subscriber. I think you are onto something. Be simple, basic, frugal and down to earth. Im older, but I did all this stuff, but it seems to be a new thing now. Good for you, for teaching younger folks how to live this way. I just assumed it was natural. It isn’t anymore.
I was looking at your videos. You should make more budget meal videos, those seemed to have sone really well! All your videos have, but I think folks are looking for thst. You do a good job in your tires, which helps people find them who are searching for those types.
Nothing shows you how broken our world is like posting on social media. I have 2 channels, and some trolls just try and steal your happiness in hopes that it will lift them up- but it never does. Keep being nice, not because they are, but because you are.
Nobody should waste money! Happiness is more important than anything else. Next is good health. You have great values and you are teaching your children to grow up as great people. So I salute you.
I think it’s great that you touched on how cruel the internet can be. I think people say things they would never say to someone’s face because they can remain hidden behind their keyboards. I think it’s a sad part of the internet.
Thanks for another great video! I was planning on making some lentil curry tonight, and you've inspired me to try my hand at some homemade naan to go with it.
As a family of 9 children me and my husband I understand all that you say and do you are right nothing happens just to happen it happens for a reason like finding your videos I remember not being able to do proper Christmas or holidays birthdays when everyone else was giving there children restaurant food. Fancy clothes my children would ask me why we couldn’t. I grew up not feeling loved alone I vowed I wanted a huge family and I got it I wanted to know someone would love me and they do they are all From ages of 24 to 9 and they now know we had so much we didn’t go hungry me and my husband always make sure it was is warm in winter and cool in the summer we ate meals together maybe not fancy but good hearty meals and I thankgod for them everyday no we’re not perfect I wouldn’t want to be I love my life peaceful and now that there older it’s rewarding to see how the older ones contribute and we stay in our own little world and we love it even tho I’m getting older and life wasn’t always the best I thank god for all of it Becuase if not with one twist I wouldn’t have any of this thank you for your videos and it’s ok to be thrifty it’s the best to know you can save money and live life debt free
Naan is so very tasty, I totally agree!! Its the dishes that are so simple that take love and time that always turn out so amazing and ones that we choose again and again to make. I have just tried doing a turmeric chicken tights with sautéed onions and kale over rice that was a big hit with my family. It also was nice because I did it all in the same pot which made the kale and stems very tender. Thanks for share you time!!!
So nice to see you making some yummy naan. There are ways to eat healthy and nutritious meals without blowing the budget and i am glad you are sharing you knowledge to help people! Rice, beans (black, chickpea etc.), lentils (there are so many different kinds if you visit the Indian stores), whole wheat flour are all great, nutritious and affordable options! Meat can also be bought in bulk when in sale and fresh veggies are more healthy and better than canned ones!
no kidding! going into a Bulk Barn alone to see things like beans blew me away. I tried an Indian shop last year and all the different rice and lentil offerings were incredible. Not a gourmet cook but this channel alone has helped me up my skills. Plus, she's a really pleasant speaker.
My Sweetheart and I have always lived a life of very little left over; however, our Home has never been short on love! (I am now 65.) I truly believe we are living our best life possible; and I love every minute of it! I am so sorry you and yours had such a hard year. I love the wreath you made it's beautiful - Well Done Mama! 💙🙏🏻💙🙏🏻💙
Found you today and have subscribed. Thank you for cooking with real food, thank you for not showing your children except for baby toes and toddler feet, thank you for your words of wisdom about living life. I’m old and my family is grown but you are inspiring me to live well and be thankful.
Love the “proud members of the ultra-tight budget club!”
Count me in. We are a debt and mortgage-free couple now living on retirement income. Low income doesn’t have to mean low joy!
It doesn’t bother me ☺️ I love the name “ultra-tight budget club”! Cheers to a fellow mama making it work 🥂
I live off my retirement also.
@@msmith7472 That actually sounds like a wonderful way to live ( despite the increased bills ) . Bless you.
Hi…. Does anyone else feel like this? ….Her videos and voice puts you at ease lol😂 It makes you feel like whatever is going on it will be ok.❤
God bless.
Thank you for your sweet comment. You seem so sincere. Hello from Texas.
It sounds like you had a great mother growing up ♥️
I agree that many dont know how to cook.
Couldn't agree more with this ❤
Well done!
Those precious little feet! Our youngest grandchild is already 6. I miss the tiny hands and feet. 💕
Yes, I love the sneak peek! Our oldest grand is 25 and was married this fall. Our youngest is 4, different family, lol.
Oh Linda! I pray you get well soon. What a sweet husband you have for taking over Christmas prep ♥️ rest and get well soon.
Thank you ☺️ I’m glad you understand. We take their privacy very seriously ♥️ but the feet sure are sweet!
Agreed!
Couldn't have said it better.
Spread love and knowledge and encouragement on this Chanel ❤
Yes!
Well said! I’m so glad you’re here ♥️
And also fight the needless inequality that causes it too. Keeping different types of poor people fighting is how they keep us under control.
Spices are an "everyday luxury" that can make simple foods sing. Finding a new-to-me spice is like finding a great new composer or a wonderful author--it's life-enriching.
Try Penzeys roasted garlic. Awesome!
❤
Oh friend, I’m so glad to hear this brought you some comfort. Merry Christmas ♥️
@@EK-fl8yz Thank you so much-I hope so too. Happy New Year to you 🥰❤️🎉
Good job teaching young moms like you. I am a grandma and have always cooked most meals from scratch. Debt free living is very hard, but worth it. Keep on keeping on😊
It’s so much less expensive when store trips are for ingredients rather than prepared meals.
You are so kind! Thank you so much for your kind words. I bet you’ve got some tricks up your sleeve that we could all learn from!
You are a beautiful person.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We wouldn’t live this life any other way ♥️
Oh my your so right.
You are so kind ☺️ I love them all so much.
Great advice!
That sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing ♥️
Awesome! Thanks!
No judgment from me! Just admiration of your gentle spirit, obvious love for your family, and great recipes!
You’re so kind! Thank you ♥️
You are a lovely mom and wife. I am older and enjoy watching and listening to you. I am flooded with memories. You're doing a great job. Thank you for sharing your life with us. God bless. When raising our children we homeschooled and it was the best choice we ever made.
Thank you for your kind words ♥️ I’m so grateful that you’re here!
Edited to add: I just now subscribed. 😊 Excellent job, Missy!
You’re so kind! Congratulations on your son’s impending graduation. It sounds like you are teaching him well!
Congratulations to your son! Well Done!
I've found that if you're honestly trying and being respectful of traditions and people, the laughter you hear is that of delight--delight that you've tried, delight that you're learning, and delight that you are honoring folks. Keep going, sweet one! It's a calling and an honor and you're doing it the best that you can!
Yes! I have found that to be true within my own interactions with others ♥️ thank you for being here!
My family loves homemade hummus and salad dressing! Those are regulars on our menu 😁 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
It is such a delight watching your video and listen to your wise counsel. You do not have to have much to be happy, happiness is from within
Your video was recommened to me, just by hearing your voice you earned and an instant Subscriber!
While I'm 30, unmarried and childless! I really appreciate you teaching some of us like myself how to make a delicious meal! Merry Christmas and Happu Holidays!
Well welcome to our community. Im so glad you found us!
Happy anniversary, Laramie! Congrats on the 10K subscriber count! We need more of the calm and kind approach to homemaking you demonstrate for us. Even us seasoned homemakers benefit by your content. Thank you!
You are so sweet, thank you! We had a wonderful anniversary. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
I save so much money in the winter. We eat a lot of soups and breads
Thank you for the soup recipe! Yum!
I have been wanting to try this one. So glad soup season is here!
One of my favorite soups!
Ahhh this is such a sweet comment. Thank you for it ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It would be nice to see a video compilation of how you use your leftovers throughout a week. Best to you and your family. 💗
That’s a fun idea!
Frugal and intentional living is something that 99% of modern people cannot grasp. I’m glad I’m in this intentional 1%.
It’s a blessing to have an understanding of it!
Congratulations on early retirement! Praise God he nudged you so you could care for your family. ♥️ I’m so glad you found me!
May your husband have a full and speedy recovery 🙏
Sick soup! A priceless name❤
I’m so glad you’re here! Merry Christmas ♥️♥️
Sometimes 😅 I enjoy crocheting and would love to try my hand at some rag rugs. I bet they look so cute in your cozy home!
What an absolutely beautiful narrative, and philosophy to live by.
Thank you ♥️
Do you know how much joy I get watching your videos? your voice, the simple yet delicious cooking, the music...
It keeps it interesting ☺️ that sounds delicious btw!
I’m so glad you enjoyed, thank you for being here ♥️
I'll have to try that yummy looking Lebanese chicken dish. Please keep your humility while your channel grows. I wish you much success.
You’re amazing! It’s easy to see that you consider being a wife and mother such a privilege … as it is. Keep providing nutritious, yummy meals for your family. Your family is blessed to have such a caring, loving, committed mom as you. 👍🏻👏🏻
It is the best job I’ve ever had the privilege of holding. Thank you for being here!
Wow I can’t imagine 15 children! What a full home. I can only imagine how much food it took to feed everyone!
You are inspiration, a resource, a Bold Pillar Of Society. In these times because of greed when so many suffer I Salute You. The calm, resolute manner in which you share your wisdom is valuable. Your courage to live a full life and share information you have accumulated to maximize resources is admirable.
Thank you so much for this kind comment 🥹
I adore split pea soup with ham! My husband and kids cannot stand it though, so I miss it. Maybe I will make myself a small pot and freeze some for lunches. It sounds so yummy for winter!
That’s a fantastic idea! That way you can still enjoy ♥️
My husband doesn’t like beans, so on the odd occasion that we’re not together for dinner/an evening, I like to make myself a navy bean soup + tomato that I adore, and I’ll eat on it for a few days. I recommend making split pea soup for yourself when you get the chance! 😊
What a wonderful mum you are choosing your children over a materialistic life. At he end of the day family is the most important thing there is.
Leftovers are my favorite! Regarding criticism... those who are not walking this journey with you know nothing... assumptions are opinions without merit... no one else knows what I have experienced, except those who were with me in the moment and God... Love and blessings to you and yours!
I took my left over meatloaf and made stuffed pepper soup😁 I do different things with a lot of our left overs so that one meal stretches even farther.
Oh that sounds so good!
Cooking with a baby on your back is very authentic. Love it! Very simple food, made with love. Easy to wrap the head around. Fun to watch a young mom doing her thing
I enjoy the calmness of your videos and the family style meals I grew up the way you are living❤
We have different views on mostly everything. I'm not religious but I do enjoy watching your videos. I also live on a tight budget and your tips are useful. Sending love from England. Merry Christmas!
☺️ Merry Christmas!!
What a beautiful video! Love your words! You got a new subscriber!
Welcome to our little community ♥️

Congratulations on over 10,000 subscribers! Another thought provoking video full of inspirational cooking.
Thank you so much for your kind words ♥️
Thank you for such a kind comment ♥️

So relaxing and encouraging watching you cook 🙏I love that you don’t have everything looking perfect or staged. Everything looks delicious and real and simply beautiful

I am looking forward to watching all your videos as they bring back memories of being a stay at home mom of four cooking from scratch with a ridiculously tight budget. My husband loved seeing his children get the life he didn’t have. God Bless you as you share with us!

You have such a sweet spirit, and I’m glad that I found you. You’re a blessing to me and my family.
That sounds delicious! She was a smart woman ♥️
!m so happy to have subscribed to your channel. Lots of love from

Welcome to the community ♥️
It’s not much, but you now have one more subscriber. I think you are onto something. Be simple, basic, frugal and down to earth. Im older, but I did all this stuff, but it seems to be a new thing now. Good for you, for teaching younger folks how to live this way. I just assumed it was natural. It isn’t anymore.
It means so much to me that you’re here ♥️ welcome to our community, I’m so excited!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos and encouraging other s!
You’re so welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Nobody should waste money!
Oh I hope it turned out delicious!
Laramie, I love your videos! From your great content, to the narration you did, and the beautiful music you select! Merry Christmas and God bless!!❤❤
you’re so kind! Thank you for being here ♥️
As a family of 9 children me and my husband I understand all that you say and do you are right nothing happens just to happen it happens for a reason like finding your videos I remember not being able to do proper Christmas or holidays birthdays when everyone else was giving there children restaurant food.
That sounds so delicious! Thank you for sharing ♥️
(I am now 65.)
I truly believe we are living our best life possible; and I love every minute of it!
I am so sorry you and yours had such a hard year. I love the wreath you made it's beautiful - Well Done Mama!

You are growing for good reason. The world needs hope. The world needs truth. The world needs direction. Thank you.
Found you today and have subscribed. Thank you for cooking with real food, thank you for not showing your children except for baby toes and toddler feet, thank you for your words of wisdom about living life. I’m old and my family is grown but you are inspiring me to live well and be thankful.
