Nice. Theres few slippys that strongly peak my interest. This one, the hedgehog and the divo slip are definitely there. And probably the new penguin slip!
I picked up a nautilus rockwall to match my pen, it was mad dull when it came in, had to send it in to repair because it had mad vertical blade play, came back just as dull. Never had a dull spyderco and I own several. 400$ for a knife, that thing should be razor sharp. I ended up putting it away and basically forget I have it until I go digging in my backpack, such a let down.
Bummer. I have heard this happens even with Koenig, Rick Hinderer, and others, but Spyderco is very, very rarely ever accused of a dull knife or bad heat treat. LOL. It can be sharpened pretty easily and strops up very nicely. Mine stropped up nicely. I like crazy sharp over razor sharp, so I’m weird like that.
Agreed that a minimal edge should be expected. I think we are all spoiled by Spyderco and their insane edges. 😂😂 If some knife is close Spyderco, I am thoroughly impressed. 🤔🤓😉
I bought a Maverick in MagnaCut in early Aug 2023 and another 3 weeks later. One was 63-64 hrc and the other 64-65 hrc. I'm so glad that they tested and sent the data. Piratech is my only other knife (S90V, 61.8 hrc) with this crucial information (answers the question of proper heat treat). I know that this is kinda off topic from your video, but knowing a knife's hrc always grabs my attention, due to it's absence nearly everywhere. Thanks.
I do agree! That is always a good thing to know they are sending you what they say they are sending you. Not all manufacturers will do an HRC on each knife, but I sure appreciate when done. I also am okay for a little extra cost because of it.
@robertbarnum7541 may i ask did u contact them and asked to send u the test? Or what did u do to get that information? Bought a Bexar and it should have 63 HRC as the birthcertificate says. Happy to hear how to check this!
Some will agree with and some will not. I can see this is some of their products but not in all. I like their stuff, even if some of the aesthetics are not for me.
Thanks for sharing bud!👊🏻

Um… did you say new Penguin slip joint?!?!? 😳😳😳🤔🤓

Jack Wolf's Little Bro Jack with Kirinite Crystal Lake bolsters (?) in S90V was so beautiful that I skipped right over the slip joint style.
@robertbarnum7541 Those scales are pretty amazing… agreed.
I see them, but they only have G10 ones right now. Will they have some better scale and steel materials, soon?
Appreciate you doing this so we don’t have to 😅
LOL! It was painful, but really interesting to see how it fits.
Great video Rob! That’s a cool slippy!
Thank you! I’m liking it and having 2 options for slip joints.
GSD stands for Greg Stevens Design.
Thank you. I was wondering. 👌✌️🤓

@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives 400 dollar knife should not need to be sharpened 😂 but I understand what you mean. I love their pens, never had an issue there
You are great at getting the blade all that it can be.@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives

Thank you, Robert. I tend to push the limits a bit. LOL. I like that there is more in a knife that one 1st sees. 🤙👍🤜💥🤛🤓

@@jonasriede1304 I believe that it was on the box that the Mavericks came in.
Would you say that taking apart a Bexar is a bit of a bear?
You know, I thought of that but could not quite work it in. LOL. Nick Shabazz would never have missed that one. I’m no Nick… 😳😁🤓😂
@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives I can hear it in his voice haha
i feel your pain on that one just took mine apart and four days later i did it smh
Hope it came back together for you.
Tactiles QC and blade grinds are about as good as Benchmades. Over priced for the quality they deliver.
